Chelsea’s transfer strategy hasn’t been identifying profiles and skill sets that would enhance their team, it’s literally just take other clubs transfer targets without actually realizing what they’re good at or what they bring to a team

@@africanchild2541 mudryk is quite literally the best example of this. He was certainly not scouted before the window started, they had an abundance of wingers, and they only gained interest when arsenal were in for him. Same with caicedo, absolutely no interest before arsenal and Liverpool were in for him. There is no transfer strategy whatsoever with this club.

The owner of Chelsea transfer window is absolute focking stupid moran. The new owner of Chelsea thinks he should buy just a lot of mediocre players to hope get succes, when his dumb enough to not realize, that you need few key players to your club, if you want to have succes with rest of the team being also good, like with De Bruyne and Haaland in Man City who are literally the best football players of their generation. Chelsea just buys randomly players that dont have really that good chemistry with eachother, when Chelsea compleately switch their starting eleven from last season. Why did they sell Kante, when he is very important defensive mid-fielder for Chelsea and Havertz was atleast decent striker for scooring goals, when Sterling is known for missing his chances, so he aint that good, while he is fast. Chelsea bought Enzo Feranandes, because he won the World Cup, but he is also just another mediocre decent mid-fielder. Not top class like De Bruyne and for this reason buying a lot of random players, that are not super good or best of generation, when their only mediocre gives Chelsea mediocre results in Premier League and its not good to switch your whole starting eleven, when they will have lack of chemistry, when its just good to buy one or two players for next season replacing the bad players or old football players, like how before last season City bought Haaland, when he was the only one they needed for scooring goals, when Aguero had already left Man City, when became too old.

De Zerbi’s comments were taken out of context! At Shaktar he asked Mudryk what he wanted from his career, and he said he would love to win the Ballon d’or… RDZ’s comments were in reference to this. He didn’t just randomly say that Mudryk would win it simply based on his talent…
RDZ could also have said it to drive Mudryk’s price up, thus doing a favour to his former club… This isn’t super far-fetched if we consider everything going on in Ukraine, and RDZ having an affinity to Shaktar and the country, and wanting to help them out…

Choosing Chelsea over Arsenal wasn't solely his decision. I remember at that time, Mudryk was dropping every potential hint about a move to Arsenal, however, Shakhtar were the ones who accepted Chelsea's offer. And yes, at the time it did feel like you lot got one over us, until Trossard happened. And I will say that the Trossard transfer wasn't well-received by Arsenal fans either. From all the Mudryk drama, and the fact that Trossard had fallen out with De Zerbi because of his attitude (something Arteta would totally not fancy), I think most of us thought of this as a desperate, plan B transfer. Thankfully for us, he turned out to be a revelation and at the moment is more than happy to rotate with out attackers whenever he's needed.

I’m making the case that if Mudryk would have joined Arsenal, he would have walked into an environment that nurtures, promotes and invests in young players. He would’ve been training under a manager who has proven to get the best out of players, both young (Odegaard, Saliba, Martinelli etc.) and old (Xhaka). He would’ve had a friend in Zinchenko who would speak his language. He’d be talked about as a totally different player due to these circumstances. I’m an arsenal fan and despite all the shenanigans that happened, I would still love to see him at the Emirates.

Very nicely pointed. .. Mudryk has not given chances and been sidelined from his position...last season Cucurrela was not giving him pass and everyone has shown it ... Club is really not in good shape.. bad management and so much internal politics .. I'm personally also think Reece don't deserve to be captain .. James and Chillwell were nowhere when club actually needed them ..James only played 12 games last season and this season he has been made captain .. huge disrespect for Thiago Silva ...shame

As an Arsenal fan I fell in love with Mudryk's highlights when we were linked to him. He even looked unreal against Real Madrid while playing on the counter. He has world class talents but he is obviously very raw and inexperienced. He will regress unless he's given minutes with clear instructions. You simply have to at least give him 30 minutes off the bench every week. Otherwise he'll never learn to be a footballer. Ideally he needs to start too to improve. I still think Arteta would have got a tune out of Mudryk if he signed him.

For Mudryk its extreme but honestly: Chelsea record of developing talents isn`t very good. Sure the academy is great but for senior players especially transfers, players come in and for most of the time they don`t develop/become better or even decline. This wasn`t so bad because mostly they bought the finished article but the list of talented players who came to Chelsea and stopped becoming better is huge. I know some will now cite Hazard and others, I didn`t say they never develop I said many many players stagnate. In comparison to e.g. Dortmund, Brighton, Arsenal (Wenger years) , Ajax Chelsea doesn`t seem to be able to be as good at developing. Might be that they want instant success ...but its a theme even if Mudryk is an extreme example but far from the only one .

He's just very very very raw, I'm an Arsenal fan by the way. The thing is, young players in that bracket of 18-24 years of age are still learning their trade. If he's not playing how do you expect him to develop, what can you expect them to do in 20/30 min when they do feature? You also have to remember Chelsea's transfer policy is unforgiving for giving players time to develop, its about success and performing right now and not in a couple seasons time. Chelsea under Todd have been recruiting young players in that bracket of 18-24 years of age so the project is looking to be successful in 2/3 years times rather than right now. Poch is also under pressure so why is he going to rely on him when he knows he's inconsistent and unknown. The best thing for him this summer was to go on loan somewhere, get that gametime in an develop if he was never going to start consistently under Poch. I thought it was quite odd we were willing to spend 80 million on a player who was always going to be back up to Martinelli and Saka.

Would Mudryk be a better player at another club? Would he live up to the potential if he were at a club that were more concerned with developing instead of the finished article? Brighton for example? Just a question.

Mudryk signed up for turmoil and inconsistency when he joined Chelsea over Arsenal killed his progression and development for the dollar

Mudryk bagged a brilliant goal against Brighton in pre-season and was excellent throughout pre-season, seemed very confident. However now in the new season it just seems to be the same mudryk we saw last season…

The only this Chelsea "saw" In Mudryk was exactly that Arsenal were sniffing around for him

‘We must have seen something, we gave him the longest contract in PL history’….or Chelsea found a loophole in Fair Play rules?

If history is anything to go by, you'll sell him to Arsenal for about £80 million and Arteta will promise to transform him....

He is a potential talent who is getting trained by crappy coaches (not just managers). Didnt the end of Abrahamovic also cause most of the coaching staff to leave as well?

As you have said. He has only played 90 minutes once. Give him 6, 90 minutes, a clear role with instructions and he will play himself into form.
You can't keep dropping him. Sterling played himself into form, Caicedo will play himself into form. If we give him the same game time as Havertz and he doesn't perform. Then he is a flop.

Better sell as soon as possible. His value diminishes every week, and he becomes harder to move on every week. If Chelsea hangs onto him for another year then it’s going to be very difficult to move him on. It’ll probably end up with his contract being terminated, which will be enormously costly.

Arsenal will take him on the cheap in a year and Arteta will turn him into a monster.

Transfer window is closed. Unless Chelsea can sell him to the Middle-East

Apparently, Chelsea offered him up to Arsenal in exchange for ESR. Our fanbase was like nah if you sell ESR especially to a direct rival there will be hell.
