Agree, except perhaps the University educated youth who (as described by MG) are heavily invested in neoliberalism (and cancel culture), and don’t realise their minds have been closed to alternative world views; which is the opposite of what a traditional university education would have accomplished.

This situation is very similar to what happened to Iran when the left and the Islamists joined forces and deposed the Shah of Iran in 1979. The several hundred public executions showed the left who was in power - and it was not the left. Also look up what happened to Lebanon when they allowed refugees from Gaza into the country in the 60's and 70's. The country was dragged into a civil war that lasted 15 years and changed from a Christian ruled country to a Islam ruled country - once the islamists had slaughtered thousands of Christians (10,000) and Druzes (6,000).
Islam and fascism have a far stronger connection - Hitler admired the strength of Islam, compared with Christianity which he saw as a religion of weakness. Senior Nazis converted to Islam and fled to Egypt after WW2 (Johann von Leers being a famous example). Robert Gordon-Canning of the British Union of fascists was also quite a fan of Islam…

It has now changed beyond all recognition and very much run on strict Islamic lines. I learned this after watching a documentary and listening to people who were born there and had left ,not from personal experience.
