Tanhaji was among a Great Maratha warriors under Chattrapati Shivani Maharaj Kingdom. He sacrifice his life to conquer Kondhana fort which was impossible at that time to conquer. But Tanhaji did perfect plan with very few troops and implement brutual attack on Udaybhan Who was aquired that Kondhana Fort.
It's crazy that this movie was released just before pandemic. This was my last movie in theatre. It was amazing. The cinematograpy and the action scenes were drop dead gorgeous. It's one of the better made film. The budget of this film wasn't insane. Just about $20-25M( 150 cr Indian rupees approx) I would recommend Bahubali 1 & 2 which were made with big budgets but is about ancient mythology while tanha ji is about real life Event.
This year an oscar level movie "sardar udham" released. It is based on a massacre done by British Empire in India. It was not selected for nomination because Indian jury says "the movie propagates hatred against British"🙄 That movie is worth a watch !
Don't harp about Oscar. If you enjoyed the movie, that's what matters. Oscars is primarily meant to recognise Hollywood and British films. It's not exactly an award for World Cinema.
