I personally have worked for big corporations and realised they are loyal not and never will value your loyalty. It’s all about profit. I made sure to generate extra income sources, save money for my small business and then I would continue working. So now my salary from my job isn’t my only income, I just treat my job money as extra income. It gives me freedom to say no . Last time my boss asked me to work extra more than 8 hours . I said no , I was fired with severance and I didn’t care as I knew I will be fine . The company didn’t suffer either . It’s just about me. I don’t want to give my labor for free. Pay me I will work hard but would not lift my finger for free. If you want bootlicking slaves there are plenty and there are plenty who needs it for survival. I am not one of them. Just one advice, save during initial years , don’t let lifestyle inflation hit you, start something of your own it may be small. And create multiple sources of income. Remember for companies you are just a code, don’t cheat at your work, do it honestly and with dedication but don’t work for an extra minute without pay . And always have other jobs ready , if you get a better company leave immediately. Work isn’t your family, you don’t owe them anything neither they owe you anything. It’s all about profits for both the parties. Employees are replaceable so are companies.
