No political agenda, no force messaging, no handholding. just a game for everyone to enjoy. This feels like a game from 10 years ago .. Without an inflated price tag. That’s why it’s blowing up .
you can aim down sights like an FPS. on playstation its pushing in the right stick while aiming. what that is on PC I have no idea but it is really helpful against the automatons.
On PC it's middle mouse click by default, but you can change it in the settings to be a right mouse button tap to go first person or hold to use normal 3rd person, which I recommend changing into.

Absolute blast to play. My friends and I are utterly hooked. Every run is full of the kind of shenanigans I haven't seen in gaming in a long, long time. It is so damn fun.
Games like this thrives when it has the ability to have as many players as possible. Really should be on Xbox as well to keep the player population high.
Your content is so good and on point. It's never gratuitous or strung out just to make for a longer video. You clearly describe the gameplay, and what you are experiencing, and even sprinkle in some pro-tips along the way. Absolutely great work!
You know it's a cool game when the fuckin loading screen to you dropping down the planet is cinematic and epic and makes you wanna dispense 500 rounds of democracy per minute. Oh, and is also rendered in real time and not just a picture with some text. The other ships that you see while dropping, yeah, they're there! And the other pods diving - yeah, they're also real and diving towards the planet.
Why care what others think of video games and how it effects you playing it lmfao. Never understood that about people but then again this generation is pretty dumb so ya. Makes sense why others can't decide if a game is good by themselves and need others opinions lmfao imagine.
@user-zw4xz2mc2q not everyone has enough money to just buy it if it looks interesting. Opinion of people with more experience are valuable because these are the people who experience issues with the endgame for example which would be a thing you can't reach within the steam refund period...God forbid you play on console and can't return the game at all
Reload the magazine :p A M-1 Garand has a clip, An original SKS has a clip. It's a metal little strip with ammunition on it, if its a box shaped thing you slam into a gun its a magazine. Sorry, pet peeve of mine, I do love the game.
I was the same way until i convinced my friends to join. But until they joined playing with randoms is actually not near as bad as other games. I've had like 1 semi bad experience of all the games i joined solo and that one was more due to the person being super new in a difficulty that his friend must have gotten him into. Most of the elitist people will be on difficulty 8-9 and you can jsut chill hang out and have a good time in 4-6 and everyone is very chill.
Loving this game more than I thought I would. Also just wanted to say if you hold down reload it brings up menu where you can tweak things about your gun like fire rates and toggling flashlights and such. I only say that because it took me so long to find that out 😂
Games fun it’s only major problems are not gameplay related but all MM and how payouts is calculated MM is really really spotty for getting into groups I change planets frequently to join new “pools” of games to get quick play to actually work The end game payout only gets paid if you win the match and get to a specific point in the end game screen if you dc or get booted out of match because of spotty connection (they have a little bit of a problem but it’s not constantly 1 in 7~ match dcs on their end) You get paid nothing which can be a kick in the nuts for a 40m mission

This game is an absolute GEM and i PRAY they have the vision and the team to support it as it should. They need 100000% to add stats to the other pieces of gear ( helmets and capes ) and make them unique. Just think of the idea. Making the different armors capes and helmets with atributes like. gives 10% more mag size and 10% more reload on weapons. Combine 3 pieces gives 30%. 5 or 10 more area effect and dmg to stratagems combined for 15% or 30% more. You can even make it a set type like having 3 parts of the trooper set gives you more mag capacity or reduced recoil, or make a support set wich increases ammo for sentries even more and allows the supply backpack to refil 50% more ammo. There is so much that it can be done and it will make the game GOTY for sure!!! They simply need the vision. They really need to go ham and this will be game of the year with the proper tools. Vehicles to spawn. Customization options for the armors and weapons. New weapons stratagems biomes. Harder missions for endgame killing big ass monsters in the end bigger and badder than the vile titan. Man i can only dream for this. Like if you want the idea to spread.
TIP: Most guns have two different reloads. If you reload with at least one round remaining you'll do a fast, "tactical", reload. If you run the mag completely dry, you'll do a slower reload.
Yes, I know. But, in the context of playing a video game and pressing the "reload" button causing your character to perform a reload, most guns in this game have two different reloads.
he's talking about for guns in general, some have the ability to do a faster reload if they have a bullet left. hes not talking about the guns that you can chamber round by round. @@Knights_of_the_Nine
Game is fun but server instability has made it super frustrating and it’s only gotten worse with more popularity. The game was completely unplayable today with maxed out server, there’s no login queue so it’s just random chance wether or not you can actually get in, and when I did it would immediately crash while trying to start mission. But it’s not that surprising considering the developers didn’t anticipate so much attention. I do agree it’s probably gonna be around 30 hours of content considering its progression isn’t super deep or complex. I just hope the stability issues get resolved soon.
Bad idea unless your TV is made for it, it doesn't transmit data the way it should. Not bad for your TV or PC, but bad for the visual experience of the game. FPS alone does not transfer well.
Once the glitchy servers and menus are fixed, and the random freezing when picking up materials while roaming, it'll be awesome. It's annoying to log into the game an hour before I want to play just so I can allow for the server queues to let me in
Its a over hyped game. The interface is clunky, hitbox windows are janky, constant midgame crashing, weapons stop reloading and many more annoying bugs. It looks shiny on the front end, but its really a POS.
This game was made by Swedes. Every one of them is a veteran. They all have mandatory conscription so they KNOW what shooting feels like. As a vet myself, I SOOOO appreciate that. This game just FEELS good man.
I really want to try this game with some friends, but the anti-cheat is a kernel level install that boots up with your OS and doesn’t uninstall with the game. Lots of information already posted about this elsewhere, but worth checking out if you’re not into that. Not sure why they need something so invasive for a co-op game.
I will never understand this "Brutally Honest Review" stuff. Everyone is expecting honest Reviews. That's what a review should be. Just say Review. *REVIEW*

Such a cool game. I’m excited to see what they do with their success. Hopefully just more and more content!! More drops, stratagems, ship upgrades and more war bonds!
Can't say how pleased I am that you picked this up and sang its praise. Arrowhead Studios had good games prior including Magicka and Gauntlet: Slayer Edition. Been a fan of them for years. For Helldivers 1 they gave updates even years past its release, good company of gamers.
It's crazy, the sound alone blasting my eardrums as my team mates chant, "we will we will rock you" as the bug army seems to endlessly charge we hold the line all the while calling in stratagem after stratagem, advanced weaponry, sentinel support, orbital strikes and eagle strafe runs, finally we move to extraction and emote finger guns while screaming, "HAVE SOME DEMOCRACY YOU BUG SCUM"
I like how you can easily switch it to first person when ADS. On ps5 it's just R3 and it makes me who plays mostly FPS shooters feel more comfortable. Third person feels weird usually but I don't mind it in this game. I hope it gets bigger over time but it's fun as hell.
I'm really glad you happened to do a review type video on this randomly. I saw it the other day and thought it looked cool. Hard to trust trailers or much of anyone's word these days. Your one of a very few people I'd actually take advice or suggestions from.
lol. I really like ur reviews. Funny how I look at ur reviews and dismiss the mainstream media or gamer reviewers. Ur reviews tend to be spot on even when I disagree with u. Thanks for the reviews.
The realism of the reloading goes further. If you reload before the mag is completely empty. The reload will be faster as you don't have to load a round into the chamber.
19:48 I know this video was made immediately after the game launched, but dude, I have 200+ hours of "casually" playing it and it's still fun af and with a very few exceptions I don't even like shooters. The monetization is basically non-existent. There is literally no reason to buy IAP packs. I have every singe item in the game, all items from the Super Credit Store, capped in all samples and I still have 5000+ super credits just by playing the game and I'm only level 58. I did farm super credits specifically at one point, but that was just like a very casual relaxing thing while watching a movie on a 2nd monitor. It definitely didn't feel like grinding, but just something to keep me engaged while watching / listening to something else This game is awesome. The only point when I quit for a week or so was when they launched a new patch and it crashed / network connection errors 7 out of 10 games, the last one being when I was 30 seconds or so before finishing it, completing every objective on the 8th difficulty, getting most of the samples, then Network connection error. I wanted to punch my monitor :)) But they fixed that issue.
When you zoom in (aim by holding the right mouse button on pc), click the middle mouse button (wheel) while the right button is held in. You'll get the gun's reticle.
The gaming community literally ate this shit up. And told the Gaming Industry, we don’t care about good games. Keep putting out live service, minimal effort games
This is a GREAT review, man! Really, you showed all kinds of the game mechanics and did a good job showing it off while still not fucking over your team and playing well. Definitely interested in your content, subbed up.
What i don't understand is that I've played Helldivers 1 for years, grinded to lvl50 which took forever on PS4, and then purchased it for PC when it was finally released. This game takes most of its core strengths from the first game. Other than its a FPS now, and not Top View. I don't get why this one is so much more popular, I am happy for it and for Arrowhead studios. I did see something in-game Helldivers 2. Someone drop down a mech. Now if you don't know what those are, they are bots that you can walk into and control. There are a couple of different flavors of these. The first one you get has a Machinegun, but then later on you can get ones with FLamethrower and Grenade Launcher. As I was saying it dropped down into the game, and a LVL50 player climbed inside, and then quickly dismounted. Set off a Nade and blew him and the mech up and promptly left the game. I suspect this was a dev. probably checking the mechanic for this new (old) stragem which will most likely be added to the game in the near future.
The only problem I have is _frequent_ random disconnects on PC. I've been having problems playing with PS5 friends. Sometimes I get the 'network disconnected' message and it literally lies because I can see my friends moving and we can still voice chat until the timer on the message just kicks me. Kill all bugs. edit: and as I type this opening the game, 'Failed to create lobby' so I can't even play :)
Keep talking about Helldivers 2, please DM. I like your candor and passion which reminds me of how I discovered you back in the summertime. I like when you sound happy, sir! 😎🔥💯

Hey dm , I watch your vids even though I don't play D4 , it brings me joy every time you find fun outside of doody Diablo. This game rocks , I'm lvl 18 having a wonderful time
Game is a fucking blast, but the most glaring issue imo is how bad the servers are. It's damn near impossible to join a single fuckin match,i really hope they work hard on fixing this cuz it could kill the game
Me and two other friends spent 37 minutes clearing everything in a mission. A rando joined us and immediately started the evac while we were on the other side of the map with no heads up and left us and our rare resources behind while we slowly died to the evac hoarde. We were speechless.
I paid for it last weekend because I really wanted to try it even though I don’t typically like socialization co-op games but it looks so much fun. The only problem is I haven’t been able to get past the servers full. Try again later screen all week. But I still wanted to support the developers for doing something awesome even if I don’t ever get to play it, I’ll try again this weekend.
Good, concise review of a really good game. You show gameplay, explain a little bit of the story/concept, and explain exactly what to expect with the game. Very well done, this is great.
Anyone who likes this game. I suggest you check out the earth defense force series. It's basically b Sci fi movies as a game.
If I recall correctly on pc it’s middle mouse click.
On PC it's middle mouse click by default, but you can change it in the settings to be a right mouse button tap to go first person or hold to use normal 3rd person, which I recommend changing into.
It depends, but yes accuracy improves with ADS. I hope they fix mouse+keyboard on PS5- it works with one of my keyboards but not with my mouse. Others report similar issues. It's nice that they added support for it, but I'm hoping they fix it as with other things soon.
Honest feedback from a long time viewer. I mostly enjoy your HC runs, however I value your opinion on games and I hope you do more honest reviews for variety genres. I'm not a casual dad gamer, but I'm the same age as one and I can't risk buying bad games loll
Lol. I'd describe myself the same way as a serious gamer at my age.
As a dad aged gamer myself I must say Helldivers 2 is totally worth the 40$ price of admission. I was skeptical myself but after playing 2 days I love it
Absolute blast to play. My friends and I are utterly hooked. Every run is full of the kind of shenanigans I haven't seen in gaming in a long, long time. It is so damn fun.
It's a magazine, not a clip, just FYI
Ha! 💀🤭
I was fast picking this game up after I was told it was like Starship Troopers. Don't regret it. Great introductory video!
His teammates must have hated him during this video.
Haha
Why
You know it's a cool game when the fuckin loading screen to you dropping down the planet is cinematic and epic and makes you wanna dispense 500 rounds of democracy per minute. Oh, and is also rendered in real time and not just a picture with some text. The other ships that you see while dropping, yeah, they're there! And the other pods diving - yeah, they're also real and diving towards the planet.
My son told me to check out this game. Was so happy to see Darth had a video about it. Always describes a gaming experience better than anyone else.
I would probably buy this if I had a regular group of people to play with. Wish it was a little more solo friendly, but hey, can't win em all
Same. Happy for the multiplayer lovers but none of my friends play videogames 😢
I was the same way until i convinced my friends to join. But until they joined playing with randoms is actually not near as bad as other games. I've had like 1 semi bad experience of all the games i joined solo and that one was more due to the person being super new in a difficulty that his friend must have gotten him into. Most of the elitist people will be on difficulty 8-9 and you can jsut chill hang out and have a good time in 4-6 and everyone is very chill.
this game has brought back a feeling me and my friends have been missing playing games together for a long time
Feels like when gears of War came out
great comparison, because yes. Exactly that@@dannydanielsnyc
This is modern day EDF
It seems a bit to chill because of enemy numbers .
@@finnmarr-heenan2397just play a higher difficulty
Loving this game more than I thought I would. Also just wanted to say if you hold down reload it brings up menu where you can tweak things about your gun like fire rates and toggling flashlights and such. I only say that because it took me so long to find that out 😂
DM we need your help on the robot front, join us brother
Man the robots are so much harder… it’s not as fun as the bugs 😅
@@SuperNatalata You just need to shoot more bullets! True, the bugs are a special type of fun.
I love that the community is proactive in which front needs support. This is great online interaction that's baked in.
Games fun it’s only major problems are not gameplay related but all MM and how payouts is calculated
MM is really really spotty for getting into groups I change planets frequently to join new “pools” of games to get quick play to actually work
The end game payout only gets paid if you win the match and get to a specific point in the end game screen if you dc or get booted out of match because of spotty connection (they have a little bit of a problem but it’s not constantly 1 in 7~ match dcs on their end)
You get paid nothing which can be a kick in the nuts for a 40m mission
I hope they show this video love because I appreciate your reviews and want you to review more stuff!
I tried watching like 8 or more reviews to get a hands on - quick - and dissected review of the game. No surprise when I stumbled on DM’s new account I found the perfect review. Well done, man.
Whoa look at you branching out! Glad you just like good games dude! 😉
This was the BEST review of this game so far. Congratulations. I understood the mechanics of the game, the progression and generally what is the game about finally. You are very good at explaining things right to the point in an entertaining way. Thank you.
I like listening to DM talk, he makes everything better by his voice. DM appears to have a gentle personality, that's a good thing. Good video btw :)
It's genuinely nice to play a game, that's complete from the go. Plated about 15 hours and 0bugs
I wish you added the /s.
This game is awesome but it has a ton of issues lol. Ui issues. Matchmaking issues.
I’m actually surprised Dm didn’t have a single one.
if it's still popular in 2 weeks I will try it. seems like so many games are played out and dumped so quick these days.
You don’t play games because they’re popular, you play them because they’re fun. This game is inarguably fun.
@@doglog5748 diablo 4 was fun for like a week
ok if people are still having fun with it in 2 weeks. my bet is that it's a flash in the pan like all the others. im getting burnt out on starting games just to have everyone i play with move in to the next in 2 weeks. @@doglog5748
I waited til yesterday, game probably won't die down for a while from what I can see
I legit went to go buy a PS5 just to play this and I’m having a blast! It’s definitely a hard game but when you get used to the mechanics it gets crazy fun
Too much ... they can f it up .
TIP: Most guns have two different reloads. If you reload with at least one round remaining you'll do a fast, "tactical", reload. If you run the mag completely dry, you'll do a slower reload.
It's not really "two reloads." If you have a round in the chamber, you can start shooting.
If you don't, you have to chamber a round.
You can maneuver the drop pods to kill enemies on the way down. Your hellpod is shaped like a bullet. 😊
Great overview. The first video you posted of you playing this game is hilarious. Classic!
Agreed a match will say 3 players and u try to drop in and it won't let you .
You know you can hook up your tv to your pc right?
Long hdmi a lot cheaper than a ps5 😂
Bad idea unless your TV is made for it, it doesn't transmit data the way it should. Not bad for your TV or PC, but bad for the visual experience of the game. FPS alone does not transfer well.
Once the glitchy servers and menus are fixed, and the random freezing when picking up materials while roaming, it'll be awesome. It's annoying to log into the game an hour before I want to play just so I can allow for the server queues to let me in
Get a ps5 issue solved
Yes , and you can you just the most unrealistic thing about this review is that you actually connected to another player
With the SEAF arty you can hold sprint and spam E to constantly pick up and put down the round to move it faster.
Its a over hyped game. The interface is clunky, hitbox windows are janky, constant midgame crashing, weapons stop reloading and many more annoying bugs. It looks shiny on the front end, but its really a POS.
Man It's great seeing you again. Haven't seen your videos pop up since I quit Diablo 4. Glad you got into Hell divers 2.
This game was made by Swedes. Every one of them is a veteran. They all have mandatory conscription so they KNOW what shooting feels like. As a vet myself, I SOOOO appreciate that. This game just FEELS good man.
i don’t see what all the hype is about it’s not that great
Kids play w/e streamers say is good, then within a month they move on.

This is the best co op game I’ve played in years
Bought it for pc and ps5 and already have around 30 hours combined
Can’t wait for the Mech update
Your breakdown of this game was succinct and well presented. I don't think I heard and "ummm" through the whole thing! Well done!
I'm really glad you happened to do a review type video on this randomly. I saw it the other day and thought it looked cool. Hard to trust trailers or much of anyone's word these days. Your one of a very few people I'd actually take advice or suggestions from.
"This guy just called in a machine gun. I've got the machine gun"
lol. I really like ur reviews. Funny how I look at ur reviews and dismiss the mainstream media or gamer reviewers. Ur reviews tend to be spot on even when I disagree with u. Thanks for the reviews.
Just for the record, Liberty and Democracy is not a "meme", its a way of life.
The realism of the reloading goes further. If you reload before the mag is completely empty. The reload will be faster as you don't have to load a round into the chamber.
Man this game just keeps on surprising me! It is soooo goood
You also lose any ammo that was left in the magazine so it's probably best to wait until the mag is empty or nearly empty before reloading.
It definitely didn't feel like grinding, but just something to keep me engaged while watching / listening to something else
This game is awesome.
‘A great game to come home from work, grab a couple beers, and play with your best buds.’
That’s all any of us want. Sold.
The gaming community literally ate this shit up. And told the Gaming Industry, we don’t care about good games. Keep putting out live service, minimal effort games
You covered pretty much everything I wanted to hear DM. Very concise and thorough play by plays, nice video!
Glad to see Darth going for fun games :) I guess others have comment but you should reload with 1 bullet left for faster reload.
Its also great that theres a strong theme of team playing soneone whos got everything on a high level can drop there weapons for weaker leveled team members to make the fight easier and it balances it for newbies
This game is just some good old fashioned video gaming. Tons of fun to be had
So it’s the plot of mass effect 3?
Most fun I had on a co op in a long time. I play with randoms too.
Hey dm , I watch your vids even though I don't play D4 , it brings me joy every time you find fun outside of doody Diablo. This game rocks , I'm lvl 18 having a wonderful time
“I had a terrible tactical decision” That made me laugh.
Jesus. Just the first two minutes were more helpful than anything else. Thank you
that guy giving you the stink eye when you nabbed his machine gun LOL
Good, concise review of a really good game. You show gameplay, explain a little bit of the story/concept, and explain exactly what to expect with the game. Very well done, this is great.
Anyone who likes this game. I suggest you check out the earth defense force series. It's basically b Sci fi movies as a game. You fight giant insects, kaijus, giant robots, etc. The main difference is that humans are defending themselves from the aliens rather than attacking the aliens. It's hilarious and has a very good class system.
Always remember the 5 Ds of helldivers. Dive dodge dip duck dive.
