Revital. This is AMAZING! I've never known how to go "Job Hunting" in Israel. I just assumed I'd have to be 100% fluent in Hebrew in order to get a job in Israel. It never occurred to me that there are English speaking jobs and that American business experience might be useful or even in demand in Israel. I'm mind blown! Thank you for this perspective. It also never occurred to that a former American like Stacy would be a recruiter in Israel!
She's right though. Being assertive in following up without being aggressive and selfish is the way to go in case the recruiter or hiring manager has forgotten about you. She also a couple of American terms. A PSA is a free television or radio publicity announcement called a Public Service Announcement. Its like a commercial announcement from the local government Public Health Department reminding people to wear a face mask during the Covid pandemic. She also used the casual term "Oomph" when explaining that it's OK to follow up with recruiters. "Oomph" is techically not an English world. But it's a casual, fun way to say "Enthusiasm". For example, movie director could tell an actor to put some more "Oomph" in that line. In other words, put some more energy or emphasis or enthusiasm in that line.
Great video! Really reassuring. You could spark a lot of immigration with this information! Thanks.
