WITH UTMOST RESPECT. Huiyi Tan, I think your well done safety video should come up very often when someone looks up begining jewelry making and jewelry making in general. This a very important service and subject.

Always good to assess hazards. My worst injury was cutting through my thumb bone with a circular saw. Thanks to the great skill of a plastic surgeon the bone was repaired & my thumb works. I did this while cutting lots of firewood & I was not thinking & while pushing wood away from the blade I stupidly pushed my thumb into the blade. The lesson I learned was to not do too much at once especially when tired & to focus on the hazard, more than the job & to make everything that can hurt me as difficult to get to as possible. Thank you for sharing your reminders of hazards & ways to reduce the risks of injury.

Thank you Huiyi Tan,for putting it out there,
I've never seen a video illustrating the health hazards when jewelers show there practices in the trade, great knowledge and should be more out there for people to realize,
    Its never mentioned enough ,
Going off track a little ,I my self do not make jewelry but grind a lot of metals ,I have done welding and spray painting both are very dangerous,
When metals are heated up they release carcinogenic toxins to the lungs specially galvanize metal and stainless steel , they can give a flue like symptom witch lets you know your body has been poisoned, and lungs are infected,
As for chemicals used in spraying there is a certain one that I can never pronounce neither spell but once in hailed it never leaves the lungs and should only be used in a vented filtered booth, I think its the hardener chemical side in the 2pk paint,

I have a tiny space in a cold damp shed and no room for extractors etc. I wear a mask.
I collect as much of the dust I make as possible for texturing.

Anybody have wrist issues here and any solutions? Mine is from previous injuries and sports. But I definitely feel it now when I am on the bench. I try to stretch as much as I can and go to the gym for strengthening.

Keeping it warm helps for me with rsi from an injury.
I just keep a light duty flexible brace around my wrist when im at my desk.
Not one of those stiff ones that also covers the thumb but more like a sock with how not stiff and not tight it is.

Wash your hands after you use your saw. If you rub your eyes and get those super fine metal shavings in them, you're gonna have a bad time.
