    Love the video. I did camp at courtside at one time, but it was very early before everybody got there all the solar stuff that’s out right now. I have to learn about it. So I can set up my tab with the best solar I can afford. Love your videos don’t miss any of them. I don’t use my tab as much as you do when I feel really guilty about it.😂

      Thank you. It's not bad camping out there on the early or end season. it's way less crowded. Hope you get to use your T@b more this year. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

    I was there Saturday. It was crazy packed when we were there. That Lance camper was nice, but it needs a few fixes. Great video either way.

      OH very cool. Yeah, a few of the used trailers definitely need some love. Sunday was pretty packed also, but it was fun to experience. I'd like to hit a really big rv show some day and see how that is. Thanks, I appreciate you watching and commenting again.

    Neat that you visited Quartzsite. We were down there a few years ago, I want to go back. So much fun seeing all the cool tools and gadgets. Have you considered camping there during the festivities?

    • @DSWadventures
      @DSWadventures  14 днів тому +1

      Oh, cool. Yep, they just about have everything around there. I actually haven't camped in the typical ltva areas before, not really my cup of camping tea. But I have camped way out in some of the surrounding area many times. I was thinking of staying in an ltva at least one time just out of curiosity, haha. We will, haha. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Hello,
    Great video and information. My wife and I are planning on camping at Quartzite next year (2026). We had planned on a 2025 visit but had inclement weather move into Indiana thus affecting our travel plans. Hey, Mr. Fish is a pretty cool and you should invite him in more of your videos!!
    Question if I may. I had already asked you about camping in Arizona but something came up with regards to our rig. Our 2024 Nissan frontier Pro-4X can tow 6200 lbs, and has a tongue weight limit of 600 lbs. So, pulling our 2021 TAB 320s Boondock is no issue. However, I did find that the actual payload capacity is around 1100 lbs which includes passengers, tongue weight and anything in the bed of the truck. With a fridge in the back, a A.R.E truck cap, a 2kW Ecoflow power station, roof solar panels, a shovel, food, truck gear and the TAB 320 tongue weight...we are actual about 80lbs over the maximum payload capacity. I was pretty upset with the Nissan until I looked at my 2005 Dodge Ram 4x4 which only has a max payload of 1200 lbs. Not trying to be nosey but have you looked at the Toyota payload capacity versus what you are carrying? To be honest, I am worried that the extra weight could cause frame, axel or tire issues. I am finding ways to get the weight down but, even with the minimum, I am still at the max payload...and thus a bit paranoid about it... Thanks for any suggestions...

      Haha, Mr. Fish is a good guy. He will be out again, I'm sure. Dang, yes, i see how bad the weather is getting up north right now. I have a video about going to the weigh station that may help a little. Technically, im slightly over its capacity also. I'm sure you will probably be just fine in your frontier. I would say to, of course, try to get your weight down in the truck if you can. Also, where you place weight in the vehicle matters as well. Put the heavier items in the front of your bed. The next thing is, does your truck sit close to level with the trailer level attached. If not, you may need to beef up the rear springs or add some kind of sumo bump stop. I'm not familiar with the nissan suspension or after-market parts. Of course, adding a trailer brake controller to the truck should be a givin. I have seen a few pulling airstream base camps with frontiers, and they weigh in a lot more than our Tab 320s. Let me know what you figure out, I'm curious. I'm sure you will be fine, just take it nice and easy, be very cautious. Make sure you're not straining the vehicle out when driving, and most importantly, you are able to brake well.

      @@DSWadventures Thanks, I really appreciate your help. Sad thing is, I have two other "Overland" UA-camrs within 50 miles of me and I can't even get any help from them. I understand the UA-cam thing and their privacy. However, I did offer to meet elsewhere and pay for their lunch at their convenience...just an hour to ask some basic questions being a newbie... Anyway, I was fortunate to find your channel. You put out a lot of great vids and I appreciate your feedback. Thanks...
      As for the Nissan, I do have the trailer level. I tried to keep heavier items above the axle or a bit forward of it. Chairs, portable solar panels, awning and ext,, go inside the TAB. I just need to get the equipment down. I am a big guy and losing 30-40lbs would help as well...
      I am probably worrying a bit to much since I have seen these Gladiator guys with heavy off-road bumper, winches, 35" heavy tires, fridge, slider, rood top tent, solar panel and pulling and expedition trailer. I know our trucks have a heavier payload than the jeeps. I intend to put on Summo springs as soon as it warms up... Have a good time in your upcoming "out of state" camp adventure!

      @mcbretprivatecitizen3322 No problem. All normal things to be worried about. There is so much conflicting information out there that it can be over whelming and confusing. Just feel it out. It's hard to say how that should feel, you know your vehicle, but rule of thumb, its always good to keep the trailer weight a lot lower than the vehicle gvwr, i would think. Also, check your door sticker weight or manual for your exact truck specs. I see some tow 1000- 1500 lbs more of trailer with Tacomas, and they say it's fine. Me, on the other hand, I'd say that wouldn't be very enjoyable. But, my truck is loaded out more and on bigger tires also. Plus, where you primarily tow makes a huge difference. Elevation, road speeds, steep grades to flat land.

    I'm glad I wasn't there. I am unable to resist buying stuff that I "need". I was curious about that 300Ah battery. It looked like it was about the same size as a standard 100Ah battery. How did the size compare? I don't really need more capacity but....

    • @DSWadventures
      @DSWadventures  12 днів тому

      Hahahaa, I refrained from the big purchases, this time. Hahaa. The epoch 300ah was a few inches taller, wider longer. Not much bigger, think it weighs about 60lbs, though. The victron 300 battery was even smaller, but that's because it does not have a build in Bms computer. I'd rather have the build in battery management for my use personally. Still, very cool battery tech is shrinking and getting more powerful.

    • @stevenjoseph8980
      @stevenjoseph8980 12 днів тому +1

      @@DSWadventures Yeah the tech on lithium batteries is going make smaller higher capacity possible. My two 100Ah lithium batteries are in the under seat space on the passenger side banquet seat so it's tight but one larger battery would save me space in the long run. But until I really push my camping to the point that I really need that capacity, the 200Ah I already have is fine. I did see that the Bluetti AC180 is 480 on Amazon so that may be my next big purchase but only if/when I really need it.
      On another note, all those RV's camping in Quartzite looks awful.

    • @DSWadventures
      @DSWadventures  12 днів тому

      @stevenjoseph8980 oh yeah. You should be fine. I'm getting away with a single 100ah. Plus, my ac180 if I need to charge the trailer or for use elsewhere. And the generator if need be ahha. So I also will wait for the batteries to shrink a little more before I upgrade. I also forgot that I can hook my 15amp victron charger to the Tacomas rear ac power port if need be to charge the trailer, or even the shore power cable.

    • @stevenjoseph8980
      @stevenjoseph8980 12 днів тому +1

      @@DSWadventures I kind of forgot about the outlet in the truck bed. I guess that is a generator right?
      Is the Bluetti basically a very smart battery? I don't know that much about them but how does it differ from just using/charging my on board lithium batteries? Does is charge faster? I have a 120W portable panel that I can connect to the T@B and have a 180W panel on the roof. I;m just curious on what the advantages are. Or why would I need one? I only need a couple good reasons to buy one. Lol.

    • @DSWadventures
      @DSWadventures  12 днів тому

      @stevenjoseph8980 the tacomas rear inverter goes up to 400 watts. So it just works for a victron ip65 12v 15 amp battery charger. But, it will not power some of these new power station off the tacoma ac port because they suck a lot of juice fast. My ac 180 is basically a 100ah battery, it will charge dead to full off of home ac in about 1hour haha. The advantage of some of the bigger solar generators like bluetti, eco flow, ect, is that it's like having a non gas powered generator. The inverter in my bluetti ac180 pushed up to 1800 watts. It has usb, usb-c, dc, ac ports with wireless phone charging. I've had a couple bluettis before the trailer i take along for powering a separate fridge and charging things. It charges off the cig plug in the truck or solar when off the grid. So rather than adding a bigger battery to my tab, I just my bluetti to charge small things, run my starlink, or charge the Tabs battery when I need a little more power in the tab via the 15amp victron charger or shore power. I can even run the microwave in the tab with the ac180 ahha. Hobotech on youtube does a lot of power station and solar reviews, really detailed too.
