It's not a smirk!!! This is not a 29 year old man. This is still a child who didn't get to grow up in a healthy way. So he wears a guarded, frightened, "Get me out of here!", looking over his shoulder little boys smile to protect himself. He fidgets, shrugs his shoulders, moves his eyes in every direction... he appears no differently than he does in those videos when he was 9 but none of his body language points to guilt. There are times where he does look like he's keeping a secret. It's all too possible he knows who killed his sister but inside Burke is still a little boy too frightened to tell.
It also refer as "duping delight"--- the pleasure he get over having someone else in his control and being able to manipulate them by flashing a smile at an inappropriate moment.
There's an audio tape that was analyzed of the 911 call. In the audio the father says "we're not talking to you" Then the mother says "what have you done, god help us" Then the son says "what did you find" Now the problem with that is, the parents said Burke was asleep the entire time. So why is he on the audio speaking & why are his own parents saying we're not talking to you & what have you done"
We are never going to hear the truth because the parents protected their son and if he did it he was not at the age of legal responsibility at the time.
@Kandi Rain I'm sorry but not ALL 9 year olds act like that. My sister was 9 when our Dad passed away and all through the commotion of the paramedics trying to save his life, through to the funeral she didn't cry or act hysterical. But at night when all was quiet she'd crawl into my bed and just softly cry. She's just a private person, always has been. You also have to take into account the life this poor kid led. He was part of the "Perfect" family and certain things were just expected of him. He had to be perfect. I feel for the poor guy.
Me. Something seriously wrong with that kid. Either he's guilty AF and he's duping delight, or, that fake smile is just his way of protecting himself from a negative experience.
I'm appalled how people just can't understand that a child who is accused of something heinous that he didn't do, people, whispering about you, being ostracised, not having any friends....think people! - and we expect him to turn out fine...does anyone wonder why he's still not killing anyone else, that's because he's not a killer.
Exactly. The guy has moved on; it's been over 20 years! They want him to have a fake TV breakdown because that's the world these A holes live in. Vanity at its grossest.
Seeing people being nice to each other isn't butt kissing. It isn't something we see very often and that might be why it's cringy for some. Yes they're complimenting each other but it's better than using those few minutes talking about some thing negative.
well..if you people didnt know, there are people who smile when they are nervous. i am one of them. when i feel very uncomfortable i might even start to laugh. i would not judge him just because of this.
Plus when he was nine he seen his face on the front page of the National Enquirer saying he killed his sister...... if that don't fuck up a growing young mind then I don't know what would. For me the main person of interest is the accomplice of the guy that supposedly shot himself. Where is he? Has anyone taken his DNA?
I just don't think I could smile and laugh while people are talking about my deceased sibling...Not saying he did it, BUT it's rather bizarre. Smile when you're nervous, but wouldn't it depend on the topic..?
I think they were typical siblings and I think he wanted some attention but I don't think he did it but he was too young to feel remorse and was genuinely happy for his family's attention.
I know right. He goes through the entire set of interviews without shedding ONE ounce of tears or compassion. Give me a break the writings ALL over the wall...!!!
I wanted to knock that smurk right off his face. Who in the hell talks about a murdered little sister and smiles about it unless of course hes glad he got away with it
To his defense and I'm not saying he's guilty or innocent, only God knows who did it. I had a girlfriend in high school that giggled at everything, and I mean everything. hee defense mechanism was to giggle. One time we were in almost in a horrible car accident and by God's grace we didn't crash and her response was to giggle while my heart almost jumped out my chest while I screamed. On every single serious occasion she giggled. we thought she was weird but the truth was that's how she handled stress, conflict or drama. I know she was physically and emotionally abused by her dad but I never witnessed her cry or show sadness....she just giggled.
Body language isn’t always a valid way to analyze whether someone is telling the truth a lot, since many people with mental illness or disability don’t show body language the same way as others do. Educate yourself.

I smile when I’m nervous or uncomfortable. Sometimes I will even start laughing. It’s awful. I feel bad for Burke because it looks like he has a similar problem.
A lot of people smile or laugh inappropriately when they are anxious. But people who are anxious don't usually act out violently. Especially at eight. Anxious people are more likely to avoid conflict.

That's right, attorney Lin Wood who is the Ramsey's lawyer and propaganda minister is also representing Dr. Phil and his wife in a $250 million dollar suit against the National Enquirer. And if you don't think Lin Wood approved all the questions Dr. Phil asked Burke Ramsey ahead of time, then you don't know Lin Wood...
yes, but to stop crying you first have to start, and he never cried, and also his tongue got stuck, his subconscious betrayed him, that is the reason why it's so difficult to lie
He was compelled to do that interview because the Bogus CBS 'show' was being released so he wanted to defend himself. He was terribly nervous & his eyes were so wide & his mouth too as if smiling, So He Didn't Cry. That doc was formatted to James Kolar's book of BS blaming Burke & that's why He was on there too, sitting back for the most part letting the Charlatans do his dirty work. CBS were mightily sued for the gross misleading of the public & the lying con artists were included in that suit. CBS settled the case out of court & had to pay up mega Millions of $$$. The 2 so-called scientists, Lee & Spitz were personally sued for Their lies & misinformation. Burke went Laughing, all the way to the Bank.
Burke smiling displays a reaction to a very uncomfortable life changing event that happened to him at such a young age. My younger brother and I both will laugh or joke during very uncomfortable situations. I know for me it’s because if I don’t laugh, I will cry. It’s just how we deal with very stressful situations. I do not believe Burke killed his sister. Do I think he knows more than he is willing to share knowing it was his mom and dad he would be turning against? Yes, but he loves them. This whole nightmare has caused Burke so many years of having to become very private because every move was scrutinized by the press, friends, neighbors, teachers, and when he began dating how would he escape the one question? Are you JonBenéts brother? He has said he has lived with a media storm since he was 9. I’m sure he has developed some social adapting techniques such as the nervous smile, working from home, being a loner. This guy not only lost his sister but he lost his childhood too.
This young man has grown up under stress and isolation few adults can imagine. Is an he an odd bird? Yup. Does his oddness mean it's more likely, let alone probable, that he killed his sister? Nope. A lot of actual killers are smooth and appropriate. They know not to smile at the wrong time. They can pretend grief and concern. This young man can't fake anything. He is stupendously awkward. But he is no killer.
What kind of parents don't run through the house searching room by room for their missing child? Especially since someone was supposedly in the house. And what kind of police person does not look in all of the rooms for the perpetrator?
That's exactly what I don't understand either. Like how is the basement off limits? Also, I don't recall them searching outside either? I mean, I'm sure that would be unsafe but for a parent who is hysterical, I don't think that would stop them from searching outside and screaming their name looking for them. Idk....
Alexandra A exactly, and did you see how she was found? Wrapped in a pink blanket. No intruder who supposedly "sexually assaulted" her and was meaning to kidnap her and bashed her head in with a hammer would take the time and energy to wrap her body up that way.
I always thought that he did it to and let the parents covered it up and Stage the kidnapping and I always heard I don't know if it's true but no child under the age of 10 can be implicated or prosecuted for any crime in the state of Colorado
B u r k e was 9 years old both children with defecating in their bed wetting their beds definite red-flag indication of sexual abuse how do you know he wasn't sexually abused as well is it fact that John Ramsey's other daughter was killed in a car accident that there were accusations of John Ramsey assaulting Beth is that true is that a fact I don't know restinpeace beautiful JonBenet Ramsey you will always be in our hearts your with God now he'll protect you so sorry for the horrific horrible things that happened to you
I think its amazing that people find the family weird and creepy and are shocked or confused that the ONLY surviving child left to be raised by them, turned out "odd". John Ramsey and several other former military guys were already on scene when cops arrived. He absolutely knows what happened to that child and people higher up are protecting him. Her mother is no different than the other weak, pathetic mothers in the world who look the other way while their children are abused.
So true! If I ever need some help with an investigation I'm going to look at some of these commenters to take on the case. They know how to see where the guilt really lies just by watching facial expressions.
Oh yes they believe the very little information mostly false from the tabloids and rumours. None of these people bothered to listen to podcasts and read the books ... theres zero evidence for anyone to believe it was not an intruder but hey Karen said it was because of the pineapple! 😂 the logic of the RDI theory is very laughable
Have you thought how many times Burke has seen his life in photos, the memories of his house and family through UA-cam, unlike when he was nine years old, now he is an adult and it is easier to lie because through UA-cam he watches old videos and not he feels sadness for his sister and only smiles because of nerves of whatever Time has passed and now he is 35 but body language does not lie THAT simple, People do not be STUPID This Boy killed her

An that's SAD that we have to see it that way. But at least they didn't have to grow up being molested or tortured by those who are supposed to LOVE US
This case was mishandled from the beginning. Sadly because of the amount of people allowed to come into a potential crime scene forensic evidence was compromised. Someone killed that child unintentionally or otherwise however we will probably never know who did it. Rest In Peace Jonbenet
History of violence and creepy acts against his sister, never understood why people had such a hard time figuring it out. He's still a sociopathic creaton, and just like a sociopath, he thinks he's smart enough to go on TV and look innocent while collecting a big check. Typical aspberger personality, works with computers, works in isolation, no social skills. He bashed his sisters head in for some minor annoyance and he never felt guilty at all, in fact he was relieved to be rid of her.
I completely agree. He's has not shown any type of remorse or emotion since he was 9. Can't say he did it intentionally but I don't think he cared it happened.. he's crazy and without a doubt he killed her and the parents covered it up.
My guess is that he did it accidentally and EVERYTHING else was done to cover this up. The panel of experts stated that they didn't think that she was sexually assaulted, so all the rest could have been done by Burke and her parents. Patsy said that she "couldn't stand to loose both of her children". That says it all to me.
I agree, either he doesn't care or he has some issues (which is quite apparent) and those are making him not care or feel unattached. I think his parents also sheltered him in such a way that he was never told it was his fault and so he honestly doesn't feel he did it even if he knows deep down he did. That's just my observation on his reactions to Dr Phil's questions and even his reactions to his interview when he was young - he ACTS like he is lying but his words say he is innocent. He also seems to have some sort of "air" about him - like he is Superman or he has been vindicated and other people haven't figured that out yet; almost spoiled or sheltered.
I think he did it and the parents covered it up! Why were the ties on her arms so loose, how did dad find her in the dark.why would you mess with the crime scene and put your child on the ground where everyone was walking instead of on the couch? If I picked my child up I sure as heck wouldn't lay them on the floor they would be put on the couch since it was close to me and our of respect for my child. Hell I would have stayed down there with her trying to hold her not carry her up the steps to lay on the ground! And the ransom letter is a bit strange as well. Who takes almost 22 minutes to write a ransom note if your gonna kill someone? And then you ask for the same amount of money that Jon made that year. Hmm yeah that's weird
zulfikhar Sèf well yeah I have a prob with that too .. I dont know its just so many things to think about and so many different people to consider I guess , I just said what my mom thought before she died and I thought it was strange then 20 years later they bring him up.. thats all . I dont want to get into a judge and jury thing with anyone over it ok.
Barbara Miller wow, so sorry about your mom. What part of the US do you live in? I found one of those after a neighbor moved in. I live in Northern California, they're rare here. It really scared me
the very first thing I noticed and wondered about was his demeanor during the interview. I am so glad I'm not the only one who noticed his constant smile.
Not too many people can understand why he has the so called smile....this is a defense mechanism that children use to cover up their inner pain. It’s something that the person who is doing it has no way to not do it and they don’t understand why they can’t not smile at the worst times to be smiling. I have someone close to me that has this problem too and he said that it gets him in so much trouble and no matter how hard he tries, it can’t be controlled because in his eyes it works
This is and will always be the strangest case ever. The parents are odd, and the kids were odd. Patsy was a pageant girl and so was her daughter. I believe they would have been great in politics if this horrific situation hadn’t happened. Having said that I believe Patsy was a show mom. She wanted the outside world to see her and her family as perfect. So when she’s raising her kids she taught them to smile, in all situations. Smile when your happy, smile when you feel awkward, smile when you are nervous, smile when you are hurting, smile through it all. Always be camera ready. It’s very common in the wealthy community’s here in the south. I’ve seen and known lots of people like this. Typical pageant life. I don’t think it was the family. Someone close to the family but not the family. I hope in my lifetime they find out the truth of what happened to this beautiful little girl.
Then this whole thing makes perfect sense. This "interview" was merely a P.R. move. Whatever respect I had for Dr. Phil went down the sewer with this little charade.
I also felt that Dr Phil, was being deceptive during this interview with Burke. And what was the point of the questions to Burke anyway. Dr Phil new what answers Burke was going to provide. Dr Phil never asked him to take a polygraph test, like he would with anyone else in the same circumstances
His body language speaks. He moves his eyes left and right. See, whenever u speak the truth, eyes pupils are straightup. He lie so he cant put his eyes straight up. His smiles means he is hiding the truth. Even though he hides from us. God sees everything. There will be a judgement day. So he cant escape even though he escapes from us. The girl is in heaven watching over. She has forgiven her little brother.
I wonder if they have trace evidence and if ANYTHING was tested 20 yrs ago. I can just SEE the mom instructing the kids on the technique of "keeping a smile on your face". I bet with ALL the attention jonbenet received from the pageants, at the very least, Burke HAD to have been a pleaser!!!!! IT'S ALL SO sad!!!
I have NEVER been so uncomfortable watching an interview until the interview between Dr. Phil and Burke. That kid and his NONSTOP smiling made me so utterly uncomfortable that nothing will EVER compare to the level of uncomfortable and creeped out I felt.

Burke's been smiling the biggest smile I've ever seen since his sister died his childhood police interviews are exactly the same back then as his interview with Dr phil in recent times he smiled up a storm he was nonchalant he never cried he smiled right through the funeral he dodges questions his answers are always strange. I feel like they kept him closed off because they knew if he was out and about what he would become. There's something not right with him. He didn't care then when she died. There's an episode of criminal minds That every time I watch it, I think of him. A little boy killed his brother for breaking his toys and the parents called a cop friend and he made it look like an abduction. But when talking to the little brother they notice how he didn't cry or even seem to care. He just wanted to play with some toys and have a snack. My brother died 13 years ago at age 23& i cannot recall EVER SMIRKING OR GRINNING IN ANY WAY while talking about it. Its still sad& i miss him. This kids smirk is not normal at all. He aint right in the head what a creep
He was a child when it happened. It was 20 years ago. No way you should compare your situation, with his. Unless you are a shrink, you are not qualified to judge what his smirt is about. Not in your field of vision, or expertise.
He's obviously a disturbed man, he doesn't smirk talking about the tragic past out of nothing, obviously he has extreme issues. We have to study the circumstances around him when he was a little boy, the way his parents isolated and overprotected him; sometimes as parents we think we are doing the right thing, but we can really damage our children beyond words. Personally, I believe he knows what happened to his sister but he will never confess it.
You should go and see the program "the case of jonbenét Ramsey" or something like that. It explains how no one could enter the house by the window they said and why the family was probably involved. They have explanations for EVERYTHING
i recall the reports (few years ago) stating that undigested pineapple ( i believe it was this fruit) was found during her autopsy and the only evidence of this was a bowl and spoon in a photo, but the actual serving dish was never taken as evidence...I recall the parents stating a few times that neither of them gave her the fruit....and that they had no idea she even woke up. It is terrible that this one minor piece of the story is over looked and could possibly be the preverable needle in the hay stack.
Did you know that there were finger prints found on the bowl belonging 7:19 to 2 people, Patsy and Burke. Which proves that both Patsy and Burke had their hand on that bowl of pineapple at some point. In addition the glass next to the bowl had Burke’s finger prints on it. They both have knowledge of the bowl of pineapples but Patsy probably as well as Burke have not been truthful about it
Any counselor knows how many people smile and act nervousness like that during anxious and uncomfortable feelings. Dr. Phil is a disgrace to true social work and psychology.
John had just got out of the shower & had fresh clothes on. They were flying out to their holiday house & that had everything there that they needed. Patsy just threw on the pants & sweater that she wore to the dinner when she woke up & applied a bit of make-up

There are times where he does look like he's keeping a secret. It's all too possible he knows who killed his sister but inside Burke is still a little boy too frightened to tell.
Spare us your armchair psychology.

I agree.
There's an audio tape that was analyzed of the 911 call. In the audio the father says "we're not talking to you"
Then the mother says "what have you done, god help us"
Then the son says "what did you find"
Now the problem with that is, the parents said Burke was asleep the entire time. So why is he on the audio speaking & why are his own parents saying we're not talking to you & what have you done"
Vincent Cuttolo nahhhh it’s some thing on the tape watch the case of jonbenet ramsey they took the audio to a sound engineer to analyze it...

Right? And he was a month away from 10 yrs old.
Lol yup tells ya a lot
He was smiling at the funeral.....
9 yrs old no one acts normal in this situations
@Kandi Rain I'm sorry but not ALL 9 year olds act like that. My sister was 9 when our Dad passed away and all through the commotion of the paramedics trying to save his life, through to the funeral she didn't cry or act hysterical. But at night when all was quiet she'd crawl into my bed and just softly cry. She's just a private person, always has been. You also have to take into account the life this poor kid led. He was part of the "Perfect" family and certain things were just expected of him. He had to be perfect. I feel for the poor guy.
Who else was creeped out about how he smiled the whole time he was being interviewed about his sister who was murdered
He's off for sure

I think they were typical siblings and I think he wanted some attention but I don't think he did it but he was too young to feel remorse and was genuinely happy for his family's attention.

Burke: 😬😀😃😄😁🤗🤪
One of the most intelligent points here.
When I was very young I went to a funeral and started laughing hysterically. I was just freaked out seeing the dead guy. But I didn't kill him.

He was compelled to do that interview because the Bogus CBS 'show' was being released so he wanted to defend himself. He was terribly nervous & his eyes were so wide & his mouth too as if smiling, So He Didn't Cry.

Nope. That's exactly what I don't understand either. Like how is the basement off limits? Also, I don't recall them searching outside either? History of violence and creepy acts against his sister, never understood why people had such a hard time figuring it out. He's still a sociopathic creaton, and just like a sociopath, he thinks he's smart enough to go on TV and look innocent while collecting a big check. Typical aspberger personality, works with computers, works in isolation, no social skills. He bashed his sisters head in for some minor annoyance and he never felt guilty at all, in fact he was relieved to be rid of her.

i agreeee u are absolutely right
Rob Absolutely agree with you!
My mom died the Jan right after this happened, the first thing she said when she heard this was that "her brother did it"
I think he did it and the parents covered it up! Hmm yeah that's weird

i BELIEVE THE ENTIRE FAMILY WAS IN ON IT AND THE COVERUP
me too
Not too many people can understand why he has the so called smile....this is a defense mechanism that children use to cover up their inner pain. It’s something that the person who is doing it has no way to not do it and they don’t understand why they can’t not smile at the worst times to be smiling. I have someone close to me that has this problem too and he said that it gets him in so much trouble and no matter how hard he tries, it can’t be controlled because in his eyes it works
I smile when I’m nervous too but not if I’m talking about a dead person!! He’s creepy
Dr. Phil and Ramseys have the same lawyer. Burke did it!!

Plus, I fail to see how depicting him as ''Extremely nervous and uncomfortable'' is supposed to make him look good in this situation.
I have NEVER been so uncomfortable watching an interview until the interview between Dr. Phil and Burke. That kid and his NONSTOP smiling made me so utterly uncomfortable that nothing will EVER compare to the level of uncomfortable and creeped out I felt.
Burke was compelled to do that interview because that Bogus CBS 'show' was being released. He was Very nervous & his eyes are so wide open & his mouth too as if smiling So He Didn't Cry.
Some people are awkward. Smiling is a sign of someone feeling nervous and awkward. Its something that helps people cope. Some people cry, some people look stone cold and some people smile.
I laugh and cry when I'm extremely angry and upset.
Man people need to stop making things up
his demeanor is very strange. maybe he was abused as a child..
Maybe he is actually a psychopath?
Nj channel 12 news said yesterday that burk did it and the parents were covering it up. And channel cbs sunday and monday had all the reports and videos. So all these years he never got any help. the parents should of just got help for their son. He was only 9 he wouldn't of went to jail.
His name is Burke. It amazes me how everyone believes a theory without studying the case. Without knowing anything about criminology, psychology or sociology!
Or maybe he's an alien from the planet mars!
I agree, but Dr. Phil's demeanor is hardly relevant here.
This was about "Dr" Phils new show, not Jon Benets brother.
Burke's been smiling the biggest smile I've ever seen since his sister died his childhood police interviews are exactly the same back then as his interview with Dr phil in recent times he smiled up a storm he was nonchalant he never cried he smiled right through the funeral he dodges questions his answers are always strange. He was so unbothered. I know the law requires evidence but come on man why is everyone kidding themselves.. Far as I'm concerned Burke done it!
Wow, I still cry when thinking about my step dad dying I was 9 as well. And it broke my heart and I still miss him everyday.
Have you thought how many times Burke has seen his life in photos, the memories of his house and family through UA-cam, unlike when he was nine years old, now he is an adult and it is easier to lie because through UA-cam he watches old videos and not he feels sadness for his sister and only smiles because of nerves of whatever Time has passed and now he is 35 but body language does not lie THAT simple, People do not be STUPID This Boy killed her
@@ladyeva8651 oh, I agree!! But not just from this video. There's so many little things that make me think he did it and they finished it up. And it's so close to how he was acting that its scary.
The parents also acted as if they knew the call was never coming. They grieved, but in a controlled way. Idk. I believe he caused it and they covered it.
That’s bc you’re normal in the head
Say what you want to bout Megyn but she’s one absolutely beautiful woman!
She is very pretty, her hair here looks great!
She is not, however;a good journalist or reporter or show host.
I think she looks & resembles alot Nicole Brown Simpson, same face shape features everything.
@@savedbyhisgrace7573 i agree..except Nicole B. Simpson had "softer" face features
He gets sweaty when they start talking about the ransom letter, he also gets more sweaty when he shows it to him which then he talks about how his mom would make HIM write nice and that it's too sloppy which he easily could just be saying that as an excuse. He also shows nervousness in his hands and is more red around the neck. He knows more.
Hes got that duping grin whenever he hears JonBemets name
I WOULD NOT LEAVE MY ANIMAL WITH HIM. WEIRD.
@@madelinetramantano8302 I've no doubt He wouldn't want to be left with someone like You.
@@bethryan9077 OR YOU. BYE TO YOU. FOR GOOD.
Did you ever get to see the CBS special ! He did it !
This was a shameless self promotion not about opening up about interviewing JonBenet's brother. What else can I expect from American TV...
Yes he is! He earned PhD in psychology and a Post doctorate in psychology.
I agree he is always sticking his nose in high profile cases and celebs
+Dtv 2222 lol he's bringing his plastic doll off to bed...
working with forensic psychics I'm just curious what they think
None of her blood member killed her.You got that!!!!Get the picture!!!
I can’t stand it when the title of the UA-cam has nothing to do with the video or very little to do with the title thumbs down
The parents allowed their son to be in the room alone while one of their daughters was missing. That’s....interesting.
Why is he smiling all the time? Still think “JB,”s mother had something to do with it
I think it's mother too, her mom had problems, who would have their young daughter on display looking like a pole dancer
i recall the reports (few years ago) stating that undigested pineapple ( i believe it was this fruit) was found during her autopsy and the only evidence of this was a bowl and spoon in a photo, but the actual serving dish was never taken as evidence...I recall the parents stating a few times that neither of them gave her the fruit....and that they had no idea she even woke up.
They both have knowledge of the bowl of pineapples but Patsy probably as well as Burke have not been truthful about it
“I was very emotional, and sad” 😃🤗
I think it was Her Parents. The ransom note was too long and Mr Ramsey went straight downstairs and picked the body up and brought her upstairs
well, I think if was friends of the parents.
Any counselor knows how many people smile and act nervousness like that during anxious and uncomfortable feelings. Dr. Phil is a disgrace to true social work and psychology.
I've always wonder why the parents were in the clothes they wore from the party when the police arrived?
They never went to sleep.
Maxine B they were too busy writing long letters, hiding bodies and coming up with ridiculous stories.
Exactly!! Then call all those friends to come over....not to bring all the cash they had handy, but to contaminate the scene.
John had just got out of the shower & had fresh clothes on. They were flying out to their holiday house & that had everything there that they needed. Patsy just threw on the pants & sweater that she wore to the dinner when she woke up & applied a bit of make-up
Justice for JonBenet
So sad she died so young 😔😔
