Nelson and the Tasman area is lovely. I was surprised you’d jump from the west coast up to the Tasman region so quickly.Did you not make it up the great coastal Road on the coast? It’s amazing. The Pancake Rock, Cape Fowlwind to the seal colonies. The Rain Forest is quite different up there. Lots of Nekau Palms. It more tropical looking. Also a trip up Denniston Hills. The mining history is very interesting and the views are incredible. Back in the eighteen hundreds the miner went up the hill in the coal truck, as the road wasn’t there until the twenties. The woman found the trip so horrific that they stayed up there all their lives only to come down to be laid to rest in the cemetery at the bottom of the hill. Also Karamere is worth a trip.. The start of the Heafy Track starts from there. Maybe at a later date. It’s well worth a trip. If you back around Hokitika, go for a drive around Lake Kaniere. Lots of nice walk around the lake and in the bush. They have an ancient Mattai tree there. It’s around 2000 years old. Drive in to Lake Kaniere and around the back of the lake. The tree is in there somewhere. Then back through Kokatahi lovely area. Think you can freedom camp there. A trip through the Buller George is also lovely.
Glen & Mado, another brilliant presentation this time in Nelson "WOW" thank you so much for you enjoyable walk about totally uplifting & informative, looking forward to part 2/ loving it...
I love the sound of cicadas. The first cicada of summer always brings a smile to my face. There's a stretch of road on the Kapiti coast that's lined with poplar and willow trees. And every summer those trees become cicada hook-up central. The noise is incredible... they drown out nearly everything else.
Yes well, when the dentists come out of Otago University; a town that has fluoridated water and little decay, they are shocked and horrified at the dental decay in Christchurch, where there is not fluoridated drinking water.
True, the fluoride is good. But when the dentists come out of Otago and find other parts of NZ not so hopelessly woke and constrained by their indoctrination do they likewise roll their eyes? I hope they do. Perhaps they don't.

Well done guys, I'm planning a big trip to NZ at the end of the year (just six weeks not 10 months!) and ive been watching your videos and im totally addicted. After each video I'm deciding whether i should add it to my list of places to visit. I know youre trip isn't finished yet but id love to see a "best way to spend 4/6 weeks" video! Thanks guys! Youre alot of fun to watch
Awesome! I’m a South Island kiwi, I hope your trip is incredible! Six weeks will go quick, there is just so much to see here. If I can give you some advice, South Island is more spectacular than the north, people are more friendly too lol. Plan more time for the South Island than the north. It is expensive, but you will never see anything like this place anywhere else in the world, it’s incredibly unique and the scenery changes every corner you turn. Roads are pretty full on and it takes longer than you think to get from one place to the next. Plus you want to stop all the time and just soak in the scenery. A lot of people miss the really good parts, as they go to the “touristy spots” go off the beaten track as much as possible. Weather can be changeable here, so bring a warm jacket even if you are coming in the summer. If I can recommend one place you have to see, please visit Able Tasman National Park - it’s not too far from Nelson. You can take a boat and get dropped off on some of the beaches, then you can walk part of the walk. It’s incredibly beautiful. ❤ hope you have a blast!
I spent 25 years growing up in Nelson before moving back down south. Its a stunning region and extremely beautiful although its very expensive now and the traffic around Richmond is nuts. I suggest checking out Wakefield bakery, sublime coffee and of your into the suter art gallery, red art gallery and cafe, the the isle park night market which is in stoke at isle park on a Thursday night during the summer months. Normally from labour weekend until the end of summer and yes the region can get very hot and dry over the summer months.

Hi guys and loved your Nelson presentation. Have lived here all my life. So much have enjoyed your You Tube channel. Just come back from Cromwell and looked up Sanga Pies that you visited. The Holy Smoke was awesome and thanks for the recommendation. Safe travels.
Great place that I lived in for eleven years from 1979 when I was working from there as a pilot, although it has changed quite a bit since then, however the climate is still the same and the best in New Zealand. I used to live at Tahunanui and it is a big summer holiday area and Nelson is an area that is a good place for boating and yachting.
Hey guy's still enjoying your amazing videos. You both look great, I suppose you picked up a few mementoes of NZ.....👍we watched your video from Nelson, one of our top 10 places in NZ! If we were back there, you both be surely welcomed in our home, keep having fun, keep recording those amazing videos they will always be memories of a lifetime 😊Love the vibe ❤️
you walked past & missed the german meat caravan ,demerit points for that you could have got some bratwurst to go with the bread ,they also sell them single cooked on the grill in a bun with mustard sauce they are delicious .They are German folk themselves & all their products are from old school German recipes seriously good . Highly recommended .
But guys, dental costs in NZ are expensive and out of reach for many NZers, and studies show there are no adverse problems with fluoride in public water. I know its not for everyone and lots of people don't like it but It's essential for many.
Well said, I totally agree. My ex mother-in-law from CHC always made such a big thing of how bad our water tastes in Dunedin, but I'd rather have the fluoride, thank you. It tastes just fine.
Haha ... I've been living in Nelson for 7 years. The vibe is very Twin Peaks here - the weirdest people I've ever lived around. It's super nice during the summer though for sure... Suuuuucks during like the 8 months of the year. It's fairly boring with every shop closing by like 5pm with most not bothering to open on Sunday or Monday. It's mainly just a bunch of rich old eccentric white people who complain a lot and like to corner you to talk about conspiracy theories for uncomfortable amount of time. Nelson is the home of zero self awareness... But it's really pretty during the summer anyhow.
