When you really think about the slogan "home owners helping home owners" questions come up: is owning a home a requirement of being employed there? And also, are the wages high enough that a worker can own a home? Very perplexing...

Wages are definitely not high enough at Home Hardware to afford a house, unless you have a partner that makes more. I think they've shyed away from that slogan in recent years. It's sad, because some years ago I'm sure the majority of adults (not kids in the lumber yard) working at Home Hardware were able to afford a house. It's a different world nowadays.
