Most "common" or "kitchen" canaries in the USA are descendants of the American Singer and are often called "American Singer" by mistake. A true American Singer will have a leg band noting that it is a pure-bred American Singer.

fawn
or variegated.
But a true registered American Singer may not be color fed or crested if it is going to be entered in a show. However, you can certainly color feed your pet home canary bird.
The American Singer Canaries are of the few canary's that are judged BOTH for appearance and song. They are of average size...about 5 3/4 inches long.

Elga Konietzny why not? every canary has different tones which he got from his parents and if you mix roller with border canaries you may get new tones. But it should have freedom, variety, and melodiousness of its song

you tube has removed ALL videos with american singers,,,my american singer was very happy to sing along,,,now after his molt it would be so great to have at least one video of one hour to play,,,and get this All the 2-3 min, videos,,dont play,,,,i am feeling upset,,,,also it looks like mine has much of watershlager in his song as well,,,oh,,,and those ones have also been removed as i had played them too every day
