Love your content, very helpful! I have been on Etsy for 1 year and views and sales have been picking up, but I am looking to take it to the next level. Do you think it's a bad idea to combined product offerings or niches? I have a wood sign shop, but have recently started doing apparel and gift type items (sublimation). I was thinking of re-branding and offering all in one shop or would it be smarter to have more than one Etsy shop?

Funny thing is I didn’t focus on what was trending but focused on what design I thought looked good and tried to think about what my audience needed and not wanted. 2 years later I have 3k sales. Not totally amazing but I have had slow growth instead of overnight growth. I also focused on perfecting my craft before offering it to the market.
Slow growth is definitely still great and more steady a lot of times!!

Thank you for sharing this. What are you thoughts of an LLC and tax ID and starting a business from the beginning? Also, can you give an example of what you mean by number 10 with replicating and scaling? Thank you :)
I definitely think starting an LLC from the beginning is a good idea if you think this will be a long-term thing for you. As far as replicating and scaling, I’m referring to renewing and selling with the same listings over and over as opposed to selling unique, one of a kind items and creating a brand new listing each time.
I started my shop 5 weeks ago. I’ve had 6 sales on Etsy and 3 in person sales. The week I spent a lot of time on social media I got the most sales. But sometimes days go by without orders. It can be so discouraging!
Hey Elizabeth! That’s wonderful you’ve already had sales (took me a couple months before getting my first sale)! External promotion (social media, collabs, etc) is definitely the best way to drive traffic and create momentum in the beginning!!

You don’t have to use a gray card. You can just use a white card or something white.
Thank you Kate :) The email list, would that be created from social media? How would you do it with Etsy?
The first step is to choose an email service provider (Convertkit, mail chimp, Active Campaign, Flodesk are some great ones). Then decide on a lead magnet or opt-in that you could give for free in exchange for someone signing up for your list (this would be hosted on a landing page that you set up- some email providers have landing page capability included, some don’t so you’d need to use something like Leadpages for this). Once you have it all set up, post the link for your landing page all over the place (on Etsy shop announcement, social media, etc)- promoting your free lead magnet! There are lots of great tutorials (more in depth) on this process on UA-cam- a bit of effort to get it set up on the front end but SO worth it!!

You definitely don’t HAVE to have a blog or any other source of traffic to get started on Etsy but it’s a great idea to have a marketing plan on at least one external platform to drive traffic to your shop. This will help it to get off the ground faster!

Unfortunately no, it only applies if you use the link to open a shop.
I started my etsy shop three times ago and till now I'm not getting any orders which is discouraging regardless if the views and visits I had every day
don’t be discouraged…i still am trying to stay positive & keep working on my etsy shop in hopes that one day i’ll actually start really seeing a profit and/or more than just 1 or 2 sales every 1-3 months :( i opened up my shop February 2022 & sofar only have made 14 sales - so î completely understand your discouragement friend).

I’d love to understand “stacking listings” a little more. Are you saying to take a listing that’s performing well and duplicate it with different SEO or are you saying just list similar items over and over and over?

I started an Etsy shop in July, and i was surprised of the early success. I do vinyl decals and art, focused on gaming. However, Etsy suspended my shop for 5 days, with no explanation, and since it has been activated again I have had no traffic, truly frustating.
So sorry, friend- that is definitely frustrating! I’d say to focus on driving traffic on your own in any way you can- social media, email, collabs, etc. If you can manually get some momentum going again with some sales, it may help the algorithm to pick your listings back up!

@@kaileyanne i was wondering that too, I try to keep things neutral, I see others who do completely rip off logos lol. It happened just after I added a print on demand item to my site, so i was wondering if that triggered something. The fact they never explained what happened is frustrating, I'd like to avoid another suspension.

Hello, I have a question. I am selling items on etsy. There are too many inconsistencies in my sales. For example, if I sold 10 products yesterday, I can sell 1 or 2 products today and tomorrow, why?
Hey there! In my experience, Etsy has always been a bit up and down like this and though you can generally see a seasonal pattern, sometimes the differences from day to day really seem to have no rhyme or reason. Not a reason to get worried though unless you see a consistent decline over a long period of time!

I started my etsyshop and in a few hours was “permanently suspended “ 🤦🏻♀️ after a day or 2 i Receved an email with a long list if posible reasons .. nothing that was on point.. Not ever that I WANT to sell on Etsy I will not recommend to anywone. Big disapointment after years that I followed Etsy as a buyer

Which product niche are you into?
ETSY is NOT as good as it once was. As a seller, it's becoming harder & harder to keep up, & etsy introduces new rules, plans and suggestions that costs the seller, but profits etsy. They take NO risks, but expect the sellers to shoulder allll the risks with sales, discounts etc. What's more, their Customer Service is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to. I've tried & tried for months, to no avail. VERY discouraging & frustrating!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO NEW-COMERS WANTING A SURE & FAIR THING!!
