LUTETIA PARISIORUM was the original Roman name for the city and was eveturlly shortened to just Paris
In regards to the STOP sign fact, I'm pretty sure the Mairie de Paris decided to remove it a couple years ago because people kept stealing it since it was "rare". So I think there are now no STOP signs in Paris.

I've been to Paris several times - the most recent in December of 2019. This video brought back several very good memories.
I was in Paris in 2014, and LOVED it! Beautiful city with plenty to see. My favorite part was seeing the catacombs (which I'm surprised didn't get a mention in this video).
Also, I thought we were friends, Sam! 😭
The catacombs don't get much attention in mainstream media.

Before the 1850's, Paris had a lot of smal old medieval streets, which could easily be used by insurrectionists, like the revolutionaries in the July Monarchy, or the 1832 June Rebellion, who could make barricades out of furniture within 15 minutes. Now they are a lot wider so the army can come in and take out the insurrectionists.
I had a friend of mine his wife was there for a shopping spree and she got mugged and a bystander tried to help her but he out ran him she probably won't go back anytime soon
