      The reason is really funny:
      The Oriental Land Company kept calling Disney, wanting to make a Disneyland in Japan. But the folks at Disney were already preoccupied with Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot. They didn't have the money to work on another park. Repeatedly, someone answers the phone, then exclaims "The Japanese are calling again!" After call after call, Disney decided to give the OLC an offer so one-sided that they just had to refuse and stop calling:
      The Oriental Land Company must run the park themselves and fund everything, while Disney can make the attractions and get the royalties.
      ...then the OLC accepted. Tokyo Disneyland was then and continues to be a massive success.

    You know what blows my mind. The idea that I would go to another country on vacation and buy Starbucks.

    • @tdrexplorer
      @tdrexplorer  Рік тому +29

      I mention it because in other Disney Parks there is Starbucks right in the park. Where as the ones in Japan doesn’t. That’s why I mentioned it.

      The reason is because other Disney parks have starbucks in them! They even have special disney starbucks cups and mugs and sometimes even pins!

    I knew someone who worked at US Disneyland. She said after midnight the trains only came every hour, so she'd often not get home until 4 or 5 in the morning after a late shift and helping clean up after the guests. Hearing that Tokyo Disneyland takes care of their workers makes me happy.
