How to Tie a WEEDLESS Pike Fly?! - Tie TV - Niklaus Bauer
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 вер 2024
- Often when fly fishing for pike, you find the fish close to or hidden inside the weed - which might sometimes be a problem with regular flies which will easily get snagged in the vegetation.
In this episode of Tie TV, Niklaus Bauer will tie a weedless pike fly that you can fish where the fish are - without getting snagged.
Will you tie this fly? Where would you use it? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

1st time I've watched fly tying video, omg that's amazing a hobby in a hobby.
I watthed your UA-cam on weedless pike fly on Brammer swimbait hook. I saw you pinching on the splitshot for weight. I am using a conehead weight and tying it at various points along the lower horizontal portion of that hook. I am tying some flies with the conehead at different places to change the balance point. I even put a conehead on the diagonal part of the shaft and the flies dip forward. Think about it and let me know what you think, if you would like to. I have not been able to fish them for pike or musky yet, I loved your halibut video. I live in North Dakota USA and am a long way froaltwater. The halibut video was spectacular. You and Gunnar Brammer are my favorite tying and flyfishing videos. Your innovations have helped me build pike and muskie flies. Tight lines , Kirk Peters, Hazen ND, USA
I've not been fly fishing yet. been only spin fishing up until now. made my first order on a fly kit 1 week ago. can't wait till i can try it out. this is so beautiful handwork, it's simply art! Makes me really hiped to try out some pike fishing with fly!! Nice job!
What a great idea with the worm hook. That pattern will work great in Australia on Murray cod amongst the snags👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing that pattern.
That sound really cool! We need some pics of that when you’ve tried! 😀 /Pontus
Perfect Fly for my first Pike with a fly rod. Can´t wait until the closed saison is over here in the south of Germany
Lookes great Niklaus. I have the same problem with bad hooking with these kind of hooks....
Great video and amazing pike flies...Niklaus Bauer the best !
This looks awesome, so far I have only used 5 or 8g jig head flies for pike here in the uk. That said the pike love them
Awesome fly 👍
Шикардос.
Great tying and very clear explanations. Thank you
We’re glad to hear you like these videos!
Awesome Niklaus! This is like an art project that catches fish!
Amazing video, as always! Thank you ones again Nicklaus, for inspiring. Now it is time to hit the vise 👍😉
Like always, a beatifull fly !
Nice fly and a great video!
Really cool pattern😎. I will tie it until the late summer begin and we will see what will happen in the weed banks😁👊
Good job pal, impeccably tied.
Great fly! love to try it out!
as always great tying
Sweet! Thanks man
Nice fly !👍
Absolutely mortal pattern! Yesterday in the vegetation (they could be cast almost) everywhere, third meter pike for me (and the second on this pattern). A little more dull than the one shows by Niklaus here, simply a sort of roach. Try these babies they works deadly! 5minutes later another of 89 cm. Thanks master Niklaus.
Another great video! Wish we had pike here.
Detta var en jätte bra video för de som precis har börjat att binda egna flugor och även för lite mer erfarna 👍❤️
Kul att du gillar den! ❤️
Denna är riktigt bra om man är helt nybörjare på flugbindning:

I'm intrigued about the Dragon Tail and the Fast Clips. Nice fly.
Been waiting for this all day!!!! 👍👌🤟
Now that you went through all this to make it, wrap it up and send it to me. Nice job there! ;)
Nice one 👍 Another greeting from south Germany 😉
Looks like something i need to try out 🎣
Must make one for tomorrow.....
Nice Fly!! Ans Really nice Color :D
Nice looking fly ! I need to get some dragon tails. I don't do much Pike fishing, but I live 1/2 mile from a river that has muskies in it.
I have taken a pike of 101 cm today on your Fly Niklaus. A black version weedless and barbless of course.
Still jealous of your tying skills mister Bauer. Somehow I always end up out of space at the hook eye even though it looks like you use more material than I do 🤯. Oh well must be those years of experience of chasing pike and weed 😉
Another great tie. Niklaus got me interested in pike flyfishing with the video Mean Green Fight Machine but I never caught one on the fly. Where I am from (north of Portugal) there's not many places to fly fish for pike specially without a boat, which I don't have. Probably my flies are not the best either 😂 be kind to send me the fly to see if can at least have a strike. If you don't, please continue to post videos. I'll be happy too. All the best.
Thanks man we will :-)
New drinking game:
Take a sip everytime Niklaus says "Run".
Anyways, nice fly! :D
Hmmm what would I do with a fly tied by mr Bauer himself? I’d be tempted to just frame it and hang it on the wall.....but nah I’d probably try to pull some pike out of the ever growing thicker weedbeds here in the Netherlands! 😬
Nicolaus thank you please advise what kind of vise you are using and the kind of stand you use for holding your flash. Both will make my bucktail building easier. Enjoyed the video, well done.
Great video! What is the length of the dragon tail connector wire? And the diameter of titanium wire? :).
Already follow you guys on Instagram... love the fly, I just find it hard to believe that you will send this to Canada if I win it!
Yesssssssssss this is the shiiiit! I’ll be giving this a go! But please send it to me so I can copy 🤣😘🤘
Is there stil a list with the used materials?
Greetings from Belgium! 🎣
great vid
hello boy ... congratulations for your work ... I can know where you buy the materials and what do you use !?
Hi Nicklaus please can you tell me where you got you rotating flash stands from cheers
Amazing work! Thank you. However I cannot see the complete list of materials! :/
Dear Niklaus,
I really love you work . But I have a demand : can give in the description the size of the different models?
Indeed is not always easy to see the size and the different proportion just by looking the video. I think giving the size of the different model is also a good way to see the differences between the model.
Thank you for you awesome work
Thanks for the video. I am really struggling to keep my hook straight when on the articulating part. The hook seems to droop down almost to a 45 degree angle.
Is there a trick to keeping it straight? Or once on the water it does not matter?
Still waiting for the ice to come off the lakes in Canada but I am excited to get my fly rod wet for the first time in 16 years!

Why dont you sell the polar reflector flash in your shop?? :)
It’s available in most stores who sell Fly-Dressing products in Sweden and some in Europe. It’ll soon be available at kanalgratis.se as well 👍🏼 /Pontus
kanalgratisdotse just ordered!!! Great stuff man! 😄👌🏻
Material list will not pop up. Where did you get the colored buck tail?
Where do you get the curley tails for this fly
Hi Niklaus, where do you get your flash stands from
now off to find some weed 😏
Where can I get a rack like your tisel rack you got on your table?
Would love to buy a couple of these flys. Do you sell them anywhere?
Mándame una por favor que las pruebe en España poorfa
Nice.
Man kanske skulle damma av gamla havsöringsspöt & åka ut till stubbvassarna. :)
...so perfectly passed through the weeds...
What size dragon tail is it ?
Can you please update the material list. It doesnt work anymore:(
You just loooove running don´t you... :P hehehe
Brilliant m8 do you sell on eBay?
