I just Bought a 2012 Fully Loaded Black ExL Accord with only 40,459 kilometers ,(25,140 miles) Car is basically brand spanking new condition. Best Purchase I could of made. The amount of Kilometers is Unheard of for an 8 Year old Car.
The perception of Hondas being super reliable is honestly dumb. I’ve had Hondas before and they all caused mayor problems plus they’re not cheap to maintain. Hyundai/Kia, Toyotas and Nissans are way more reliable.
Mayor problems? Lol Nissans are notorious for their failing CVT transmissions. Hyundai/Kia? Really? Lol your comment alone proves your lack of knowledge about cars and engineering. Your grammar proves your incompetence which further proves your ability to ever own anything beyond a crappy Hyundai/Kia.
FYI it feels a bit sluggish because this 8th gen auto V6 does not have true VTEC. The VTEC system is dedicated to the VCM system instead to save gas. Hence there is only one cam profile. Look for the 9th gen auto V6 instead as it has true VTEC, they were able to get both VCM and a true secondary cam profile so day to day driving is quite a bit peppier, combined with 6 forward moving cogs instead of 5.
Lol what person would trade this car in for a piece of crap Ford. I could see if they traded it in for the 2013 one, but they traded this nice car in for a car that has had the same body design since 2005 lol smh.... But I have this car in the Red Basque pearl with the ivory interior and I love it, the only problem I have are the seats. When you sit in the car for a while, the seats DO start to hurt your back, but other than that this car is the best. In terms of road noise and quality of interior , lower trim levels have road noise and cheaper materials. The top of the line Accords do not have that much road noise and it has much better materials than the lower trims. My dad had an LX which had cheap a** materials. My EX-L V6, not so much :)
ME TOO, im 6ft 4in, and deal with terrible time ,feeling always dealing uncomfortable seats, and trying to adjust a good fit, plus the seating is very hard, however everything else is really nice. My next car will be a larger, more roomy SUV model ride.
It's overall still pretty slow though. The older 5AT used in the 06-07 Accord and the 05-06 Odyssey was considerably faster. TBH they really didn't reach that speed again until the lightning quick 10 speed they use now.
I completely agree that Honda needs to make many more features standard on all trim levels. They should even offer (at no additional charge) the LED headlamp as an option for those who want it.
CarandDriver picked the 8th generation Accord 2nd place in one of their more recent comparisons. They said is was the "drivers car" of the group. Honda's age very well. If you look at the stats of a Honda on paper it would feel really out classed. You have to experience it for yourself.
Be persistent and you'll find one eventually. It took us over a year to find a good candidate and we found a great one, 2012 EX-L V6 with only 23k on it.
I almost said to you "what? These are cheap as hell!" But a recent search I did for prices on these proposed a different response..... Yeah. Keep saving and good luck! Hopefully you did find one by now.
The Fusion is great and all, but you've gotta get a Sport to avoid horrific problems with the 6F35 transmission. Therefore, its Accord or nothing for me in this class!
I still use cd's, and am disappointed to hear that car manufacturers will be phasing out cd players. Mp3 players may be convenient, but the sound quality is garbage compared to that of a cd. All this unnecessary high-tech crap will make it impossible for me to ever afford a newer car when I need one. Why can't there be a modern midsized car that just sticks to basics for christ's sake. Only a pompous snob needs a 6 or 8 speed automatic transmission. 4 speed works perfectly fine for me.
I somehow stumbled upon this redline review and thought it was a different channel than the one I'm used to. Man you've come a long way. Gives my channel some hope :D
@theredlinereviews Does anybody knows if they upgraded the V6 engine on the 2012 accords ? 08-10 V6 engine tends to consume oil and have piston ring failures..
If it's so tiny than I wonder how they managed to fit one in my dad's '05 Honda Civic LX sedan? I can understand what you're saying. However even my grandmother's previous '00 Nissan Maxima GLE had struts and had a split folding rear seat. I think it must be Honda cheeping out.
I completely disagree on your opinion on transmission speeds. Have you driven a modern car with 6 speeds or more? It's completely different and improves the acceleration and fuel economy exponentially. I do think 8 or more speeds is getting excessive but 6 gears is the perfect amount for me.
I own this identical car but in white. It is very sporty. I added 20 inch rims, performance tires, intake, dual cat back exhaust and so much more. Its now pushing over 300hp. Even stock this car is sporty, quick handles better than any of the competitors. Plus is looks 10 times better than an ugly fusion or camry. Next gen will be hotter
How hard are the seats on the TSX? I'm helping my mom car shop and one of the cars I had in mind was a used 2010 TSX but we need it to be comfortable on long trips because we would be going on a roadtrip next week
I sure have, liked the direction they are going with. I did notice the gauges were lifted right out of the CR-V, kind of wish they designed new gauges for the Accord, and it didnt have push button start in it.
Because that would be TOOO luxurious for Honda. Gotta get an Acura for that and even then you have to pay extra to get the trim or option for cooled seats.
Honda still only makes the Accord's seat one piece to fold? That is stupid! I like the styling but the hard plastic up top on the dash does look cheap. Come on Honda, you know you can do better. The '13 better be better or Honda is going to get a ton of criticism. I love the sound of the engine and the handling is so much better than many vehicles in the class! I'd buy it but would take a 4 cylinder as I just can't justify the V6. Most of that stuff I can live without.
Nice video and nice car, but I would have to get the coupe. The sedan for me is a little larger than I would like and I think the rear end is kind of ugly. Plus, coming from a 2nd gen Toyota Solara, the Accord Coupe is the most similar car on the market today!
yes honda accord v6's are probably the most reliable cars out there, my dad had one from 98' and it has over 353000km on it and still works exquisitely, we still have it and he bought a newer 2007 one which he still uses, honestly love them so much, and they really do last FOREVER.
Long Answer, it depends on what you want. Honda is better if you want better overall build quality, quality of materials, and reliability. Nissan is better if you want a good sports car like the 370Z or Maxima.

It's a heck of a lot more fun if you start out in D3 for hard accelerating (v6 Sedan Models) which allows you to hold gears 1-3 longer and make full use of that sweet J-series vtec range. Just don't plow through 1-2-D3-D like an auto-manual or you could have other issues real quick. Honda's 5AT does indeed shift very quickly, its what keeps it a step above the other 5AT from other manufacturers

I so agree! I got the 2013 base but I would've paid for the LED lights package cuz I find accord lights to be quite dem
The only reason I would choose the V6 is to get it with the 6MT
CarandDriver picked the 8th generation Accord 2nd place in one of their more recent comparisons. They said is was the "drivers car" of the group.
Honda's age very well. If you look at the stats of a Honda on paper it would feel really out classed. You have to experience it for yourself.
I hate the 2013 - Present Fusion cause it no longer offers a V6, just a less refined turbo 4. I'd much rather have a V6 than a turbo 4.
That's probably true, however most automakers are switching over to turbo 4s because they offer similar or better power and better fuel economy.
