The thing that you have to respect about Dr. Nefarious is that he’s actually willing to get his hands dirty and risk his plans failing, while Emperor Nefarious doesn’t actually do anything himself and just has his minions show up to do all his dirty work. EN makes himself look like an invincible and infallible dictator, when he’s just a coward that can’t rise to anything alone and simply finds the right opportunity to make himself look unstoppable.

I don't get to "feel" what makes a game fun, in an interactive sense, but I do get to appreciate the colors and writing and effort from a removed perspective. Also I get to save about 700 dollars
Honestly I feel like it works, especially since the more important part comes as a cutscene later. It very much captures the vibe of "I've got some shit going on, but we've got more important things to focus on so here's the short version and I can deal with the rest after." It's not really Clank's place to be full-on therapist, but he knows Rivet's damage and can tell something's going on. Meanwhile, Rivet has come to trust Clank and wants to keep him in the loop so they can put their full attention to the task at hand, so she doesn't beat around the bush.
If this is the quality we will see in the PS5 then I'll pay the full price of every game at this level of quality. It's absurd how Insomniac reached the next level. They are one of the best if not the best developers in the market. Yes Sony decides when the next generation begins. It started with THIS game.

I decided to watch this to get a better understanding of the story so I could write a Jak and Daxter crossover using some of the points from this game. Man, I'm blown away by the graphics! I really wish I had the money for a PS5, because I would totally buy it and then buy this game. I'm not the biggest Ratchet and Clank fan, but I did grow up playing the PS2 games for the franchise (never played the second one, but I have seen some of the game because my brother played it). I'll def be saving up money to get this game because I would love to play it and experiment with the mechanics! Also, low key felt pain about the fact that so many weapons remained unpurchased or not upgraded. I may not be a completionist, but I love collecting all the weapons and upgrading my weapons as high as I can make them go. I can understand wanting to beat the game quickly, but I still felt like things were missed -- not to mention some dialogue was skipped over due to the player rushing around everywhere and not letting the commentary of the characters finish.
It’s shorter than A Crack In Time! That’s still the best one imo. Nefarious also felt a bit off in this game. He wasn’t the same villain he was back in 3 and CiT.
It'll be hard to beat A Crack In Time, after all these years, it's still the best in the series. Rift Apart gave me vibes from both A Crack In Time and Tools of Destruction, mixed with Ratchet & Clank PS4's mechanics.
They are very very different and even have different DNA. Lombaxes in ratchets dimension only the males have tails but Rivet has a tail. Clearely the DNA is very different not to mention they're color. They are also opposite genders with very different goals and personalities. Ratchet doesn't exactly want to meet all the lombaxes while Rivet wants to completely. Both have different DNA and different brains which means they are very different. Saying dimensional counterpart seems like it's saying "I'm you" or "your me" but in reality it's actually less than that. When someone says counterpart it doesn't need to be another you or something, it needs to be someone who fills your role not necessarily you. Rivet fills Ratchets role but clearly the two are not the same. They may have similar "just jump in" when fighting but that's it. Simply they are two different people who fill each other's roles becoming a counterpart which means they are the other person of that dimension but doesn't mean they are actually the same person.
Color doesnt really mean much there... Quark and Quantum are different colors, also note, not just outfit color but SKIN color too, yet they 100% are dimensional counterparts Nefarious are different colors You're going to point out color yet not the genderbending? And your point on their goals is... odd. Ratchet has had time to think and worry about the idea, and most definitely earlier on was in the exact same boat you say Rivet was, and even Rivet worried about the EXACT same thing (worrying over meeting another lombax face to face) before the two truly met up face to face for the first time and introduced themselves. Also one problem is, technically there can NEVER be an exact copy when parallel universes are involved. A single change in circumstances can drastically change the outcome and result in a completely alien person, even if they were, at one point, the EXACT same, yet they ARE effectively the same. And finally. Have you considered the fact they retconned that detail? Or Angela is perhaps the odd-one-out? We know that at least in Rivet's universe she exists, but for all we know she has one too... Tail or tail-less isnt exactly an *important* part of the story, and it doesnt subtract anything to Lombax designs either...
Dude, the definition of "counterpart" is: "a person or thing that corresponds to or has the same function as another person or thing in a different place or situation."......Keyword "function". Rivet is his counterpart because she too is the last Lombax in her dimension and lives a similar kind of life, fighting against Nefarious......Also, the tail thing is stupid and it has probably been retconned and changed.....both male and female of the same species have tails, dogs, cats etc...for feline like creatures like cats and lombaxes, tails are for extra balance.....why would the females not have tails? don't they need to balance too? or were they stuck in the kitchen so long their tails devolved? don't female cats have tails too?. Read here carefully, mates. I waited to finish the game first, before replying. It took me 37 hours to complete the game on Hard difficulty. I have completed each side quest on the map followed by main quest and found all the collectibles on each map. Finished all the arenas. Did NOT upgrade all the weapons. And I activated the infinite ammo/life Cheat on the last 20% of the game. 37 hours. Whoever buys Ratchet and Clank just for the story and skip the rest of the content is an idiot, and does not get to complain about the game. No Ratchet and Clank fan will ever do such things. 37 hours,mate. 37 !!!

I may not have played this game series before, but it's always intrigued me, and now that I've watched Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit beat the snot out of Nefarious (both of them), I want to play it myself. Hot damn, Insomniac... first the genius that is Spyro, now this?
That's what I did. Wanted the PS5 for this game loved it instantly! Will beat this game today then will play Returnal next! Horizon Zero Dawn 2 next then GoW before GoW2 comes out.. thats the plan for 2022

For anyone wondering, this game is absolutely worth it. I've played every Ratchet and Clank since I was a kid (well all the main titles anyway) and this one is definitely in my top 3. This game may be a bit shorter than most of their titles, but challenge mode keeps the game going much longer. The storyline and characters are very well written (with Kit and Juice being some of my favorites) and nothing felt rushed, especially near the end. The mechanics of the game are insanely polished and feel near perfect. The only thing I was slightly sad about was there only being 8 planets. But it does feel like they are all cohesive and multiple revisits let you sometimes see more of the planet. The final showdown is incredible - I cannot stress enough how much I loved this game. Judging off how well this did, there should absolutely be a part 2 which I'm already excited for :)

80€ for less than 6hours of actual (story) gameplay. Great graphics and great story but still ... We are on 2021 with next gen consoles with the cost of the game between 80€ and we take a game with a duration equal to a turn of one normal job 😅😅
Right, there’s a plethora of games out there that are like $15-30 and have upwards to 70 hours for casual playthroughs. That’s almost 12x as much playtime for a quarter of the price. At a certain point how many people are paying for graphics.
This gameplay completely skips collecting half of the arsenal and basically all of the armor upgrades. Also no RYNO completion. It would take significantly longer to fully complete.
@@Justin-kz1mv that's what I said. The gun not grabbing everything, just finish the main story and surely on the medium difficulty with is super easy. I personally am at 23% after 4h30 of gameplay max difficulty grabbing everything. It creates a big difference
You can thank the fancier graphics for that. Back then you could get away with making 240p textures and they looked good, now they need to be 4k which is literally more than 75 times the amount of pixels compared to 240p.
honestly i love how the progress (xp, number of bolts, health and etc) are curved and follow camera motion to make it look like a virtual reality game played without vr glasses

It took me 37 hours to complete the game on Hard difficulty.
I have completed each side quest on the map followed by main quest and found all the collectibles on each map.
Finished all the arenas.
Did NOT upgrade all the weapons.
And I activated the infinite ammo/life Cheat on the last 20% of the game.
37 hours.
Whoever buys Ratchet and Clank just for the story and skip the rest of the content is an idiot, and does not get to complain about the game.

I may not have played this game series before, but it's always intrigued me, and now that I've watched Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit beat the snot out of Nefarious (both of them), I want to play it myself. For anyone wondering, this game is absolutely worth it. I've played every Ratchet and Clank since I was a kid (well all the main titles anyway) and this one is definitely in my top 3.
This game may be a bit shorter than most of their titles, but challenge mode keeps the game going much longer. The storyline and characters are very well written (with Kit and Juice being some of my favorites) and nothing felt rushed, especially near the end. The mechanics of the game are insanely polished and feel near perfect. The only thing I was slightly sad about was there only being 8 planets. But it does feel like they are all cohesive and multiple revisits let you sometimes see more of the planet. The final showdown is incredible - I cannot stress enough how much I loved this game.
Judging off how well this did, there should absolutely be a part 2 which I'm already excited for :)

80€ for less than 6hours of actual (story) gameplay. Great graphics and great story but still ... We are on 2021 with next gen consoles with the cost of the game between 80€ and we take a game with a duration equal to a turn of one normal job 😅😅
Right, there’s a plethora of games out there that are like $15-30 and have upwards to 70 hours for casual playthroughs. That’s almost 12x as much playtime for a quarter of the price. At a certain point how many people are paying for graphics.
This gameplay completely skips collecting half of the arsenal and basically all of the armor upgrades. Also no RYNO completion. It would take significantly longer to fully complete.

You can thank the fancier graphics for that. Back then you could get away with making 240p textures and they looked good, now they need to be 4k which is literally more than 75 times the amount of pixels compared to 240p.
