God bless you brothers and sisters for sharing this for free with all of us, God bless you. so much joy on my heart by hearing it =D ! God bless you all.
I have Mere Christianity the audible book it is fantastic! I love how challenging it is to try to keep up with his incredible mind throughout this book. To do it justice, it really requires you stop frequently and really really consider what he is saying.
How about the rich pastors That spinThe money On gold A round their risk Gold Watches How about airplanes That's money from the people they go hear the word of God That's what the rich pastors bye That so call beautiful building made out of concrete one It will come all down That's not the building that God is talking about He's talking about the body of Christ To build-up Why don't you talk about those rich pastors they come out on TV on UA-cam
In the time it takes to listen to this you could read, reread, and memorize everything Jesus ever said. He didn't say that much. Why would God Kill his own son? Isn't that murder/abortion? Doesn't God make the rules? Why should the innocent suffer for the guilty? Matthew 12:7 "If only you had known the meaning of 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent". God showed no mercy, He condemned the innocent, what gives? Jesus only submitted after sweating blood - he didn't welcome persecution with "joy". Why should we have higher standards than Jesus and God? The cross isn't important - everyone dies - it's the Resurrection that makes Jesus special. Why is there no 'Sign of the Resurrection" after all these centuries? Why aren't you holding up something hopeful instead of God's murder weapon? A Roman terror weapon that carried the message DON"T REBEL (the same message the cross sends today). You could have just read the sermon on the mount in the same amount of time - far more useful, but then, what do we need you for? Jesus just gave the sermon on the mount and said "follow me" -meaning his example - healing, feeding, peacemaking - "works". Simple, really.
Charles - if you think the cross of Christ wasn't really necessary, I think you haven't been reading the scriptures. Or, if you have, that you haven't believed the words you're reading. From beginning to end, we see a need for sacrifice of sins, and Jesus Christ was that perfect, eternal lamb so that no more sacrifice for sin is needed outside of Him. Scripture: In this will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus, the Christ, once for all. And so every priest stands daily ministering and offering many times the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, is seated at the right hand of God - Hebrews 10:10-12
@@jeremiahzeisetHebrews 9:22 reads, " nearly everything must be purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." is grossly misleading (if not an out and out lie), there is plenty of forgiveness in the OT without blood. Ninivah, for example. Did the Good Samaritan have God/Jesus's approval? He had neither doctrine nor ritual (unlike the Pharisee and the Priest), he had 'works'. Jesus said, "Do to others a you would have done to you. That is the essence of the Law and Prophets." "Do to others" is 'works' - anyone (and I do mean you) can fulfill the Law (and gain God's approval) by doing 'works'. The King will separate his sheep from the goats by their works, not by their faith, preaching, prayers, hours of study, or rituals performed or any of the other 'spiritual' nonsense the hired shepherds of the Christian clergy recommend (like so many Pharisees and Priests in Jesus' day). Here is just one Bible passage they rarely mention, Ezekiel 18:19-21 19 Yet you may ask, ‘Why should the son not bear the iniquity of the father?’ Since the son has done what is just and right, carefully observing all My statutes, he will surely live. 20 The soul who sins is the one who will die. A son will not bear the iniquity of the father, and a father will not bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will fall upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked man will fall upon him. 21 But if the wicked man turns from all the sins he has committed, keeps all My statutes (works), and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.… The innocent (Jesus) does not die for the guilty (those not doing 'works'). 'Righteousness' (God's approval) comes from repenting and doing works. God did not kill his own innocent son for the guilty - that would be immoral as well as unnecessary - the death of Jesus was exploited by unscrupulous men (the new breed of Pharisees and Priests). Tell me you didn't sit through all for hours of Spurgeon's drivel.
I do believe the Bible, and it is very clear in what it says. It may be offensive to you, but it is what God did. Why doubt, or worse, resist the words themselves. "God presented him as an atoning sacrifice in his blood, received through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God passed over the sins previously committed." Romans 3:23 It's all over scripture, and it's true. Take away Christ's shedding of blood for the remission of sins, and you have no hope.
@@jeremiahzeiset Who told you it was the word of Good? The same people who covered up child-rape all over the world? The same people who launched the crusades? The Inquisitions? The pogroms against Jews? They burners of 'witches', homosexuals. and 'heretics'? The protestants were no better than the Catholics. The same people who brought chains to Africa, opium to Chine, and genocide to America maybe lied about the Bible, too. Maybe God didn't kill his own son. Maybe he lets his sun shine on the righteous and unrighteous alike. Maybe your forgiven as you forgive others. What more hope do you really need?
@@charlessnarls3902 No matter how many "Christians" failed, there has never been a time when God failed. The fault always was with people, not God. Don't use people's falure and sins and hold that against God.

While I so appreciate this book, I long for an unabridged one.
Thank you for your feedback. I don't believe this book is abridged, though it is updated to more modern English.
How can i order the book?
Here's a link to the book on Amazon: amzn.to/2VyXEx1. Blessings!
why don't you use the real bible, the KJV? you know the author didn't use a corrupted version.
