  • Use this method 20 times or so over and over to shrink the leather. Be careful to not burn your leather but it should be almost too hot to touch before using the cold water rag.

    ~20 times or so...
Definitely, OCD tweak-dogging w/ that protocol:)
But...no bovine squat, will be trying it out on my front seats.
    Thanks for the Upload.

Can this be successfully done with Mercedes leather/vinyl on door panels that where the material is visibly drooping? I’m working with a 2007 CLS

What if you were to use ice in a ziplock bag to run over it after the heat applications?

Why not use a steamer instead?

That’s what I’m saying my 07 is at 115K and still good. Maybe the later years leather is not as good quality or we just take care of our cars well lmao

What you are watching is not true. It is not possible to regenerate the surface in this way. I tried. In the final, I gave the armrest for professional repair.

Incorrect. It works perfectly. BUT: You have to heat up the leather to really hot temperatures. It only works if you burn your hand when touching the surface. And your wet towels have to be ice-cold.

I tried this with hot air and a rag soaked in ice cube water.....did it for over 20 mins, it did NOT work! Still have ripples in the leather. Also, there is nothing under that leather to bond it firm to the armrest any more, so even if it works, its very temporary. Best would be to glue it down.

The leather is stretched. This is how you shrink it back to its original-ish form. Not sure how it can be confused with anything else.
