Now that’s some amazing stardew content. I have already been halfway aware of something being up with rock ladders from observing the spawning patterns in my save files, but I could never make sense of ladder spawns beyond feeling that I knew through habit that floor x on save file y was more likely to spawn a ladder from a rock in this or that region of the floor. This extensive dive into all mechanics influencing rock ladder spawns was super enlightening. Thanks for taking the time and putting in the work to educate!

in community there are classes called "ladders 101" and "advanced ladders".
Up til now i thought these were a joke. Then i realized im watching an actual class on ladders.

You're an MVP, Blade. I think this explains why a few times I've cleared a floor completely out and found no ladder at all. It's extremely rare, but the coding does not contain a guarantee for a ladder.
Does this happen on the dark floors, or on hardmode mines in the forest area?
The way the code works, the second to last rock should give a ladder, and there is an explicit check if you have just broken the last rock.
In the dark floors it is easy to miss a ladder. In the hard mode forest, apparently the stumps are treated as rocks, but don't drop ladders. This can mess things up
@@BlaDeSDV I think the two of so times I've seen it happen, it has been on the forest floors. I feel like there might have been a 3rd time, but don't remember the situation in that case. That makes a lot of sense why that happened. I missed the part where you mentioned the second to last rock, but that's funny, because I've definitely seen that happen a number of times.

Blade is there any pattern to bubbles? They're in your predictor so I know you can compute them, but looking from seed to seed or day to day, they seem to be so randomly placed and timed. Not nearly as clean as the mine features or clay farming.
Would love to hear your thoughts as maximizing those the first few days can really help a min max run
There are a lot of random calls to place bubbles. A call for horizontal tile, vertical tile, a number of random calls when the game attempts to despawn... I haven't explored this for patterns without fully predicting.

Where does the code shown around 4:02 come from? This has always bugged me when I've heard of people talking about "looking at the game code" or something like that over the years. I always assumed when you download a game from Steam or wherever it was just an executable. Does the developer need to release the source for stuff like this to be possible without decompiling and reverse engineering everything?
Also, is that C++?

Could you talk about weather? I know there's a minimum number of rain days, but I have no idea if weather is connected to luck, or how lightening actually works (rng wise), etc. As always though great video!!
Lightning is just the main global random affected by daily luck iirc, weather is just after luck calculation and dish of the day calculation when the game resets the global random overnight so easy to step manip

Blade my friend and I have about 20 hours in a new farm and he can’t get his club card he did all the quests before he got the quest from Mr.Qi to get to floor twenty and the game removed his club card because he got disconnected from the server and now he can’t get the the club card. If you could please respond. Thanks
Id double check his journal to see if any of the quests for the card are there. The skull caverns quest has nothing to do with the club card
@@BlaDeSDV oh, well he has tried to check all the locations of the quest I’ve look at the forums and it says if you get disconnected it will delete your club card. And thanks I’ll have him try this!
I assume knowing the seed is only available for PC? Currently playing on switch during the free week and upset I can't have many of the luxuries as pc players. (might buy on pc later)
Looking up the seed is only for pc and android. You can input a seed on new game on 1.5. Switch has different RNG and patterns, which I dont have a way of exploring.

No. You will likely need to befriend Kent and use the bombs he sends

How are slimes cute?
Can someone explain the math a little to me and if it's just a typo or I am missing something, at 2:43 for rocks left aren't there 9 rocks? so +1/9 and the daily buff, how does it turn into 0.13 isn't it +-2% which is 0.02?
When you break one of those rocks, there will be 8 remaining, so 1/8. Daily luck is a range. It can be anywhere between -0.02 and +0.02
