this is a great antenna.. I installed one of these and connected it to my ICOM IC-7300. Fantastic performance reception is clear without a lot of noise. I have to protect it from my transmissions from other antennas but I accomplish that by distance from the loop to the other antenna.

This looks like a well designed and constructed receive loop, from what I see so far. Having used a couple of receive loops of similar design for LF reception, I can say that, yes, these must be installed outside for best performance, and I would say from experience that they need to be mounted around 50' from your house (or neighbor's houses). Height above ground is not very important, IMO. 10' above ground is plenty. If you want to take advantage of the deep nulls this type of antenna provides, a small (television type) rotator is a nice convenience. What I think you will find is this receive loop, when mounted outside in a quiet spot on your property, will offer very low noise pickup and good signal to noise ratios. Looking forward to your next video. 73 de WB4DW

Thank you Dave. I am looking forward to the comparison between this Chameleon antenna and the MFJ antenna. Good stuff and great video. 73 de Frank K7RMJ

Great video! Question: I see you have a long cable with BNC connectors on both ends. Will it be okay if I were to use BNC to PL-259 connectors so I can just use my LMR coax with the antenna and the Bias-T?

Does it come with a tuner? DX Engineering says it comes with a tuning box but I've watched 3 videos now on the CHA-RXL and not one mentions a tuning box.

Thanks Dave, I am looking forward to the operation and evaluation of this antenna. I "had" a Pixel RF-PRO-1B Active Magnetic Loop Antenna that I used for many years for Ham and Shortwave use until a windstorm blew down a 90 year old tree and crushed it and my soul! Fortunately, the tree and the antenna were the only casualties. I am interested in replacing it with something as good or better. In your review or notes, Can you evaluate the specs of the Pixel RF-Pro-1B ( I think DX engineering sells them now) and note any benefits or advances between it and the Chameleon offering? Thanks! - K9MFJ

I wonder how well this AntennA will do against the Welbrook loop….

Looking forward to next videos. I have a cheap loop antenna with an sdr while getting my station set up. I think I'm going to keep a loop of some sort for a receive only antenna
