(besides the fact he's the best freestyler of all time)... it's how he respectfully listens to the generic, choppy freestyles of the other men around him and finds something good within it. Freestyling is best when it's just joy. I think the battle thing has gotten too much attention-- there are other ways to freestyle. I also think of the "Lord of the Mics" videos from early '00s UK, the start of grime. Juice was just the life force itself, just flowing and flowing, infectious.
Freestyling isn't about being super technical or the best it's about securing the best vibe. Sometimes the hardest shit be the simplest shit, but as long as the vibe is right then it's a good freestyle. It's just off the top poetry with your friends about anything you want to talk about or whatever comes out of your mouth. However when it's both a good vibe and super technical that's when it's really good and they should probably be making music.
