  • A method for printing 3D objects that can control living organisms in predicable ways has been developed by an interdisciplinary team of researchers at MIT and elsewhere. This technique may lead to 3D printing of biomedical tools that can be customized to fit the physical body and biomarkers of its users. (Learn more: news.mit.edu/20...)

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is an independent, coeducational, privately endowed university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our mission is to advance knowledge; to educate students in science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences; and to tackle the most pressing problems facing the world today. We are a community of hands-on problem-solvers in love with fundamental science and eager to make the world a better place.
The MIT UA-cam channel features videos about all types of MIT research, including the robot cheetah, LIGO, gravitational waves, mathematics, and bombardier beetles, as well as videos on origami, time capsules, and other aspects of life and culture on the MIT campus. Our goal is to open the doors of MIT and bring the Institute to the world through video.

This is already happening. The limitation is that muscle tissue needs electrical and mechanical stimulation to train - otherwise it's nothing like developed in-vivo muscle.

I can think of a few ways to use this. One, when you are camping and accidentally get lost. It may get cold. A suit that can detect and change its ability to either keep warm or allow to cool would be great! This wpuld be good for paraglider people too because they have to gear up for the colder weather in altitude but can get really warm until in the air.
