From Salt Lake to West Sussex | How Hot Rod legends came to Revival
Вставка

- The Goodwood Revival is the preserve of classic sportscars, elegant fashion and tweed right? Wrong. If you happen to wander away from the main paddocks, over the other side of the track to Gasoline Alley, you've always been able to find a completely different Goodwood Revival world, one full of Americana, V8s and music.
This year, that area not only grew, but positively exploded in size as we celebrated all things hot rod at Goodwood. Helping our hot rod Revival were the legendary Rolling Bones, who came all the way from the USA to show the Revival just what they can do.
We spoke to the man who arranged it all and who looks after Gasoline Alley every year to find out just what makes him obsessed with all things Americana and hot rod, and how the hot rod world ended up meeting the Goodwood Revival.

What would you turn into a hot rod?
Bugatti Type 41 Royale Coupé Napoleon would be pretty cool or perhaps the Railcar on road tyres but with all 23 of the remaining engines (on nitrous).. imagine the noise!
A old school 80s Bmw Evolution.
Would be great with a canary yellow paint job next to a chevy belair
Go Project X
Remember the Projext X Belair?
Oh em geeeee what a freak ride of awesoneness!
@@flannel2699 lol no bugattis.
@@flannel2699 bugatti is way to ugly to be a sleek rod.
That cars to exotic n belongs in the exotics category with the countach n ferrari class customs.
1932 Ford aside,my personal choices can be a Fiat 500 Topolino or a pre-war Mercedes-Benz
Or why not a VW Beetle?.I like Volksrods too
Great video. My first trip to the US in 1980 the gentleman with the flamed '49 Olds took me for a drive in it. It had hydraulics on the front to get it really low. I was just a kid from Sydney but I've never forgotten it.
What an amazing bunch of cars! I’d love to build a retro hot rod ‘32 Ford coupe someday!
Had the pleasure of working with gregg and Rob great guys
great coupes.
cant wait to see a few 32 ford roadsters and belairs.
my father use to have a 34 he raced in SONOMA californi and then drag raced it at sears point in vallejo.
great stuff here.
grew up around the hotrod scene here in california so seeing these nice happy rat rods ripping the pave is really facking awesome.
nothing like early iron on the track!!!!!
From what I gathered there’s only 20 hot rods in all of the UK. the prestige of owning one must feel great!
Just along the South Coast I can think of at least 8 model A's.
He said that they had 70 cars, with 20 coming from the States.
@@henrychubbs2823 i coulda swore i heard it the other way, i believe he said 50 came from the us and the remaining 20 were in Sussex already.
@@nitronick1220 no he said "we had 70 hot rods and 20 gassers."
I'd love to see Jeff Beck bring out a few of his 'home-grown' hot rods . I know they're 'high-end' and 'finished' but come-on , he actually builds them . Love his guitar playing , too .
I love lakes cars, gassers, and old-skool rods. Great episode!✌️❤️🙂
Great video, if not the best I've seen on this channel!!!
Just think.
Modern day kids will never get the excitement of these monsters n how they looked in the 70s80s n 90s.
Really cool seeing these cars respected in thiS video.
"🎶 THEY CALL ME THE WANDERER YAH The Wanderer🎶.
I GO AROUND AROUND AROUND🎶🎸"
Fantastic footage of what must have been a great day.
That looks Brilliant 👍🏻
Awsome ❤
Great 📺👍
Goodwood is the mecca for gearheads
I was going to say the SAME EXACT thing!!!
Oh man, would I love to take my Jaguar-engined Jeepster to this!
0:46 I have one in the same colour 😆😆😆👏👏👏
I wouldn't mind owning that 33/34 coupé....
I as a longtime self-proclaimed Car Guy, no matter what the Manufacturer or classification, restored to rusty people come together. And it would have been a shame to crush history.
Awesome cars.
I was hoping to see racing hot rods
Hot rod racing and is it not NHRA drag racing?.I'm feeling strong TOCA Race Driver 2 vibes.Logically next step is make an exhibition race in a street circuit.Maybe during an Indycar or Supercars Championship weekend
Whyd you guys get rid of all the Revival races, live streams and Members live streams from your UA-cam? Could you please add them back so some of us can watch them.
Hi there, as was stated on all the videos, they were publicly available for six weeks after they event. They are still available to all members of the GRRC community at www.goodwood.com/grr
Let them shoot themselves in the foot. Fewer and fewer people will know about this kind of stuff, and if this channel doesn't want to aid in getting it out there and keeping it known and circulating, well, that's the noose around their own neck for their vanishing and future irrelevance.
@@GoodwoodRR that's an severely misguided moto to have. You guys are shooting yourselves in the proverbial foot with it. You should never hide your racing behind a pay wall, being one of the only motorsports to do that is just wrong any motorsport that hides behind a pay wall is wrong. You should be out celebrating your racing and promoting it not hiding it away.
