This is so amazing. So much so I can barely find words for it and it feels like you saw me whenever you were riding the song cuz this describes my life.
nightshade... you did it again, what have you been through to write these words, what have they put you through? i felt your words so deeply. i'm tryin to find something to say but everything's stuck in my throat
Alright. It's about time I've spilled this. I typically keep a lot of my life private, but this song speaks to me on a personal level. "They all thought I'd die." First lyric and I'm already relating. I've since gotten much better mentally, but I've lived through more than one suicide attempt. Growing up bullied and abused by those around me heavily influenced my mental status over the short life I've had so far. "I'll do my best, because I can. Not because I have to." I'm still depressed, sure. But I'm proud of how far I've managed to come. I'm in college, found the one I want to be with for the rest of my life, and have a stable job in my wanted career. Truthfully, I don't have much reason to keep going for myself. I'm thankful that I have my partner and my few friends. They made my life worth living again. Long story short: I'm doing much better than I used to be. I'm no longer suicidal, I'm building a career for myself, and finally have both familial and platonic support from those few close to me. I told you I'd watch your progression, Nightshade, and I meant it. I'm thankful there are still artists like you who want to speak directly to their audience instead of at them.
First of all, it's amazing to see you find the courage to write this here. I hope everything continues to get better in your life. (Mine is not exactly on track). You’ve found the person you want to be with, you're completing your education, and you've secured a job. Those are wonderful things. Thank you for sharing them with me, it seems that even though you may not know me or see me, you’ve somehow felt a connection. That really honors me. I deeply appreciate your kind words and I want you to remember this: Life is more valuable than money, fame, and everything else. Even in the worst of times, someone will reach out to you, whether it’s sooner or later, but it will happen.
