- This is an educational video explaining about different types of Triangles based on sides and angles.
Triangles can be classified based on the Sides or based on the Angles.
What are the different types of triangles based on the sides of the triangles?
There are three types of triangles based on the sides of the triangles
A Triangle in which all three sides are equal is called an Equilateral Triangle
A Triangle in which any two sides are equal is called an Isosceles Triangle
And a Triangle in which none of the sides are equal is called a Scalene Triangle
What are the different types of triangles based on the angles of the triangles?
There are three types of triangles based on the interior angles of the triangles
A triangle in which all the interior angles of the triangle are smaller than 90 degrees is called an acute triangle or an acute angled triangle
A triangle in which one of the interior angles of the triangle is equal to 90 degrees is called a right triangle or a right angled triangle
A triangle in which one of the interior angles of the triangle is greater than 90 degrees is called an obtuse triangle or an obtuse angled triangle
So there are three types of triangles based on the Sides
Equilateral Triangle
Isosceles Triangle
Scalene Triangle
and there are three types of triangles based on the interior angles
Acute Angled Triangle
Right Angled Triangle
Obtuse Angled Triangle
Quiz
Is this an acute angled triangle?
Yes this is an acute angled triangle, as all three interior angles are less than 90 degrees
Is this an Equilateral triangle?
No, This is not an equilateral triangle as all three sides of this triangle are not equal
Is this a Right Angled triangle?
Yes, This triangle is a right angled triangle as one of the interior angles is equal to 90 degrees
