The DEPSTECH brand have a few different models, including a triple lens, that are about $100 or less. The main units probably aren't waterproof, but the video quality looks to the same as the Teslong. The Car Care Nut channel has some diagnosis videos using one. That's probably the one most want to get in 2023.

VERY well done review. This is the one that cemented my decision to go with the Teslong. I’m a diesel engine tech and have extensive experience with a wide range of scopes ranging from a $150 Autel MV400 (which is a decent tool for the price and had served me well for 5+ years) to a $10,000 Karl Storz German made scope which is pretty much a work of art and provides over the top resolution and capabilities but at times is almost too good /cumbersome for the situations I have to work in (confined spaces etc) The Teslong appears to be the best compromise as far as capability and quality goes. I was thiiiiis close to buying a sub $100 duel lens unit from Amazon figuring the technology had come far enough in recent years that it would be a safe gamble. This video (thankfully) steered me clear and I decides to bite the bullet and invest wisely.

Sold me on the Dual Camera. I'm getting for some sewer pipe inspection but don't want to limit use. Only other bit I need to confirm if you can get multiple lengths of camera? 5M for pipes but don't want to wrestle with that for say engine or short work then there's even 10M for some true exploring. -thx

Are you sure you got your numbers correct? 1920x1080 is higher resolution on the old camera than the 1280x720 resolution on the newer camera. I realize the frame rate is faster on the newer camera, which does make it better, but resolution is resolution. I do realize the cheaper cam uses Mpeg-3 vs Mpeg-4 and this can make a difference, but not as much as the resolution. Something doesn't add up here.

I know this super narrow camera doesn't have the auto focus but does it have a manual button to focus or just by moving camera closer and farther? I also assume it doesn't have the little handy attachments like hooks,magnets.... great inspection camera though. Is this the best you've seen around the 250/300 price..... thanks

Im going to buy it. I had a $350 snap on unit that is complete garbage. Its been replaced twice in the first 2 years, both the body and the camera. Then its been repaired 3 times outside warranty costing $120 a pop. Luckily my shop bought it from me after the first out of warranty repair. So I havent paid the repair bills on it. Im out $200. One big thing that scope had though was a 5mm camera which is essential to get into the injector hole of diesel engines. This camera looks like its good quality and has the 5mm camera. So I'll be buying one and trying it out.

Nice video! Those little attachment mirrors will never work properly because the light shines forward, into the mirror instead of to the side, into the mirror's viewing area. My advice to mechanics is to get the dual camera scope. One can be bought for $100 and up.

    • @kayakfish9912

Agree, plus unless it’s a very high end scope it’s rarely a true optical grade mirror but usually a highly polished piece of metal. Pretty much useless.

It would've been blurry. The side camera also needs 3/4" - 1" (19 - 25mm) minimum to be clear. Inside a 12ga shotgun barrel you could've used it with reasonable sharpness. Thanks for watching!
