Think 15.30 is based on car in front, not the traffic light detection (particularly as it doesnt seem to detect those side by side lights). On the bridge was the car showing arrows or green lights (ie they might have just manually defined that section as having lane control signals)?
Thanks Mark, yes it’s likely the TACC that’s detecting the movement of the car ahead as per previously. The Harbour Bridge lane markings are arrows and yes it’s likely that Tesla manually turned them off for that specific location. Good that they’re listening to feedback though 👍
Awesome video again mate !!! These videos u do are a great service to show case the progression of the software in our cars. Good job again. Autopilot challenge secured
Thanks Nash! Love going out for a drive each time an update drops. - I think every video that each of us posts adds to the historical record in the rapidly evolving autonomous vehicle space. Can’t wait for the next update!
In regards to the Green Traffic Light Chime: I don't think the TACC/Autosteer behaviour has changed at all. If you're the first car stopped at a red light and the light turns green, the car won't move. This is the same behaviour as before. It will just chime if it takes the driver too long to start moving. If you're stopped at a red light with 1 or more cars ahead of you and the light turn green, the car will move up to the stop line and then stop. This is again the same behaviour as before. And again the only difference is the chime. Whether TACC/Autosteer is active or not, the car will chime if it takes the driver too long to start moving. For the case where you were in the filter lane wanting to turn right, you had a car stopped ahead of you. I think that's the reason it didn't chime when the light turned green. Once that car ahead of you started moving, that's when it chimed.
It will creep on green to bring you up the the line if you are not at the line, it did not chime in the turning lane as the car in front did not move. You are giving it a bit too much credit haha 🤣 I still do not use Stop light control as the 2 lights per intersection issue, I will use it when we get the follow car through green update
Thanks for the clarification! Makes total sense. Happy to still give the car credit though - still amazes me as to how much it can do even for now. Agree with you - can’t wait for the go on green update 👍🙂
Hi Tom, I love your content, keep up the good work. I'm in Adelaide and anxiously awaiting delivery of the Model 3 Performance that I ordered last week. As I'm all new to this, have you heard anything about whether Tesla intend releasing any kind of "Acceleration Boost" to the Performance Model (or a Software update to improve performance), especially given that some time ago, they closed the performance gap in the Long Range model ?
Thank you! I haven’t heard anything about any Acceleration Boost to the Perf Model - but IMO it’s pretty darn fast already as it is lol, there’ll be very few cars that will beat you at the lights 😆 Best wishes for your delivery and thank you for supporting my channel! 👍🙂
You didn't test turning lane chimes at all? Well I just got the update, and they don't work. When you're in the turning lane, and the green arrow comes on to signal your can turn, there is no chime as long as the straight ahead light is still red. The inverse is also true, if you're in the turning lane and the arrow light remains red, but the straight ahead light turns green it will chime, encouraging you to go ahead into oncoming traffic.
Please ask for the return of any replaced parts. We here in Arizona asked for parts for HW3+Mcu2 upgrade and Tesla kept them as AZ has no legal standing on car part ownership. I would like to know if UK requires return of requested used and paid parts. Thanks, G. D., Gold Canyon, AZ
Great job buddy!!!!!! From Sydney as well, waiting for my m3, my s doesn’t have any of the feature showing here. Do you know when Tesla is going to upgrade my HW2 to 3?
Thank you! My AP1 S doesn’t have these features either so I empathise with you there! - Not sure about HW2 to 3 upgrade ... I’ll keep a lookout on Twitter
Hi Tom, with 2020.36, when I'm approaching green traffic light, it chimes and slows down if I don't tap stalk. It's quite annoying as every time I always need to tap stalk even in green traffic light.

Great to see these new features in the latest update. I can't believe how well it works! Looking forward to seeing it in action! 🚘
Thanks Queenie! Can’t wait to demonstrate them to you 🙂

@Sensei Shredder Sensei. Got a 3 SR+ non-FSD 2 months ago. Still tending to get updates late in the rollout.

Nice to see Tesla coverage in Australia. Good job, subscribed :)
Thanks so much! 🙂👍

Thanks Duck, that makes sense. The TACC is merely detecting the movement of the car ahead. Appreciate the explanation 👍

so im guessing you need full self drive for the green light chime function ??? As I can't find it on my new model 3.
I would say so
Getting impressive, dont think I will get eny of these updates here in UK would have got 1 or 2 if Tesla would fit my 3HW waiting some time now.
Hopefully Tesla will roll out HW3 retrofit soon for you. 👍

Hey John, yes in Australia we still need to confirm the green lights with the stalk. No ‘go-on-green’ yet.
The feature still feels buggy and not due to you being impatient. I’m sure it will improve in future updates.
I’m sure it will improve and become more responsive with subsequent updates.
Just bought a model S today... can we meet on harbour bridge ?
Congratulations! Maybe at the next Tesla meetup 🙂👍
So jealous of people who can even afford a Tesla. Just gotta wait and see if I can get one someday
They are awesome cars for sure! 🙂🚘
They are not that expensive, 77k over 7 years is 1k per month if you earn $500 a week which is below min wage $230 a week for a Tesla
@@prostheticaim8030 yeah but I live in Europe where on average we earn less and import tax on teslas is fucking ridiculous
Why don't you find a used Tesla in their inventory and get started? G. D., Arizona, USA
You should do some tests down Military Road towards Taronga Zoo.
Yup that’s on the list! Thanks 🙂👍
