Nunnally Ichthyology Collection: wolffish

AH-OOOOOOO!! These specimens are the perfect fishes to share during the Halloween season: wolffishes!
Wolffishes, family Anarhichadidae, are native to the cold waters of the Arctic, North Pacific, and North Atlantic Oceans.
There are 5 species (from 2 genera) of wolffishes. Dr. Eric Hilton presents two species of the genus Anarhichas here: Atlantic wolffish (preserved in ethanol), and Northern wolffish (preserved as a skeleton), and talks about some research he's currently doing on these gruesome, or beautiful depending on your perspective, fishes.
