As a parent Shiv has certainly acquired a lot of patience and understanding.. Patience is something that one gains as you age and gain responsibilities.
This was quite good! I'm more an authoritative parent, borrowing a bit of my parents' parenting style while consciously choosing my own path as I deem fit for my children.... Conscious parenting it is!

I wish my dad acknowledged how words affect me and was more considerate. It's a struggle trying to put a front when this happens and you're getting yelled at or judged instead.
There are a few more styles. There is a show called the Parent Test, it is very informative when you see each style in play

I haven’t had the joy of being a parent but I’m pretty sure I’ll be authoritative with a mix of free range. Easier said than done though 😅
That's me 💯💯😂😂 I have to give her freedom but put some boundaries...being too much authoritative can be toxic in a way not healthy for a child.
I think most African parents oxillate between authoritarian and authoritative.
