It's a diaphragm based vacuum pump, they normally will not restart if there is vacuum on them. This is completely normal
I believe you will find in the instructions (at least now, in 2022) that they INSIST that, after you turn it off you MUST release the vacuum from the canister. That's what the little knob on top of the vacuum canister is for.
Mine doesn’t even work out of the box.Vibrates like it wants to start but it doesn’t.Pretty pissed off had 72 bottles to fill today
