Context is key. Peter isn’t talking about all people without exception but about God’s elect.

@@Scribeintheink I completely agree. Most people seem to forget that 2nd Peter 3 starts at verse 1 where it reveals the audience being addressed in the letter and therefore also the context for verse 9.

This is so good. I am sharing this. I don’t think people really get the judgment piece. Jesus is the only one who judges. Now we can make judgments and decisions for our own lives, and those around us that are not capable of making decisions for themselves. But to place someone in an eternal destination is not our place to judge. Thank you for this, this needs to be taught more….. on some level I believe it makes people feel good about themselves to believe that they can place someone in Heaven or Hell. Jesus gives judgement and final say.
We have been taught to look at the outward man and checkmark all the things that he/she has done right, and wrong according to our own beliefs in our own experiences, and decide at the end of the day, or at the end of their life, whether they have tallied enough points to go to either Heaven or Hell. That is incorrect! May God continue to bless you, your family and your reach!

      John 7:24 says differently.
Too often, liberal Christians and other nonbelievers use “Do not judge” to mean that we need to shut up about the sins of others.
      Nothing could be more false.

O cristão verdadeiro precisa julgar as outras pessoas sejam da igreja ou não. Fazer um julgamento justo e firmado na Palavra é necessário para confrontar a igreja e o mundo. Jesus te abençoe! Amém.

Ask someone where their justification is found. If they give imperatives then disciple them in the indicatives, don't just write them off.

Voddie, I am becoming more and more impatient with you lately.
The ROCK is Jesus Christ and Jesus tells us that the man who built his house on the Rock, DID what the Word says, not just talks the talk.
    Luke 6:47,48
"Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and *DOETH* them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
*He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock* ."
What is all this blah, blah about 'indicatives and imperatives' and ...?
I remind you too, that, " *FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD* "

Things of the spirit are known by the spirit flesh just eats sleeps and takes everything by flesh value.
Having no understanding of why the spirit are to be tested. See if flesh ruleth them more then a deserning spirit. 😊 if all men be liars see how they get their income you'll know a thief by his fruit or sloth at getting wealth doing nothing at all but preaching words they won't apply effort for results. 👷🌄🏡🌇

Kingdom of heaven at hand. Think on that. Ok tree bare much fruit worth alot to that kingdom. Long suffering much mercy there is a kingdom of heaven at HAND. But you must apply talents God gave and increase them. Remember God's ways are not man's ways.

Mr. Baucham does not believe in the Rapture. Someone needs to ask him who Matthew 24:13 is speaking about, for if he does not believe in that moment in time, then by default he must believe that we can lose our salvation.
    There is no other option.

Guess the fig tree Jesus cursed to death died because it didn't supply Jesus with his basic needs. He judge the tree by the fruit it bared. You shall know THEM by their fruits. Lacking KNOWLEDGE do ye perish. Same as why Christ threaten them thieves in God's house out rightly. They had no fruits. Not a one they are thieves using God for profit gains where recompance to God Not a simple bank dept to die away from. 😂

Peter is talking about false prophets, not born again believers. Unsaved people can show much fruit and saved people, such as the Corinthian church can show very little. The fruit inspector misses the point of this passage.

  • @time_2_get_ready
    @time_2_get_ready 6 місяців тому

So, why don't you use your OWN advice and judge your buddy "St John" MacArthur then, Voddie?
Nonsense, the only fruit, Jesus can judge, "We don't know" - but it is written, "We HAVE the mind of Christ" and "the spiritual man judges all things but he himself is judged by no man."
"It is no longer I that liveth but Christ that liveth in me."
We certainly CAN see what is in a person's heart and that is why it is SOOO important to KNOW the Scriptures which are the Light unto our path and Lamp unto our feet.
The SCRIPTURE says: "From the abundance of the HEART, the mouth speaks" and the SPIRIT is the Word of God.
If you claim to have the SAME Holy Spirit as the holy prophets of old, John the Baptist, Jesus and the apostles, then "Christ in you the hope of glory" is the SAME Spirit and judges clearly.
John the Baptist called some "you generation of vipers! Who warned you to escape the wrath to come?"
Jesus called the pharisees, whitewashed tombs, full of dead men's bones"
The apostle Paul cursed Elymas the sorcerer with blindness in Acts 13:9-11:
"Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,
And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand."
