Thank you very much for these videos. You are probably the best artist currently showing us this great app. I asked the concepts team about tutorials and suggested looking at yours as examples. Some of the ConceptsApp functions are hard to master. The watercolor paint brushes is extremely difficult to control, I suggested 'classes' for these items. You should be asked to be one IMHO😉
I think the main difficult is all objects are opaque so the drawing sequence is important. The other thing is they have many wonderful brushes so you will have to take the time to test them to see how to make best use for them. Currently my favourite brushes are the Soft Pencil and Chalk for creating textured pencil-like sketches. You can see some here www.parkablogs.com/picture/concepts-app-review-sketching-vector-and-infinite-canvas
Awesome. Thank you for sharing. Can you do a video on printing your Procreate sketchbook? I do all my sketches on my iPad when traveling and would like to print a book of my travels. Cheers!
Just wondering can you share how much have you spent to get all the features you wanted with this app. It didn't include editing with the free version.
I can't remember. Anyway, I highly recommend getting the Essentials Pack (maybe US $10-15) because that will unlock most of the more useful features, e.g. unlimited layers, transfer, tap & select. All the other paid brushes are nice to have but not necessary.
@@windynotes It really depends on which art style you prefer. I recommend you test Concepts for a few days first before you decide to buy. You can compare it easily to Procreate if you already have that. If you don't have Procreate, Procreate is definitely worth buying. It may be better to buy Procreate first, and take your time to test Concepts. The digital art process with these two apps are quite different.
Yes, wanted to try Procreate but no trial available (watched youtube). So I went for Concepts for a few reasons - infinite canvas, vector graphics, precision scale n the clean UI. The other is Affinity Designer but that's too advanced. Haha. Appreciate your replies & advice.
@@windynotes Affinity Designer is a totally different software compared to Concepts and Procreate which are drawing software. You can glance through these tutorials to get an idea of what Affinity Designer is used for. affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/designer/desktop/
Will you please review two of these following books? 1) Peggy Dean's guide to Nature drawing & watercolor 2) Watercolour techniques & tutorials for the complete beginner by Paul Clark
@@teohyc yeah, I understand, Procreate is fantastic tool, but the facts that Concepts is vector graphics on unlimited size canvas available not only for Apple Pencil, make it a lot more versatile for a number of people interested in hand-drawn digital graphics/art.
I'm a big fan of watching people whoa re actually good at drawing draw. I feel like way too many youtubers who aren't very good get way too much popularity. You need to watch Teoh Yi Chie, Stato, Hodraws_official, the artist who draws the manga Levius, etc.
Hi Teoh, I've been following you for a long time and appreciate your work and professionalism. But with this video I have to correct you a bit. There is not just the one (or the two nearby) vanishing point behind the traffic light. The lines narrow upward, which means somewhere in the sky there is another vanishing point.
Which elements are contributing to the VP in the sky? If the VP is not on the horizon line/eye level, it means the thing that's making the VP is either going upwards or downwards (e.g. stairs, slopes).
Always inspired by your sketches and painting

It made me so happy to see this Teoh! It’s such a beautiful drawing and definitely makes my photo look way more interesting and beautiful! Thank you 🤗
Hey just curious how did you get so good at drawing or what did you do to get good? Im just curious since im planning on getting into drawing myself

I don't print my digital sketches. To print, you just have to export them out in the file format required by the printer/service.
What tablet is this?
Samsung Tab S8 Ultra

The essentials pack at the moment is S$22, which cost more than the Procreate app. Which do you recommend as the more intuitive to use? Thanks.

First!
I came for tech reviews but I stayed for your beautiful sketches. I really enjoy your style.
Wow I really enjoyed this video Teoh. Never done digital art but it certainly looks fun. Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice video, although this could be the worst app for illustration, I guess vectornator is much better when it comes to vector drawing.

Concepts on Samsung Tab S7. It seems to be Your most standard digital sketcher gear. Have you learned, practiced and used Procreate, too?
I use Procreate, but I don't use it as much as Concepts

Did you screen record this process or is there a way to play back your sketching process in Concepts like there is in Procreate ???
It's a screen recorder app. Concepts does not have built-in screen recorder

Why do you switch to digital sketching lately? I prefer your watercoloring much better.

Really liking the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, eh?
The paper and Watercolors, that's all there is to it...
Can any of xp pen stylus work on Android tablet such as s6 lite...they are available easily and quite affordable....but don't know if it will work
Will not work

Concepts. It's in the title *and* the description...
