- We gotta defend the base in Mission 117 of the recently released Earth Defense Force 6 played on Hard difficulty on PlayStation 5 with added English Subtitles.
Mission 117: Crisis at Base 228
--------
We did it, civilian!
We'll be save once we get back to the surface.
We have to meet up with the troops and deal with the situation.
So this is where we say our goodbyes.
...at least that's what I'd like to say, but don't worry.
We'll get you to home first.
--------
This is a remix of EDF5's Missions 3 + 4, Crisis in Base 228: Part 1 + 2
Note: I'm not native speaker so the translation might not be 100% correct. I also didn't translate all the random lines the soldiers sometimes spout during battle, only the main dialogue!
It's still useful for anyone who doesn't want to wait for a western release.

You know you've found a peak EDF hype moment when signs of victory plays all the way to the end. I absolutely love how EDF 6 takes the moments from 5 were we were originally powerless to fight or stop the primers, and let us properly fight them and defeat them this time around while also making it as hype as possible. Not only does it make sense story-wise but it's also insanely satisfying.
I saw Hachiryu Akatsuki's stream of him using a Fencer to blast through this level. Not only this is a massive dopamine rush in terms of story, they also made the BEST stage for weapon and armor farming.
They way he looks the soldiers going near him in his barga is hilarious lol, and also that final move is really epic
I saved that one for last 😏
Absolutely loved this mission when I went through it. Such recognition from his compatriots and them wanting to protect the “civilian”. Amazing :)
This mission is the best one in EDF6. It really turns the EDF5 tutorial up to "11" and lets you play out how it could have gone if you werent forced to retreat the first time.
@@inversepie6512 Also makes you a badass since the Nyx/Nix don't activate and steal your kills.
Hero is not a civilian anymore 確かに彼はもう民間人じゃない😅
yeah, because that timeline storm one was a "security guard"(ranger)
Man, that sequence got my heart pumping! That was crazy fun to watch for sure :D
It's an amazing mission for sure, especially for all EDF5 players.
More than EDF1+2 or EDF3+4, I think that EDF5+6 really is _one_ complete package, two parts of one whole 😁
AHHHHHH THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!
Only day 1 and there are already Signs of Victory? This is shaping to be a good loop. EDF! EDF! EDF!!!
*_EDF! EDF!_*
This mission is awesome! It almost feels like a little reward for playing so far. Thanks for translating this game!
You're welcome, glad you enjoy it! And yes, these last two missions are awesome - and there's still more to come! 😊
"Abandon base! Withdraw immediately!"
Storm 1: "...No...that's the mistake we made _last_ time!"
Just a nice feel-good mission, really.
Primers: Drops lots of teleportation anchors.
Storm 1: "And I took that personally".
Stormguy: "So anyway, I started blastin'..."
@@Geckogold
Storm1: you have activated my trap card, Activation code!
*barga raises from ground*
Storm1: Liberty prime is now online
thats a mistake we made a dozen time ago hahahaha....
Man I love that Sign of Victory is mostly used for epic fights that we'll definitely win now instead of
"We have the advantage" and then immediately replaced one minute later cause the Primers deploys a counter for it
And this moment is the most badass use of Sign of Victory in the entire franchise (World Brothers not withstanding). What's most impressive though, is the build-up to that moment: You're supposed to be a civilian, then all of a sudden the EDF base turns into hell on earth. The infantry went on "WTF that civilian is doing", and then they realize what you're doing. You're trying to avoid the same mistakes in the past.
And you succeed. The "EDF! EDF!" chanting just adds more to the hype and satisfaction of standing on top, instead of running away like happened the last time, and turning the tables.
Man, way to make the player feel like an absolute badass, defying the odds like that. I can't wait for the US release!!!
Sarge: "That's no ordinary civilian."
Storm 1: "You know the old man in the asylum? The one who claims to be from the future? It's thanks to him I'm here."
When I played this mission I thought it was hilarious that all the troops that were retreating came running back seeing that you're holding the base xD
But it's a FUCK YEAH moment when you realize that you've just witnessed the genocide of human race (and by proxy, pretty much almost all of life on Earth... to the point of taking centuries at best to recover from the onslaught). Then, with some crazy time travel shenanigans, you've got a second chance to kick aliens in the ass.
Mind you, the games usually end up with an almost lifeless wasteland, and then... it's time to go back. DAWN OF THE FIRST DAY, 72 HOURS REMAINING. This time you know what to do. You know where to strike.
It's time for revenge. Let's attack aggressively.
The whole time I just imagine storm 1 sitting behind Bargas’ controls mad smile on his face, red demon eyes and laughing hysterically.
"Retreat, I repeat, retreat! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"
Storm 1: "The only thing they fear... is ME."
_+doom soundtrack kicks in+_
Doomguy: The Bane of Hell.
Storm-1: The Bane of the Extraterrestrial.
Combo of two missions here from EDF5 with another instance of catharsis from not being allowed to take out the towers before. Not sure the barga would be my go to for the mission though seeing as you lose out on a lot of boxes unless you get out before the last teleportation anchor is destroyed (understand you did for the dialogue though)
Just do a simple continuous left and right punch with the Barga.
You can hit both the ants and towers easily with that.
For hitting the ants just look down as you do the continuous left and right punch.
The simple Punches has a huge swing and hitbox enough to hit a lot of ground enemies, heck you can even hit the ones clinging unto you with those punches.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!
The moment I entered the Barga. I immediately swiping the arms like crazy before the barga get destroyed. It was intense as hell.
They really went at the base this time. Not just sending in a huge force, they sent Mothers as well. I don't think the Nix activated or something. They utterly destroyed the ants when they got online in EDF5.
Looks like a bug, considering the line that they are finally activated.
WE DID IT!! WE PROTECT THE BASE!!! EDF! EDF! EDF!!
Looks like this'll be a nice farming mission. Also, if the Barga controls are the same as EDF5's, push the middle mouse button, then when it's is doing that fist pump, pressing the left mouse button causes it to do a nice 360 roundhouse attack. Awesome for smacking Erginus and Archelus with.
I think the controls are the same but I have to admit, I'm not good with vehicles in this games. I actually struggled quite a bit to get Barga to go where I wanted it to go. So while it got the job done, it's probably not the most graceful display of Barga steersmanship 😅
@@cenorexia Storm 1: "Sir, I don't have my Barga Crane license yet!"
The Sargent: "I don't care! Just get inside and start swinging! And if Ergunius shows up Just Punch Him In The Face!" Storm 1 somehow makes the Barga spin like a top and demolishes every ravager in sight. LOL
I have to say "if you have some Super Robot Music , play it!! when you ride barga you can feel how you strong"
If the Barga appears in the SRW games, it would be quite terrible because it will struggle to hit anything that can move unless it's a Kaiju.
But the power would be amazing, especially the upgraded Barga.
Its only attack is equivalent to those final attacks from other Giant Robots
I'd really like to see another attempt at a strategy game, but with the EDF5/6 setting and a bit more modernized.
Teams like Spriggan or Grim Reaper could be "hero units" and the mechs would also fit right in.
Something like Advance Wars but with an EDF coating.
@@cenorexia The Tactical EDF game that I had in my mind would be similar to that EDF tactical game but with customizable units. There would be a strategic element to it similar to XCOM games.
If you do well in battles or win with less losses, you get more resources which you can dedicate to improving your weapons.
Your EDF soldiers are in squads, very much like Advanced Wars style but you can customize their weapons, so you can have Shotgun rangers as shock troops and Sniper rangers to pick off bigger threats.
Same goes for WD and Fencers, Air Raiders are a bit hard to balance, which is why you don't see AI Air Raiders in EDF games.
Your EDF Squads can gain experience and become Veterans and eventually Elite units like the Grim Reapers and Spriggans. You also also have 1 main Hero squad like the Storm team. With the Storm team, you can mix and match classes and each one of Storm team members have much better combat perfomance than any EDF soldier but they start off rather weak.
As for repeating mission, I would suggest some limitations like a deployment cost. But you can always deploy Storm team, to reflect the players playing the EDF games to grind their armor and weapons.
With this game being tactical, it will give more variety in terms of missions and conditions, rather than Kill all enemies or Survive Wave X.
@@cenorexia There is a Japan only Gigantor game that is similar and it allows for much faster robot battles. They are intentionally making it slow.
Damn... how i missed that brink of victory soundtrack plus ya get to use the robot in the earlier past
Amazing! That's absolutely amazing! :D Oh man I can't wait for it to finally release for the West so I can play this with my friend together :D
Very strategic to get the godkilling weapon up and ready early
You know the battle is turning to humanity's favour when EDF goes from *"Get the civilian to safety!"* , to, *"Help the civilian protect the base!"*
Ah Barga, the best mech in the game in my opinion
Two words to describe this mission= Cathartic Hype
with the barga they can kill erginus and archelus pretty much immediatly, and im sure storm 1 will destroy that first mothership too
damn, i guess nameless will show up real soon in this loop
Sarge : this guy is real deal we should listen to what he said!!
Storm 1 : ..............................................🗿
Ceno: bruh:)
11:57
"It's my turn to rescue you."
I just love that yuki reference
Thunder!
Oh this IS a farming mission and Ceno
MOREEEEEEE
THIS IS GETTING GOOD
Power fantasy at its finest, Storm team Changing history.
*_EDF! EDF!_*
@@cenorexia l wonder if you happen to know where to find all English voice lines from EDF 4. Some are too hilarious, actually, everything is because of that perfect voice acting that is immersive. l remember the Oh hara saying "What is that" or the commander " Do you feel like a legendary hero yet?".
@@deadspace4755 I am sorry. Unfortunately I don't know where you could find these. Maybe on sounds-resource.com ? (I haven't checked)
Wooooo this is what i always wanted to see, barga punch those glow stick XD
In fact, there are seniors near the hatch to join us.
13:53
It's very small, but you can see him in the lower right corner.
And when he joins us, a line is played.
Senior "Help!
Sergeant "Don't worry. I'll let you go."
I'm using a translation tool, so I'm sorry if I didn't translate it well.
12:33 you'll understand how badass this bgm is when it can revive dead troops and summon 2 more squads in thin air
Just 2 more months, and I can hear chief's silly dialog in english again
Oh, if you don't want to wait any longer, the English version already released across Asia. I started a playlist a while ago: ua-cam.com/video/awU4Gf18jZo/v-deo.html
@@cenorexia You did already? I'll watch those then😁
Hehe, yes the English version was supposed to release in Spring everywhere but then it got pushed back to Summer for USA/Europe but still released in March for other countries. US/Europe release is now July 25.
This combined missiom 3+4 in edf 5 right?
& Is this 6th series a plot about time travel?
Correct. I usually mention what missions the current one is a remix of in the description. As for the second question...I'm not sure how much you've seen from the previous translated EDF6 mission videos yet sooo...
Let’s go Barga!
I punch kaiju now, don'worry sir:)
...alright, Ceno. Gotta be said: You're an AWFUL Barga pilot. You shoulda focused the pillars and not bothered using stomps on those bugs. Particularly with left-right-left-right hits. They did more damage than the jabs, just enough to break the anchors in one hit. And they're repeating of course.
That being said: HOLY GOD FUCKIN DAMN, THIS PART MAKES MY STUPID ASS HAPPY TO NO END! EDF! EDF! EDF!!
Oh, don't ignore the monsters too much here. They _will_ destroy the Barga if you're not careful 🐜
Also I noticed if you're _too_ quick, you miss out on some of the dialogue in this mission. I'm still awful with the Barga, though 🤓
@@cenorexia Alright, correction then: Aim down, THEN use left and right punches. You get bugs AND anchors that way.
Storm 1 became my favorite protagonist because of it. Both me and storm 1 must had felt incredibly frustrated and pressured by the despair. I felt like I became connected with storm 1 actions and desperately trying to do impossible. (This mission is hard as hell with Solo Ranger but felt satisfied through)
@@linkersjacken8032 Storm 1 isn't a separate character, He's you! That's the secret behind Earth Defense Force! It makes you the hero of the story in your own way. More on that in this SoberDarwf video:
ua-cam.com/video/cSz127Adpqs/v-deo.html (Check it out, it's such a cool video!)
They really re-did EDF 5 with different story....
Signs of Victory right at the end?! Hex yay!
Guys it is weird for me think that storm 1 became my favorite protagonist 🥺?
Stormguy + Brofessor = BFF 💜
It appears that if all the pylon are dropped at once in a small area, they don't appear to spawn as many monster or anything advanced as the last time we see it EDF 5. Maybe doing so causes the teleport action magic interferes too much with each other and needs much longer time to fully activate?
The real explanation is probably that the devs didn't want to make the mission too hard, which makes it harder than the final boss of EDF 5 & 6 (it's the same guy but not the same guy)
Can you imagine if each of those towers spawn the usual amount of enemies?
There's like 16 of them and if each spawns 16 enemies, you get 256 enemies PER WAVE
@@jinhong91 And remember Console limit. If you make it purely PC type you can unlock the "Number of enemy limit"
Better hardware = more enemy's
It is a scripted anchor, which tends to not drop as many enemies as those already placed on the map. Difficulty adjustment?
Love it thos last Pilar with special combo
feaking awsome
1:27 bottom left… hello mech Yuki
This is cool man
I think they dont need to ask if Storm 1 wants to join
I tried summon the barga in EDF 5 to knock out those anchor, but it doesn't work unless it hit on the top part :V
Recycling EDF 5. At least I know the tactical landscape.
Optimus Prime becomes an exterminator.
EDF!
EDF!
EDF!!!!!!!
EDF!!! EDF!!!
Hmm what will happen if the Barga got destroyed ?
Nothing, really. The mission goes on the same. You don't _need_ to use Barga to destroy the towers.
is this mission 1 from edf 5 right ?
It's Missions 3+4 combined.
The last one (Mission 116) was EDF5's Mission 1.
@@cenorexia hey , i want to ask how long the gun turret cooldown in edf 6 ?
It depends on the turret but it's usually between 40-60 seconds.
@@cenorexia so , the shortest one must be the gun one , right ? what are the longest one ?
@@flyingtofu8074 yeh,is misson 3 and 4, but is ves have barga is, i can victory, in edf 5, is can't defend base
Yes >:3
BARGA AWAKEN!!!!
1:25 yuki reference
It's not an EDF game without 😁
Look at all of that loot going to waste
Don't worry, I played the mission more than once 😏
Ok that's kind of annoying , i like it more when some random is using the Barga , but if it is a mission with more than one unit an there is a X-tra for me too use then sure why not
14:19 LMAO did the character Speak ?
Barga is good but wait to mark 2 the barga relly turn into anime gundam
Watching this makes we wish they'd given us the option of Japanese voice.
