Really tough to pick from a masterpiece, but for me, it's: Duality Ground Only The Strong Survive -OR- Meiso It was really tough to leave out Most Wanted Man, but Big Shug just didn't do it for me. That beat deserved much better rhymes.
Man, what a fucking time to be alive and what a fantastic album indeed. This reminds me of driving around my hometown with my boy, rolling blunts and just being 15-16 years old, without a care in the world. Not knowing how hard life was to become....The blissful ignorance of youth then, leaving only longing nostalgia now. Thank you Krush for being one of the albums that made up the soundtrack of my life, from high school through college
Just classic downtempo hiphop! Check out DJ's Spinna, Vadim, Nujabes, Shadow, DJ Drez (Dr. EZ), Elusive (from Living Legends crew), Prince Paul, Nightmares on Wax, all the Mark Farina Mushroom Jazz series. Peace!
Found this amongst my dads jazz collection when I was a kid, so grateful I grew up with real hiphop, especially when I hear what the kids are bumpin these days 🤦♂️
When this dropped no one thought “this is real hip hop” Most people didn’t care. A few college radio stations played the Roots cut and heads went nuts over the first DJ Shadow instrumental. I love this project but no one was like “this is real hip hop”
Decades later this album just keeps getting better and better. Wish this was on steaming services but thank you for uploading this and especially this good quality. Like everyone in the comments…what a time to come up in music. My introduction to Dj Shadow like many others..but man..the mood krush sets up on this album. Even when you get emcees on here it still feels like Krush’s world they’re co inhabiting. Even the Futura cover art was so crazy.
On Bypath3, that rhode sample is taken from Dexter Wansel's Keyboards Riffs Vol 2 - Rhode Piano Part at 1.00. I'm 100% sure of that. Btw I wasnt born a this time (1993)
Bypath 3 rivals nujabes feather in terms of beautiful sampling(?). May even be strictly better cause it's instrumental (not a diss to Cise Star or Akin)
Torgan releases after 1995 had nothing with the ones from 88-95, nwa, gangstarr, group home, jeru, public enemy,guru... and so on..Im talking about real old school hip hop.hoq old are you? you must be young asking me that
crnacpanker I'm 20. I listen hip-hop not too much. More often i listen electronic music, instrumental hip-hop, nu jazz and experimental music, but when I listen some of rap tracks I prefer old-school than new-school

I have had the pleasure of being able to listen to Meiso, Ki-Oku, and Jaku, love all of them

Felt this one man, same shit....life was superb and so was the herb!
great comment 💯👊
one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time
Krush knows to use the needle like a samurai sword
BEST ALBUM FROM KRUSH, PERIOD.
This album was my introduction to instrumental hip-hop back in the ‘90s. And actually how I found out about DJ Shadow. Great music.
Dj krush, legend ahead of his time
I like how this is still getting a steady stream of views (like 150 per day). I hope this appears in more people's recommended.
yes glad i found this, even though it's 10yrs older than me
I like this album a lot. It's raw and minimalistic.
Just classic downtempo hiphop! Check out DJ's Spinna, Vadim, Nujabes, Shadow, DJ Drez (Dr. EZ), Elusive (from Living Legends crew), Prince Paul, Nightmares on Wax, all the Mark Farina Mushroom Jazz series. Peace!
@@_thevaporz I love Shadow. Ninja Tune was where I first heard Krush, Shadow, Wagon Christ, etc. Heavy shit.
❤️
I remember this 24 years ago, like yesterday, even when I wasn't the best.

@@SmokeDrawRepeat it's not hip-hop, it's trip hop. Mowax RIP
Real sh*t!

All time favorite.
This is some heavy Samurai Shit. You can't mess with Krush's Beats and Warrior Spirit.
spysun04 boom
He’s more of a Ronin/shinobi and it shows through these beats 🎧

....thanks for the upload....I just bought it on vinyl....sounds good in my speakers...
Congrats
Simply the best album in the history of hip-hop.
not really but another hip hop can exist fck yeah
@VinylRecordsCareEtc "Ki-Oku", recorded with Toshinori Kondo is actually the kingdom of trip-hop ;)
Wait what? It's Trip Hop, brah.
It's very great, but no

Respect for the upload. Top bassage!
Twelve peoples didn't have a crush on Krush.
This comment is underrated, just like this album
Classic
out in the space i am whit this
Great album and great year '95 bby😁
YES
Saw Krush at Coachella in either 04 or 05. Sadly his brand of trip hop got drowned out by acts that were allowed to be way too loud
I'm sorry you had that experience. I would be infuriated with that scenario.
I was there too. His set at Coachella was phenomenal. Just blew me away.
1ST TRACK FT CL, YOU KNOW YOU NOT GONNA FUCK WITH KRUSH >>>>
ILL BBONG
HoOoo Fire!
the best album and the one that's not on spotify. whyeeeeeee
Brian Long Go and buy the album you fool :) lol only joking
Yeah, I've owned the album on CD for like 20 years. I want to stream it :P
Brian Long Just play the CD, Spotify is compressed mp3 shit :)
Play it in what device??? :P Spotify sound quality doesn't bother me. I could hear bad compression on rd.io, but not on Spotify.
Gm shadowtraders just wants you to use your CD player app on your phone 😂 or maybe he/she assumes you still have a Walkman
thanks! cool!
Good sound quality

6 stupids persons don't like this Masterpiece.
11 stupid people now... Probably, they prefer Kodak Black... :D :D :D
Why even mentioning them..
Lol they don't like it because they can't comprehend the extensive vocab
Just realized the first track's bassline's from "Five Man Army"
By Massive Attack? If yes, well, it has similar characteristics, but not the same I'm sure.

what's even barber beats if not trip-hop / downtempo anyways?

Duality...used to drop this non stop back in 95 as well as DJ Crystls mix of Meiso
Seems that the strongest of all survived.
Classic stuff, bought it when it came out, still sounds so good.
I wonder why this album is not on streaming services??
most likely sample issues
09:03 >> WHAT'S BEHIND DARKNESS, THAT BASS LAYER MAN !
Duality is fantastic.
20+ YEARS LATER, MAN JUST TOOK VILLAGE UNDERGROUND / LDN INTO A MAD JOURNEY LIVE, JUST A KING!
Awesome music. Wish i was aware of this back in 95 when i was 17yo. Great upload.
Back when you had to hunt for tunes, in the record shop.
So you are ,47-48
Pure Gold! 💥❤💯
Probably one of the best and longest trip hop DJ's that has ever been. Big up to the 90's crewe and the 60's Mkr 2.
