Thank you Denholm for putting the 3 acts together and uploading it as the definitive version
Loco that explains why he took down your videoa
Now we know why he took your videos, yeah yeah, but los subtítulos??
i fucking loved when he said, there is no wrong or right, there is only how we do.
what a fucking legend
also what the fuck is vic mensa doing in the studio lol
i’ve come to genuinely believe that when you walk in to this studio everything becomes black and white and
30:03 Jamie with the overcrowded artist response "what are you doing, exactly?" to being filmed, god I love him.
I love the bit about C02 will change your world and then Gorillaz is shown jet setting across the far east on tour. Marvelous.
Everyone: Apparently the theatrical version AND the "directors cut" that was uploaded to UA-cam were bastardized versions of the film that were edited and finished without the involvement of Denholm Hewlett (Jamie's son, who filmed & directed the movie and uploaded this video we're commenting on now). So this version is the only truly definitive version - the one that was actually edited and finalized by Denholm himself. The actual director.
Enjoyed it in the cinema but felt like there was not enough Jamie. As a cartoonist I was hoping to see some more behind the scenes art. Watching again, good to see some in the Now Now section. I think act 3 is my favourite.
I think there are a couple of reasons (and probably more) there wasn't more Jamie. 1) This documentary was made by his son. It's probably not very exciting to film/direct/edit your dad lmao 2) Jamie doesn't seem to like having his process recorded all that much. You can see it here a couple of times, where he's a lil facetious about having the camera around his work. Damon has also said before in interviews that Jamie likes to go off and do a lot of his work privately (I empathize a lot there lol). I would also love to see more Jamie because he's a huge inspiration for me as an artist, but I totally understand why not lmao
Yeah I figured he isn't fond of being filmed while drawing. Anyone knows which comic they are flipping through at some point?
29:40 - 30:02
Wish there was a version of O Green World where the guitar was this prominent.
Thanks for putting this out! Someone tried to sell it for a thousand bucks the other night. You deserve the recognition ❤ Amazing stuff
For real, the fact someone tried to betray you in such a huge way is insane. Glad you got the one-up before anything was secured.
Note to anyone who cares, apparently this is not necessarily the same cut that was being sold, but it's hard to tell what's true and what's a lie lol
@@myless7387I don't care. Fuck anyone who tries to sell anyone's work for any amount.
Thank you Denholm for sharing!!!
Oh for fucksake it was an extended version of the documentary

God that beginning with Ben Mendelsohn is always so damn good. Love that he was part of this album and project in general

I really enjoyed the experience I had on theaters back in 2019 because I met many G-Fans and the documentary itself it's pretty good. Thank you Denholm for uploading it on UA-cam, now I can watch it and remember that awesome night.

Love this , Thanks for uploading the full thing!
Many, many thanks, Denholm!
I'm 6 minutes in and already the narrative is SO much more coherent than BOTH the theatrical cut & the not-actually-director's cut. I actually understand what's going on and it doesn't feel like a meaningless jumbled mess of random b-roll.
Thank you! I'm so glad the narrative feels more coherent to you. This was my original version !
This is completely amazing.

I have an embarrassing confession: I had NO idea what Gorillaz was about up until about two days ago.
I think there is a bit of a cut here…I can’t find the live performance of ,we got the power ft. Jenny Beth and little simz
I removed it on purpose, that section was forced into the cinema release of RFI right at the last minute.

What song is this at 1:36:03 ?
And to think that I listened to Clint Eastwood (It should be noted that i didn’t knew the name in that time) when I was 5 (2006) because of one of my cousins, she was hearing them on the radio. The song kept stuck in my mind for some time, I wish I could asked her who was singing because the music was good but I stopped hearing the music after a L O N G time.
I guess it was in 2014 (I was 13) when I heard the song DARE and like every curious kid I looked for the lyrics on the internet and well… Let me tell you what after hearing everything and discover who was the band that made this amazing music, I’ve never felt (maybe if I can say it like this…?) changed.
Jamie and Damon, everything because you were sitting on a couch watching MTV leaded you to create something worldwide wonderful. I want to thank you for being part of my life, I loved your music so much I’ll do my best to go to one of your concerts.
Mister Denholm Hewlett, thank you so much for uploading this amazingly tour, I really felt like if I was on a real concert haha 😅.
Thanks Gorillaz for changing a little part of my life ❤.
I hope you guys can keep this extraordinary work of yours.
This is God’s work…
All of it.
Someone put subtitles in Spanish 😭
Please, i need to know what that song at 1:30 is. It sounds so heavenly. Also great film, watched it several times 👌
The song is called 'Tranzformer' from the deluxe version of Humanz :)

Is this a lost media?
You're watching it, so it's not.
@@yogurbread I don't need sarcasm but thank you.😒
I could never watch this because of the steep decline in quality and cultural zeitgeist Damon Albarn suffered post Demon Days. Can anyone alter my mind on this?
Then you shouldn’t really stay with the Gorillaz fandom.
I try not to.
Wait what?
Imagine caring about someone's impact on the zeitgeist.
Ni con todas esas personas pudieron hacer algo decente
Que album tan mas malo
