@@AustinCoulson oh man am I glad I made it wider than the one I could buy. My wood chipper has the narrow axle under it just like theirs and I rolled it last week side hilling it. Wish I had it on camera. Luckily I was just crawling.
Funny that I happened across your channel on Father's day at work. Something that I have to do with my truck. Bought mine essentially for scrap weight. Didn't have a liftgate but I found one just need to install. Peace.
I have to say i was skeptical at first, but that actually tuned out pretty nice. Good work! Make sure to keep a good amount of marine grease in those lift gate tracks.
Perfect job, but what about us poor people that don’t have all the stuff to help us? Aluminum brake and presses and fancy tools? lol. Looks great! I’m about to try to repair mine. Same exact thing happened.
Have a couple questions about this: Did the single bottom panel cause any issues with the radius of the track or did it allow it to slip on by because of the wider spread roller location? Pros & cons?
The single panel was fine, but I have since learned that you can buy replacement panels at shops that cater to medium and heavy duty trucks. Woulda been a lot easier to just buy a replacement and only a little more expensive
I realize you were working with what you had, but I think the top of your replacement panel should have been tongue and grooved to mate properly with the panel above it.
I agree. This only had to make it one trip across the Country but tongue and groove would have been way better long term. Surprisingly it hasn't leaked at all.
@@AustinCoulson I've heard with the pandemic, there is a backlog of freight that needs to move. Not enough drivers to keep up with shipping. Now would be a good time to get into it
Hi . My name is Mrs Williams. I have a box truck my roll up door needs fix your door just like my door, can you please help. Tell me soon, Thanks You . Like words to word from you. Mrs. Williams,,
You know, I was thinking about that during editing when I realized i've never heard it pronounced, only written. Thanks for the heads up. I had this same issue with cleco fasteners, which i called "cleck-o and was told it's actually cleek-o".
Looks was too much Trying do it with incorrect panels lot way easier if just buy the panel already ready just to install latchets and roller. Just for might be $60-100 bucks. 🤔
Hey Austin, it's a perfect fixing. Thanks for sharing your obvious talent.
For something you were doing as a “good enough to get us moved” project, it turned out a lot better than that!
I learned from watching you whip up that custom trailer with spare parts...

Having a side door on the box makes getting in and out so much easier when making deliveries.
I love the ingenuity that a man alone can come up with.
Thanks for the video.
Great work, I wouldn't have even known where to start
Nice job, the door works pretty good without the extra hinges.
I was a little nervous the lack of hinges would cause some unforeseen issue, but it's holding up
Kiddos are freaking cute. Good fix on door 👍
Nice, I've often wondered how to do that on my own box truck, good luck with the move...

I was skeptical too and had no idea how it would turn out. It's been working great so far. I did add grease before final install
Nice work! Your little girl did well with the outro also!
"OK guys, let me show you something very dangerous..."
(Proceeds to show a Prius parked).
Indeed!
hahahaha
Another star... great outro little one!
When your ready to take that beast to AZ, let me know. We can convoy. I'm moving there sometime in the near future. Lol.

Thank you for this video I have the same exact problem with my box truck

I've done one of these. Very not fun. Good on ya for doing it.
Nice Job , thanks for posting . I have to repair the door on my stationary Box that I Keep my Hot Rod in tomorrow . Great imfo. Thanks.
Great video
You're lucky it's just that. I have a trailer from 1965 and the whole door has to be replaced.
I need help replacing my roll up door on my box truck
*NICE FIX*

Lift gate is worth every penny
Nice job! I’m a semi trailer mechanic and do this type of work all day long. If you ever need any pointers down the road send over a message
I need some help mine are rotten out
I don’t try anything that you do on your channel at home, it’s all strictly for entertainment purposes only!

@@AustinCoulson You are a true 100% giver, Austin. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talents and your beautiful family on your channel.
I’m from Odenville. I’m in the middle of converting a u-haul in to a r-v/ tiny home.
You posting videos or pics of the process anywhere?
@@AustinCoulson not yet. I just bought it 3 days ago. My roll up door is janky so. Your video was the first to pop up on door repair. 😁
Do you have a CDL (do you even need one for this size truck)? Have you considered keeping the truck and using it to haul freight as a side job?
its under 26k and no air brakes so no cdl required. I have not thought of that. Maybe I should

Like a Pro! lol
Perfect! 😊👍🏻
Hey brother what’s the dimensions of the panels
I don't remember exactly. I know I had to cut down an 8ft plywood sheet so it was around 7.5' and I think each panel was 12-13"
Somebody didn't secure their load. Pallet jack rolled back and took out the bottom repeatedly. A garage door gasket would seal it up nice.
Those panels are around 100 a piece at a trailer shop
I never even thought about calling a trailer shop to try to source individual panels. That woulda been way easier.
Hey bro are u still in Nashville?
I moved to Spokane
This was hard to watch as someone who installed these... tension is dangerous... lucky guy
You must have gone to REWIS
