Konami doing what they do best. I wish they would just try to save face and just sell the Silent Hill and MGS intellectual properties to Sony. Then Sony can have Kojima Productions resurrect both.
Nice beard! My one problem with Alchimilla is that there is no threat and nothing is scary. It's just puzzles in decrepit but beautiful environments. It didn't need combat but it at least needed an actual enemy to attack you or something that could kill you. Maybe fatal consequences for failing some puzzles or more exploration based challenges and less Siren frozen towel based nonsense. It's atmosphere is perfect but Silent Hill isn't the same without death actually looming above or actual survival. That and the lack of even an implied story are what ruin it for me. It would be like buying a puzzle with no image just pieces that form a white rectangle when all is said and done.

I did yeah. T'was good but it didn't really change how I feel about Downpour. I never really said that I think that it's a bad game by the way. It's okay at best on it's own. But it just doesn't appeal to me much, or have any of the elements that drew me to the original Silent Hill games.

Personally, I'm fine with the series just dying out. Though if it had to continue, I'd like to see Grasshopper Manufacture have a go at it. Or Project Siren, who were founded by the director of SH1. I'd like to either be really really faithful to what Team Silent were doing, or something that simply takes the setting and it's themes, and then completely runs with them to make something insane.
ThorHighHeels I find it weird that so many of the fanbase is okay with SH dying ? Is there a reason for that? From my perspective, the series potential for storylines hasn't even been taped yet, and it seems like a fomula that can work for a long time . A person goes into a town and is tested almost in a moral or spiritual way. It's like purgatory. You have to learn your lesson to get out of this torturous town or you will die. And what Shattered Memories showed us how different the interpretation of the town can be. The town can be a foggy town, or a blizzard, or pitch black, or in flames, or anything. There's so much potential for so many characters and stories on what can happen in Silent Hill. Like a twilight zone episode, it's unique because it's self contained and can be understood without watching the others. Am I the only one who thinks this?
I can't speak for others, but I just really liked SPECIALLY what Team Silent did. I get what you mean, about the setting having potential, but so far everyone else who's had a go at it, didn't give me what Team Silent gave me. Not that I disliked games like Shattered Memories per se, or some of the fan games, but it's different to me to the point that, it might as well have been called something else. Even if some elements were copied successfully. It's like, there isn't anything stopping anyone from making their own stories about a fucked up town. No need for me to have it be associated with Silent Hill necessarily. Silent Hill-like could even become it's own genre if not already. Just like "Lovecraftian" has. I mean, how weird would it be if anything inspired by Love Craft's stories, would just straight up co-opt his name, as if he himself wrote it? I'd rather have more games like Banned Memories or Lone Survivor, then more straight up fan games, and Konami whoring out the license.
Rebirth should have use dynamic lighting script and modified mode7 to fake perspective when character moves away from camera. Also there is no limit to the amount of frames for character animation so this was just laziness.
THis video makes me sad, because of all Konami shit, because of lack of fangames, and stuff. Silent Hill deserves beter. Good video anyway, but i'm still sad. ... Though, i really want to confess. I love series as a whole (at least the main series), but i have such an opinon about a couple of games that i'm being hated for them most of the time. Like, i don't like Homecoming myself, it's a broken game that is a bad silent hill, but i think we just need to forget about it... Like, forget that it even exists. It doesn't deserve even being remembered. It shouldn't exist. At the same time, i love Downpour, i really do. Especially if we can exclude it's unpolished state. It is, by far, one of my favourites in the series, on the same shelf with Shattered Memories, 4 and 3. Downpour doesn't deserve such harsh critisism and hate. ...at the same time, i have a really hatefull relationships with Silent Hill 2, which is the only other game in the series i can't stand, and i don't even know why. I actually loved it when i first played it, but after replaying it a couple of years ago to the completion... I don't know why, but i hate it wholeheartedly, while actually understanding all of it's glory and everything that is good with it, especially athmosphere and characters, and it's overall a brilliant game. And i still hate it for uknkown reasons. Though, it is probably connected to James, who i hate with my everything... I hate him so much that i even had dreams of killing him brutally many times. And i don't even understand why i hate him so much. I don't know. I can't understand.
downpour>homecoming any day for sure! I think downpour and shattered memories were the only good non team silent games. and you actually make a valid reason of why Silent hill 2 isn't for you and I respect that
I have another title you can add to your list gamejolt.com/games/silent-manor-public-demo/215319 just a demo i made, but have received positive feedback so far! Try it if you want to!
So true about the rpg maker stuff. All the games are actually fucking novels. I disagree with something tho, any first person game with that kind footstep sounds will feel like a source engine generic game.
"The crying lady in the bathroom that's never alluded to or ever explained" Really dude? It's pretty clearly supposed to be Alessa hiding from the other students, which themselves are represented by the grey children enemies.
I mean it's not explicitly confirmed, but given how meticulous Team Silent typically is about symbolism it's pretty doubtful that it was just there for no reason. Though I guess it is kind of odd that it's in the boy's bathroom rather than the girl's bathroom, it seems pretty unlikely that Alessa would hide out there.
I dont mean to be a dbag or anything but some of these fan remake are awful looking the third on looks like a something from when video motion was all the rage for pc games in the early 90s lol the fan remake of resident evil are way better.

(Not inferring the video it’s bad whatsoever but those first two games equal oh naw)
Am I the only one who thought that Silent Hills looked like a bad Silent Hill game?
Nah I felt the same. I was interested in what Kojima was making still, but I never really looked at it as a "new silent hill game" per se.
I can't understand.
lol
downpour>homecoming any day for sure! I think downpour and shattered memories were the only good non team silent games. and you actually make a valid reason of why Silent hill 2 isn't for you and I respect that
still mourning for silent hill
tHat's preTTy GOod
corpse party fan game...
I have another title you can add to your list gamejolt.com/games/silent-manor-public-demo/215319 just a demo i made, but have received positive feedback so far! Try it if you want to!
VLC logos lol
So true about the rpg maker stuff. All the games are actually fucking novels.
I disagree with something tho, any first person game with that kind footstep sounds will feel like a source engine generic game.
I know you're probably not gay Thor but I'm not trying to be creepy when I say this but damn you look really cute and handsome 🥰
I'm so thankful for youtubers like you to play shitty games for us so we can just not waste our time.
"The crying lady in the bathroom that's never alluded to or ever explained"
Really dude? It's pretty clearly supposed to be Alessa hiding from the other students, which themselves are represented by the grey children enemies.
but hey, that's just a theory. a gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
That intro still better music than silent hill
A cooler name would have been AchillesHighHeels.
But my name is Thor tho

I swear to God, you chuckle at anything you say that isn't even remotely funny every 10 seconds, making the video a bit hard to watch.
