When the arms fell off at 07:33 it's actually because they weren't connected all the way. You can see it in the previous 30 seconds. The gray elbow pieces aren't supposed to be visible like that. Look at the official set images
Yeah I think you can actually see the bare axle not fully pushed into the connector right before. I wonder if his rush to upload might cause him to rush the build process a little too much. Maybe with being kicked out of LAN and everything he should stop worrying as much about being the first reviewer and lean fully into taking his time to be the most thorough and honest reviewer? Idk, but most people buying the set will be taking their time on the build, and a fun build process is a big part of how much a set is worth to me personally, so I'd love to see him going back to mentioning that.

Personally i like the mix of different gold colors, it gives him a nice old and weathered look. Not to mention that he would likely have dozens of replacement parts after his long "life", which likely would have a different color aswell. What really bothers me is lego refusing to recolor the joint pieces for some reason

I still find it weird that a set with a base scales with a set without a base. Unless you build your own base, the two will look uneven in terms of height
Just ordered my R2D2 and C3PO sets. I live in The UK and sets are usually priced at £90 (R2D2) and £125 (C3PO). They are on sale at GAME and I got them for £72 and £100 so saved £43. Not bad. Can’t wait to build these and display them together.
I don’t think the eyes are “creepy” but they are a bit off imo. Maybe it’s the type of gold they used on the dishes. Maybe they could’ve inset the dishes by one stud so they weren’t so protruding. But that is my only criticism with this set. I waited to build R2 until I had both of them so I could build them back to back and I’m so glad I did. I love them both standing next to each other. ❤
Very nice set I love the set plaque with the hinges hope to see more of that with sets like this. Now they need to make a buildable battle droid so we can swap the heads.
The good thing is that Chewie was on sale Wednesday this week on Amazon for 30% off so he was $140 and most likely Lego will put him for the same price by Black Friday and maybe even 40% off by then!
I don’t mind that the ucs C-3PO is in this set because it’s another premium display set literally about C-3PO. However he doesn’t belong in cheaper sets like people are clamoring for because he is meant to provide some exclusivity value for the people who buy it. Not to resell or anything but just to own something cool and exclusive that they paid a premium for.

I bought R2 mainly because of the rumored 3PO but also because I’ve never gotten one of the buildable character sets, glad R2 and 3PO scale well together. To me 3PO’s eyes aren’t scary, but something is off. Maybe it’s because the face should be flat then sink in for the eyes but the radar dishes first curve out away from the head before curving back in where the trans-yellow studs go for the eyes. Either way, like the set and will get it once it gets a discount.
This is exactly the info I needed at the right time. I was almost going to buy Chewbacca. Now I don’t think I will miss him not being next to the other two. Thank you!
The only two things I don't like about this build (besides the stickers) are the eyes (as usual) and the bloody silver leg. I just wished LEGO would STOP making his leg silver. It was never silver in the films. His right leg was brass, not silver. So for this to be accurate LEGO should have either used their drum lacquered gold (which I know they wouldn't 'cause it'd cost them) or just use tan.
I gotta think currently at this point Lego knows the droids are really the only feasable and liked buildable star wars sets outside of maybe grogu or yoda. I would love to see them tap into droids more with K2 and IG-88, both would be quite popular and succesful sets. Also with a droideka out its possible we get a battle droid and super battle droid. Hell maybe even a dark trooper from Mando or if they really want to make me happy they could do HK-47 from KotoR, a market they have yet tap into outside of the Revan and Malik minifigs. I would also like to see them bring back the buildable troopers on the level of C-3PO and Chewy as well. I think stormtroopers and clone troopers in that style would be incredibly popular especially for MOC
I only wish it came with an exclusive anniversary figure like R2-D2. Just imagine it being like Shmi or a new Bail Organa or anyone we likely wont get in a set.
I really like the set in general and the combination with the 100€ R2-D2 is awesome but the eyes throw me off. Wish they did them with a round printed 2x2 tile.
Overall, I think C-3PO looks great. I also agree about the "problem" of 'different' silver & gold pieces being used...they could have molded pieces for this set from a single silver, and a single gold. As for the eyes, I don't think them "creepy"...but, they are definitely NOT 'right' - the diameter is to big. I plan on "fixing" that problem when I get my C-3PO...but, I'll admit, I have to first figure out 'how' I'm going to fix it. Finally, as for putting C-3PO & R2-D2 together, I've already been at work on a MOC stand that will allow them to be placed side-by-side, while simultaneously retaining the base C-3PO is attached to.
Never understood why they don’t use Pearl gray for C-3PO’s silver foot, we know they can do it cuz of Mad-Eye Moody from the Lego Harry Potter CMF. Still, I need that minifigure in my collection.
They simply used the stones that were in stock for the set and didn't introduce any new ones, especially with the right leg, light bluish grey instead of silver, which is really really Bad for the price. 4 out of 10. 90 Bucks maximum …
I think at this point, Chewbacca is worth it if you can find him heavily discounted, as the assumed belief should be that LEGO plans to make Han, Luke, and Leia in the future. Otherwise, yeah, C3PO and R2 are the perfect pairing to just get.
