Stopping in the middle of the video to write this! Great recommendations so far! Ive seen 2 other people talk about the girl who drank the moon and it's on my list to buy for January! Also I feel drawn to juniper. Maybe it's because my daughters name is going to be juniper or maybe it's because I love the cover art, regardless of the reason, definitely adding that as well and will be following you for more! You explain with great detail and a cheery spirit that I absolutely love!
This video is so helpful! I always like watching booktubers to get reading recommendations for my middle grade son. So many booktubers haven't read the books they recommend! I love that you actually read all of these books. Also, of the books that you recommended that I have also read- they were all my favorites too! Thanks again
I already know I’m going to LOVE this video.. middle grades are sweet magical potions 🤩 Also, you look like a fairy 🧚♀️ It feels like you’ve always had blonde hair, suits you so naturally 💗
is it just me or does everyone get excited while unboxing books............. me:*when unboxing books*EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Family: is she ok?
I LOOOOVE Middle Grade! Krista (from @booksandjams) and I started Middle Grade March 3 years ago and I'm so glad it's become ubiquitous with the month of March already! The Girl Who Drank the Moon was our group read for our first MGM and it became an all-time favorite for me, too! Such a wonderful, wonderful book no matter what age you are! I'm rereading it on audiobook this month and it is also FABULOUS. The narrator's voice for Fyrian is MY FAVORITE EVER. And also Glerk and Xan. Oh my heart. It's wonderful!!
1.Wonder 2.Star Girl 3. The Girl Who Drank the Moon 4. Nevermoor 5. Wundersmith 6. Coraline (graphic novel) 7. Juniper Berry 8. Nightmares the SleepWalker Tonic 9. Green Glass House 10. Ghosts (graphic novel) 11. Orphan island Great book list! Thanks
I love middle grade books.! One of my favorites is The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly (I think it’s actually more on the verge of YA but I don’t really know). It’s about a boy who’s mom dies and he and his dad end up moving into a big, old house with his new step mom. Soon he starts hearing the books on his shelves talking to him and something happens where he ends up in the woods searching for his moms spirit but encounters a lot of fairytale characters. It’s pretty dark and very interesting. Definitely one of my most favorite books ever
Hey thanks for the video, I've added a bunch to my tbr. I'm currently reading the winterhouse series. Book 1 was a great mystery about an orphan who gets sent to spend the winter at a hotel called winterhouse and the mysteries and puzzles she unravels there. Great fun. And it has illustrations too (always a plus when reading books for this age group)
I love middle grades. I'm a teacher and find if a I read a middle grade I can feel I'm doing some kind of work. Some of my favorites are the May Bird series by Jodi Lynn Anderson, The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart, The One and Only Ivan and Crenshaw by K.A. Applegate are some of my favs!
Stargirl is one of those weird ones that totally reads like a middle grade but is about high schoolers and has a couple slightly more mature moments. I'll never be able to really say what age range it's *meant* for, but I definitely think middle schoolers will see themselves in it even though they're younger than the characters.
This is the first video of yours that I've watched and I really enjoyed it. I found a lot of book channels with very outgoing and loud people who were kind of exhausting to watch (for me personally). But I found your personality and way of talking very comfortable and pleasant! So, I'll be back. 😊
I love this video! I don’t typically read middle grade, but one I HAVE to recommend is Time Windows by Kathryn Reiss. It’s been at least ten years since I’ve read it but the story still sticks with me.
LOVE THIS VIDEO!! Never heard of Nightmares The Sleepwalker Tonic before but you make it sound SO good! And I'm dying to read Greenglass House - I just recently required it. Also never heard of Orphan Island either but it's another one I'm putting on the list because of you. Thank you so much for this video ❤️
Such great recommendations! I've read several of these and loved them. I totally agree Wundersmith was even better than Nevermoor. I can't wait to check out some of these recommendations!
Ooooh I want to check out all these books! I'm going to have to watch this video again and write down the titles this time. Lol. I really want to read The Girl Who Drank The Moon. I've heard such good things about that one! Thanks for this video!
I would have classified Coraline and Juniper Berry as horror. I guess the horror/thriller boundary isn't that clearcut though. The Murder Most Unladylike series is what I would classify as mystery (I do agree Greenglass House is a mystery though - and an excellent book).
Question book lovers, Can someone give me recs on some sci-fi MG?? (standalone or series) Has anyone ever told you that you look like Leah from Teen Mom 2? sorry I just kept thinking how much you look like her lol... I have read some middle grade in the past few years (2019-2021) ... YOU pretty much sold me on The Girl Who Drank The Moon... like IDK why but something about the way you described it, made me want to take it out of the DNFd pile and try to read it again... The very first MG I read as an adult was Night Books... FELL IN LOVE !!!!!
I loved Stargirl so much when I read it elementary school, I’m pretty sure the movie is coming to Disney plus this week. My all time favorite middle grade is Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech 🖤 also the Harry Potter series because I grew up as the books were released.
Love this video! I love all those selections and I would love to hear more. I'm eager to die of more into the middle grade. I noticed it's not as popular which is funny cuz Harry Potter was middle-grade.
Hey! Zoey I dunno you personally , but base on your book choices you are struggling whatever it is don't worry everything will be okay. I 've found your channel from booksandlala guess what! I already read few of your favourite books for 2019. I love your authenticity and how you talk about books that you love. You treat them as your babies.😍😍I rarely praise booktuber but ya girl deserve it.
You're videos are so great! My favorite middle grade book is Petey by Ben Mikaelson. It's follows a boy with cerebal palsy. I had to read it in school and loved it! I've read it 3 more times since. I hope you are well. 💖

I really love the B-roll footage where you give closeups on the books and open them and flip through them! Thanks for doing that!
This means so much to hear! Thank you!!

Your hair is so voluminous!!! I loved this video's editing. I haven't read any middle grade as an adult, but I a hoping to change that in 2020!

I love fantasy and everyone kept recommending me the girl who drank the moon. Sadly I didn't really enjoy it. It was a bit too wordy for me.
