Yeah, I still can’t buy the D&D Mythic Odyssey’s of Theros book classifying his alignment as Lawful Good. He is Lawful Neutral at best, and after he betrayed Elspeth and started trying to eliminate the other gods, probably more like Neutral Evil.
@@EnnuiElpis I can see where the book got that idea, the gods of Theroes and born of and represent certain concepts so Heliod if looking at what he supposedly represents would indeed be Lawful Good. The thing is and main problem I always had with Heliod is his characterization in the actual story portion (Gideon notwithstanding) is nothing like what he represents or heck White's color philosophy and how White can be evil, instead his characterization is Black. Heliod is obsessed with power and will do or say anything to obtain it.
With Ashiok being able to make people's worst fears come to life, and Tibalt literally being able to feed off of suffering to get stronger magic I can see these two eventually becoming a team to replace Bolas as the antagonist. (Also together they keep the Grixis colors... So yeah.. )
@@TheHalomanification2 snap, my bad. Ashiok is still my 2nd favorite planeswalker though. Weaponizing people's nightmares is a powerful attribute to have.
@@jesok3761 Bolas was technically a god so its meh. Ashiok is a nightmare mage, someone you wouldn't expect to help with such a feat but Ashiok was just doing what she does best.
So Elspeth had nightmarish illusions caused by a mage, created a copy of a deity's prized weapon from said illusions, then used that weapon to lie to everyone about how the god that killed her is no longer powerful? Well played, Elspeth.
I just want to say thanks for all these great lore videos. There aren’t too many channels dedicated to the lore of MTG and thank you for making great content for our niche here on the interwebs. Keep up the awesome work!
I would say that Shadowspear is actually somewhat a flavour fail. I feel like it should have been similar to how god weapons were designed. Not equipments, but artifacts with a passive and an active ability. It would have been way more flavourful, as Shadowspear is just a counterpart of Krushor, but also because you can't equip an equipment to a planeswalker. They could have put some kind of planeswalker synergy for the passive ability, and keep the active ability of the current Shadowspear for the active ability.
Any thoughts on the Shadowspear being covered in Phyrexian oil? The saga Elspeth's Nightmare features what looks like a nightmare featuring Phyrexians being conjured by Ashiok and I like to imagine the Phyrexian oil from this dream also manifesting itself into reality just like the Shadowspear did
I have my doubts as to Ashiok “assaulting” Elspeth in Elysium. Same premise as the final season of ‘The Good Place’ : the afterlife being perfect just means it goes on into nothingness and monotony. I believe Ashiok woke Elspeth up. They wove the imperfections of Elspeths psyche back into her being, and in doing so manifesting a weapon not of darkness, but of fire fighting fire.
Ashioks motivation is to cause nightmare, and the greatest nightmare for the gods IS Elspeth the only being shown able to destroy them. Ashiok isn’t into pain or suffering, I believe they are more a being of doubt and revelation. They exist on the energy of strife which requires hope.
Feeling under the weather but you guys need lore to watch! Please share it around and give us a thumbs up if you think Heliod is a nob ;)
get better soon!
I love my lore, but I can wait if you're not doing to well.
Speedy Recovery :)
Heliod got what was coming to him since Journey Into Nyx

“Purphorous, God of the...”-Ad: “Butterfinger”
It could work for WOTC ads lol

Thank you for covering the lore behind Theros no one I have found covered this as thorough as you have.
Nothing is more intimidating that Keranos’ t-pose
Keranos can't beat Heliod the Greatest.
This is why Ashiok is my 2nd favorite planeswalker next to Sorrin. She helped take down a god with nightmares.
Ashiok is genderless

ShinAkuma420 It does best. But yea it’s my favorite planeswalker.

This was really cool. Nicely delivered man!
I have a heliod and a shadow spear in my deck so naturally I sometimes equip heliod with it.
Amazing video, what happened to Godsend?
Its matter?
Godsend in the original Theros block novel was destroyed by Heliod after killing Elsepth.
I would love to see the weapons of the Gods become corrupted by something like Glistening Oil :D
Wonderful video bro!!
Heliod is not punished for what he has done before but for a cheap lie, how irony.
Now.... They must turn Elspeth to be a New Sun God for replace Heliod.
ayyy! it's my guy!
Great video (but also *they, you said she in their introduction :P)
Since purphoros created godsend could he not create another, and face heliod straight on.
It probably took ages to actually craft. It probably took a lot of time and took a lot of energy and it probably required some sort of rare materials.
I am so sorry my King @AetherHub , that i watch and liked your video not before.
Again a very cool Video of my king.
I am your loyal servant Marcel :)
No respect for Nylea’s bow because it doesn’t give reach

Thank you Feel better
The aetherhub logo is still misaligned at the beginning of the videos. The top floats towards the camera with the name.
Wait a second wasn't the sword she got purphouros's sword called the sword of chaos
Correct me if im wrong
Your right if I remember right. Upon elsepth plan3swalking to thermos the second time gave the sword to helios how changed and reformed it to godsend
You are right. That’s because the sword was made from “chaos”. When Elspeth too it though it was renamed to Godsend
Did Elspeth ascend?
Does Ephara's vase have a lore?
Have there been cards for the other gods weapons, keranos, iroas etc
Not yet.
Whens the next video wanna hear what heliod is doing lol
Ashiok is listed as man.
The weapon that can beat MTG lore? Story summaries and short lore snippets rather than a full story...
Any chance that, since shadowspear was real.... the phyrexians are now on Theros?!?
:)
Heliod + Crucir or how you pronounce it = US when they first discovered nukes.
