Sir small mistake...Karwar was party of sonda dynasty of kadamba ....king sadashiva Raya ruled Karwar....Karwar was also called has kone... it was main trading hub and business center of East India company from 1857 Karwar was head quarters of North Canara district..... fishing was main prominent business in Karwar from many years till now , brown rice( boild rice ), paddy field, coconut , sugarcane farming in region of binga , Chendia , kodar , arga region before land aquisition.... language spoken in Karwar is halegannda (old kannada), konkani,...

I worked in Ankola and Karwar as PWD Assistant Executive Engineer .

Karwar is district place. But our political leaders forgotten to develop this natural beauty to attract tourists which creates self employment. Rural areas on bank of Kali river needs development. No proper wide roads, bridges to connect people across, development of Kali river islands from Kodibag to Kadra needs special attention.
