Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. Haters gonna hate. Dimash has studied music and vocals since the age of five. He has his BA, Master, and Ph.D. in musicology and composition. So no, I would consider him to be overrated. Even now, he still does vocal training for 3-5 hrs. every day. Plus, a humble and caring individual. He once made a statement that if his heart was cut open, all you would see is music. When you have the kind of dedication and passion for your craft as he does, how can anyone ever think he is overrated. When he covers a song it is better than the original, but, no one can sing his songs better than he. For example, listen to his version of "Hello" by Lionel Ritchie and " All By Myself" by Eric Carman, and "Adigio, all three done on "The Singer 2017."He was only 22 yrs. old and the youngest singer on the show. Thank you for your comment and reactions to Dimash. I look forward to viewing more in the near future.

The trouble is that here in the west we are so locked in our musical bubble that we have become snobbish about any artist that isn't famous either in the US or the UK or both.
We can't believe that countries that we have barely heard of could possibly be better than what we produce.
Dimash could easily have become famous in the west if he'd been prepared to sacrifice his creativity for fame and fortune. He's had numerous chances, one being a US TV competition called The World's Best where he was strongly forecast to be the winner of a million dollar prize but walked out just before the final when he discovered he'd been lied to about competing with children. In Kazakhstan it's traditional to raise up and support children, not use superior skills to compete against them.
He was also supposed to take up an internship with David Foster before Covid, that didn't happen, whether or not it's because he discovered David is a my way or the highway guy, I don't know.
Dimash is an incredibly strong minded, creative man who's very much in control of his own life and career. Financially speaking, he doesn't need the West at all. He's already a megastar in China and the CIS countries which have a huge, huge population.
He doesn't speak about money, he considers it tacky and tasteless to discuss his finances but reports have it that he's a multi millionaire (although considering the massive donations he makes to charity I don't think he's kept that much back for himself).

I’m somewhat new to your channel and have to say that I really enjoy how engaged you are in listening to the performances. I understand there have to be occasional pauses or videos will be blocked, but some reactors hit the pause button every 10 seconds to give a lengthy commentary and I just can’t watch. If I can randomly fast forward through a reaction and every time I stop the reactor is talking, it’s more than I can do.
