My husband's uncle lived there, he passed away now, but when we were up there years ago, that is where I first saw where they were pulling the crabs up from the water. You have a pretty view from where you are sitting. Thank you for the good video. ❤❤😊
During part of my high school years I used to live on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay in a little town called Chestertown, Maryland right across the Bay from Baltimore. We had some of the best seafood 🦞 around anywhere.
Yes, there is some really good seafood in that area. That is one of the reasons we wanted to go back through Baltimore on our way home. Thanks for watching.
Small world we go to Nicks on the way to visit my Kids at the NJ Shore . I get the poorboy oysters, steamers, large steamed blue claws, chowder both types, doz. oysters on half shell when in season then fall asleep in the hotel, lol .... safe travels back to Granite Falls .. MB ..
Glad y'all got to stop in Maryland!! Live 30 miles south of Baltimore in Southern Maryland. Big thing now on the soups here is 50/50 they mix the 2 and serve them. It is yumminess!! Big fan of y'all!!
Yes, we saw th 50/50 on the menu, and started to order it. But we decided we wanted to try each of them separately. I would definitely get the 50/50, or the creamy one again. Probably not the other one. Overall, this was a great place! We appreciate your kinds words so much.
Nick’s looked like a wonderful seafood 🦞 restaurant, so glad you were able to stop on your way home, I love good seafood but not much of a fan of soft shell crab 🦀 I’ve really tried but love most everything else. You guys really had an amazing vacation. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
We love seafood that creamy crab soup looked absolutely wonderful and the shrimp and grits looked delightful, great idea for the old bay on the Mac and Cheese, looked great. Next visit up there, can invision Derrick beating the blue crabs with a hammer😊Thanks for sharing your honest review 😊.
Shawnesi looks like she’s recovered from her chocolate overload nicely, lol! I suppose if you’ve gotta go, chocolate is a great way to do it, huh? Restaurant looks wonderful and we hope to try it someday. Be careful on your travels, folks! 💕🛣️🚘
I like cream of crab soup the best as well. Maryland Crab soup is basically vegetable soup with crab instead of beef. Cream of Crab is always very creamy and loaded with crab. Sooooo good. It looks like a great place to eat. Thsnks for the excellent review.
Here in Southern Pennsylvania on the Mason Dixon Line the Maryland crab soup has it's flavor from claw meat while the cream of crab flavor is from the back fin. Entirely different flavors.
OMG, I grew up about 5 miles from there. Didn't know if you stopped by the cross st market. That used to be another great place. Please be careful, Baltimore isn't what it used to be.
Yeah, I know Baltimore can be a really dangerous place. Honestly, we didn't do any sightseeing. It was Sunday afternoon, and we both had to work the next day. We just stopped for lunch.
I'm from Maryland.... You need to go to Kent Narrow on the eastern shore and go to Harris crab house or Stoney creek inn on Stoney creek .That is in Pasadena Md.
Great review and I agree with you on avoiding the crab mess! We lived in Havre de Grace MD for 6 years, just North of Baltimore. (I worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground) Have you made it home? Thanks..........
Beautiful restaurant on the water. We have been wanting to make a trip to Baltimore. It's been awhile since we have been there. We used to go to Camden Yards yearly to see the Yankees! Derrick, Your shrimp looked delicious! What was the total for your meal? Do you think it was worth it? The restaurants in Baltimore tend to be expensive like you mentioned. Nice job on your video!
I don't know how I missed this comment before. I would have responded yesterday. We actually went right by Camden Yards on our way. If you look at the drone footage in the beginning, you can see both Camden Yards and the Ravens' Stadium as I'm going up with the drone, to the left of the screen. I'll have to try to find the exact total of the bill, but it was pretty much what you would pay around Myrtle Beach area. It was a lot cheaper than some of the other places in Baltimore on the water, that we priced. This was more in line with what you would pay around Calabash or Myrtle Beach.
Looks like the meal was right around $70 before tip. I was trying to rack my brain, figuring out how it got so high, but I forgot that we each got a bowl of the soup, which was $10 per bowl. So, that added $20 to it. If we hadn't gotten that, it would have been around $50. I would say that it was worth it. The traffic between DC and Richmond, kind of made me wish we hadn't gone back that way. But the restaurant itself, was great. If I were in Baltimore, I would certainly go back. You will definitely need microphones, especially if you sit outside. It was deafening out there. And the band wasn't exactly singing family-friendly songs. I was very glad that we ended up eating inside. Besides the fact that it was about 100°.
I just watched your Boardwalk Billy’s and then the Baltimore episodes you guys did. I was curious why you didn’t order a proper pot of steamed crab legs or steamed whole blue crabs. You said you liked it at Billy’s. But fried shrimp you can get anywhere. Just curious.
I actually addressed in the Nick's Fish House video, why I didn't order crabs. I mentioned it in the close-out. It wasn't feasible to get that, since we had a long drive home.
@@waynespyker5731 I was not aware of that rule for eating seafood. I've tried cocktail sauce, and I prefer tartar sauce by a lot. I use tartar sauce on any and all seafood.
Hi curious what the temp was that day and the temp inside the restaurant. I am considering checking this place out but I don’t like high temps. Oddly some pics I’ve found online look like it’s open air but when I look at your video it appears to be indoors. Is it well air conditioned?
Hello. Thank you for watching. Like we mentioned in the closeout, it worked out better that we sat inside, instead of the open air area. First, the open air area was extremely noisy, the band was playing songs with vulgarity in them, and it was scorching hot...Close to 100°. Where we sat, was the indoor section, and it was well air conditioned. Very comfortable inside. If you prefer to sit open air and outside, I would go on a comfortable day. If it is very hot, I would opt for indoors with air conditioning. You have both options. There is also an upstairs deck, which is nice. The food is great.
Not a fan of Baltimore or DC, either. The traffic around DC was a nightmare. But since we were coming back that way, and since Baltimore is known for seafood, we wanted to try it.
I’m from Baltimore🦀🦀🦀Nick’s is One of the Best!!!!
Yes, we agree. We haven't tried all the others, but we were well pleased with what we got.
My husband's uncle lived there, he passed away now, but when we were up there years ago, that is where I first saw where they were pulling the crabs up from the water. You have a pretty view from where you are sitting. Thank you for the good video. ❤❤😊
You are very welcome. Sorry about your uncle's passing. Yes, blue crabs are a big thing there.
I have been there with my daughter and granddaughter the food was good and the service was great. Baltimore MD 🙏 l lived near there south Baltimore.
Nice! Thanks for watching our video. Glad you enjoyed it.

That creamy crab soup was amazing. It is definitely the one I would recommend, of the two.

Neat place. I'd definitely do the cream of crab soup. Shrimp were huge.

I have had both kinds of crab soup. I agree with you. The cream of crab is my favorite as well.
Yes, by a lot.
You need to do 50/50 soup. Half Maryland crab, half cream of crab. The perfect combo♥️
That was on the menu, but we wanted to try and review both kinds. That's why we ultimately got 2 bowls.
That was a beautiful place

Old Bay or JO spice

Take the Hanover Street exit right off of Rte 95. Nick’s is right there.
We're already back home now. But I did mention in the very beginning, that it was just off of Interstate 95.
