Not bad for an excellent car that suffered unjustifiably with a bad image.
X-type was very good, based off a Ford Mondeo which is also an excellent car.

The guy on the skis is lucky that he didnt get hit riding that close to a car that could have hit a soft spot in the snow and gotten sucked one way or the other. Definitely a cool video though!

Ken Block copied Jeremy Clarkson. This show (Speed) aired in 2001, Ken Block in Mtn Lab 1.5 wasn't until 2007.
I have one of these; going up hill would better a different story, the AWD Jaguar X Type grips well however.

@@chris425amp7 I cant post any longer or view comments, nice change to come here behind the bell; yes mine has to go by Oct 8 as the next control will be due then and it wont pass without spending quite a bit, plus petrol cars here prior to 2006 will be restricted on certain roads, a sad day for me, love the car!

@idworkhard ...that guy can probably ski as good as he can walk and that would be like saying dont walk on a sidewalk, you can trip and fall and go under a car... besides its tv and it was cool entertainment, leave it be..
never attempt this at home...i was terrified by the way the skier was so close to the car: what if smth went wrong and he went right under the damn jag?

for one, it's planned... for two, the skier could easily outmaneuver the car if something started to go wrong..

Impossible for any car to do that? They must have used chains and adapted the car in some way
no, it isnt impossible, many cars have done it. only adaption to that jag was fitting some snow tyres

I liked USA top gear when they raced a new EVO up a mountain pass then down the mountain racing through the snow with 2 skiers. Much more entertaining
The real trick would be to drive it UPHILL. Subaru AWD cars don't eat their halfshafts the way the AWD Jag does. Nice video but that Jaguar was a mechanical disaster. Nothing tops the Ken Block in the Mtn Lab video.
Actually going down is much trickier, you're puting your trust mostly in whatever tyres you've on.
The first and only time an X-Type did something awesome.
