What you need to do Cherrydale Seminole Road home businesses that's not being used for the police station right there dead center they should have did that decades ago I said I'm waiting for the police to get there the police are already there that is all the problem right now and forever
I want to ask a question: why is it our responsibility to house drug addicts with our money? No one helps me when I'm low on funds. These people don't want help; I've seen this my whole life.
I totally agree with this statement. I literally posted this same exact thing in another post. Why is it the state’s responsibility to house these people? At one point in time they were members of society just like everyone else. They choose to starts drugs (yes I get it’s a disease but at first you choose to start it then after that your brains changes and it’s hard to stop but it’s a CHOICE to stop as well) no one held a gun to them and made them homeless no one made them stay out there on the streets. A lot of these people still have families that care about them. I believe yes they should get help with detox and rehab but then after that it’s their responsibility to work at getting their lives back together. Everyone else in this world has to do it, so why don’t they? I’m so sick of this world and how everyone thinks they are owed soemthing. It doesn’t work like that! If you want something you need to work hard at it to get it.
Some people do want help but have no where to go ...you cant throw folks in rehab then back to the street because its back to them being back on drugs ....its a cycle an this is commin from a ex addict that has 10 years on may 22 ...i didn't get clean until i was afforded the chance of not being on the streets anymore...if i was homeless I definitely go back to using just to get rid of the thought of me sleeping on the streets
My son is back . He did it himself . He almost died several times , list a toe, has been stabbed, had a seizure and almost died . Jefferson Hospital saved him .
She's absolutely right! Moving people from one block to another isn't solving the problem but they have to start somewhere. Nothing changes over night. It's about time Kensington PA gets clean up. This drug & homeless situation has to be resolved. There's no excuse why in one of the most richest countries in the world people have to live like this! The government needs to start spending the money where it will help people, i.e. affordable housing, drug treatment programs, job training, Mental health, etc.
Remember these people chose to be junkies. So they need to get the will power to stop being junkies. Only one making a killing is the dealers. Can,t say educate because you know this before using. So help yourself
This was in plans before Parker was even there. Do you pay attention? This has nothing to do with her. Second, nothing got done. Pr stunt. Go look a the live cams right now then come talk to me later....
So they’re saying three dozen people excepted help out of how many? There’s got to be at least 1000 people on the street. So sad that the drugs become their God and nothing else matters.
At this point, they need to stop giving people the choice. Drug use is illegal. Give them the option to go to rehab in the nice van with air conditioning or the van with bars on the windows.
This is a great start…but the point in time count in January 2024…the # was 5,500 homeless in Philly & that’s only the #s of those they saw. They keep saying they have beds but where & how many? For those that do go into a hospital based detox/rehab where are they being discharged after? There is no money for transitional housing or shelter beds…it’s like a vicious cycle. I’m happy that the Kensington area is getting the attention that is needed but there needs to be people with lived experience/family members/community members need to be involved in the development of treatment care and ideas for shared housing programs. It won’t happen overnight but to just shuffle people around is not helping the root cause. Our city is in trouble! I understand the quantitative data the city needs for funding but what about the qualitative piece as well. Most of those individuals on the streets were productive members of society before their current situation & people can say oh not me or not my kid, but addiction doesn’t discriminate. Hope Mayor Parker & her leadership team continue to expand upon the the efforts made this morning
They’re taking people from the suburbs back to their last know hometown and dropping them off in the middle of that town. The suburban cops are then putting them on septa trains back to Philly.
Where you from? It wasn’t always like this first of all I used to go to that bar they showed that shit used to be clean now all these yt ppl from across the country destroyed it . They do not clear it every Sunday tf
People come from all over the world to Kensington simply to take advantage of all the free care that’s offered with no intentions on trying to get off that poison…..everyone that’s ever interviewed is from every other city except Philadelphia…also absolutely no consequences for the crimes they commit… just a sad situation
3,000 beds sounds like a lot. But only court enforced involuntary commitment or prosecution will solve anything. Continuing to use needs to just not be an option. Otherwise its wackamole just like the west coat.
This was the perfect plan to make the city better and for undercovers to move out all around the city posing as dopefiends.. I posted some months back how people are going to treat them when they're scattered all over.. God bless Philadelphia 🦅
An appearence was made more traffic was on Kensington to save lives now redident have to check yards and alleyways their around just not on Kensington the stores need to reopen to instead of rotting away buiseness bring brings money Kensington needs demolished and the city is losing out on so much money letting it deteriate Property there has to be kept up like in the suburbs and every where else the addicts neep more help its falling down deriating te longer the waste land exist the more it cost the city rebuilding that whole area is the only area area is tge only way or its a wasteland like Gary Indianna. The houses need condemed total fire hazards old wiring and plumbing their all like houses that Jack built.
The zombie apocalypse are dispersed to the side streets and back yards
They went under the bridge
No they didn't. They are still out there.
Groundhog Day continues… Everyday same place, same people, same behaviors. It’s far from over…

They only went around the corner 😊
Been hearing that some people have gone further than a couple of blocks.
I had to see it for myself & the tweekers went down the street & only a hand full linger at that Allegeny & Kensington😅
You know it’s only temporary till people start serving prison terms of 10+
The odds are extremely low.
My son is back . He did it himself . He almost died several times , list a toe, has been stabbed, had a seizure and almost died . Jefferson Hospital saved him .
God bless everyone out there🤍

It's only going to work for a while. They've done this many times already and it ends up the same.

Now they are in Mayfair, or Juniata, Oxford Circle, maybe even Parkwood
That's why they call it,"needle park".😮

Great job, Mayor Parker!
She's got a lot of problems to deal with
@@tomv5988 you ain't never lie to bring back Philadelphia

Unfortunately most don't want help, they just want a handout.
Almost election that's why.
They don't want to solve the problem they get too much funding? If they solve the problem how are they going to get paid to solve the problem?
Wow I have no words I'm speechless I just wonder about the people and illnesses 😢
This is terrible. All of their belongings are now gone. Where are they going to go now?
All of "their" belongings were stolen from actual productive working people. They've done this schitt to themselves.
They can go to any shelter if they stop using.
That's their fault they don't belong in the streets

Glad to see it now offer incentives to bring back the stores!

The mayor Kenny wasn't worth a damn I don't miss him I'm glad he's gone hope he never come back

God bless Philadelphia 🦅
Give it a couple weeks, they will zombie shuffle their way back to K&A. And city hall will throw up their hands and say "oh well, we tried..."
Já fizeram isso várias vezes aqui no Brasil (cracolândia). Ficou igual ou pior que antes. O sangue de Jesus tem poder.
They'll just move to South Philly under I-95
They'll be right back.
Is that a shit stain in the background?

Kudos to Mayor Parker for keeping her promise, there is no easy solution to this, half the junkies will leave the rehab, they fear getting sick!
She really didn't do anything
And she really didn't keep her promise to do anything
They are still there just on allegheny n g streets fox news should go out there today theres a little less but its still a massive problem
It only matters what it looks like, and the photo ops.
