Follow along with our family as we share our life events while living on our 168 acre homestead, farm and stables! We are all about raising and training our horses, the Missouri Foxtrotter. Our goal is to bring awareness to this breed and showcase just how wonderful they are! We also raise and train our working border collie dogs. And don’t forget the homesteads sheep, goats and mini cattle!!! We also go to occasional auctions and recently have gotten into regenerative farming/agriculture. We are all about learning how to improve our fields/soil.

Isn’t there a SPCA for horses. Or do they cover horses? He was pretty much on deaths door and they were holding out for more money. What about the other horses they have I doubt they’re in good condition.
@@teresawright5654there are animal protection agencies across the USA and Texas must be very invested in Horses. I'm looking through the comments to see if whoever is responsible for the condition Oliver was in has been exposed and stopped from ever having any animals due to her neglect and abuse of animals and the auction systems

Way to go Ollie!!! and family of course!! I've been around horses for 40 years and to this day I have a hard time remembering that the draft breeds do not grow like our riding horses. The drafts grow more after they turn one and continue well into year 4. Congratulations on the Big Handsome Boy, your UA-cam Clyde....doin' a great job! You do not have to thank us, we are thanking you!! To have pulled him away from death's door because we viewers asked you to, that is a miracle - as is Ollie

I’ve been watching Oliver’s story from the beginning. It’s been a heartwarming journey! Seeing him run behind JRs four wheeler was the perfect reward.
I don't mean to be a jerk but it looks like he was being PULLED, not running behind willingly. It made me very uncomfortable to see that. Why not let him pull something instead of dragging him behind a four wheeler by a chain/rope? CRINGE
@@paulascott5701 yes it may look like he’s being pulled but you have to remember Oliver has went thru a lot. Almost being starved to death then the PTM. He’s still a growing boy and with just trying to get him well, he was not trained to pull anything or ridden or anything of the like at the time of this video. Also with trying to get him well, Oliver is a big eater and goes slow. He really is just a gentle giant that has to be coaxed to go a little faster paced than what he wants to go.
It is such a joy to see Oliver's development🐴😍! He looks and acts like a different horse and his eyes do not look sad anymore, but shine with gentleness, animation and happiness. All your efforts, love and care for sure have paid off!👍👏♥️
The difference between dear Oliver before and him now is nothing short of miraculous! I got tears in my eyes while watching this video. Tears of sorrow and outrage at the before images. Tears of joy and triumph with the after images. Oliver is a special boy. Thank God, thank the Rosa family, and for all the Oliver community for helping Oliver become well. It's amazing what a little love can do. He is one big, handsome, sweet, happy fellow now. Best wishes and blessings to all!

Oliver looks wonderful! I remember his condition the first time and then again back in Texas. He's gone from sad and doomed to splendid and destined to be happy and loved the rest of his life!

My granddaughter is going to be so happy to see this. She askes me about Oliver every time I go over to see them. While she is not "horse crazy" something about Oliver sparked an interest in her. She does not know it yet but we have booked a few riding lessons for her at a local stable. She may love it...or she may hate it...but as parents and grandparents we have to give them the chance...and get out of their way. You may have changed her life as well as Oliver's. Thank you.

Oliver's new family has done a lot of work. It's not easy bringing a sick horse thru the worst. Also many thanks go to the people who sent lots of good hay and medicine and all the things that this horse needed to bring him back to good health. It all costs a lot of money. And a lot of people gave generously so this horse could live and become the horse God meant him to be. He's healthy and looking really great.

There's that saying that it "takes a village to raise a child"; well it took a UA-cam community to help the Rosa family heal and raise a sick young horse. Kudos to everyone, to all of us!

This is an amazing story and you guys have performed a miracle! If you hadn’t have rescued Oliver he would have been horse meat. He is now an absolutely stunning Clydesdale. And what a happy boy he is. Credit to you all. ❤❤
Can horses with a disease such as EPM be slaughtered for human consumption?! It seems similar to mad cow disease that effects the spinal cord & limits what parts can be used. I would not want to feed EPM to a dog either. Just the thought seems awful.

@@littlewiseowl4405Not the same thing, because EPM is caused by Protozoa that can be killed by medication. Mad cow is a prion disease which is caused by beta pleated sheets of protein in the brain, and they don’t know the cause.

It is amazing what Oliver has come to mean to me. I have some major health problems and am now disable. I wish I could do something to help support Oliver and someday I might be able till then I have done all I can do by sharing and talking up your channel. I’m not a big horse person I have owned a few way back in my youth. I first subscribed because Jerry ask his viewers to and I watched a few of the river videos and just happened to see the first Oliver video and was touched by how sad he looked and I started watching a little more often so I’ve been following him from the beginning. I have since watched all of your videos at least twice and several many more times. I talk about Oliver so much my wife says he is like one of my nephews. Somewhere along the way I’ve noticed Rebecca and how amazing she is for her age. If you should ever find yourself near North Carolina I would consider it a great honor to meet and shake your hand. I think it would be great if you and Jerry could work together building Oliver a show cart it could make some great crossover videos that I think would help both channels. I had no idea the extent of the damage he had from the EPM - and to see him running now is truely a miraculous blessing! Thank you again for giving this young horse the time, care, medicine, and groceries to heal him both physically and mentally.

I’ve been watching Oliver’s story since you came across my feed on your trip down to Texas. It’s truly upsetting just what poor shape he was in. The fact a human being was *keeping* him this way is *abhorrent.* Your family, along with your family of viewers, have truly come together for his cause. In doing so we’ve been given a window into portions of your family’s lives - the care, love, dedication, breeding and training of quality, happy, loving horses. I cannot thank you enough for sharing these moments on UA-cam - they bring me such joy, especially when bed bound from my chronic illnesses flares. Jesus has asked us to take care of the least of these and I believe this includes domesticated animals who depend on humans not only for survival but also for quality and substance in their lives. Rosa Family, you are truly a blessing to all those who know you and know of you. From the bottom of my heart - *thank you💜*

I’ve watched your videos from the beginning, but I never get tired of watching Oliver’s story.
You know sometimes it's not what you do, but that you simply do something. Not every act of kindness turns out like this, but when it does it's one of the best feelings you can have. I offered help, as did so many others and it's nice to know it helped Oliver to get better. To see him in all his glory today is more thanks than expected. He looks and IS a totally new creation. All the help in the world could only do so much. You owe Oliver's recovery to OUR Lord, Jesus. It was his choice to cure him. I want to think that seeing how everyone was willing to offer help through either prayer or donations, Jesus thought he would gift him a new life with you all and I guess to a degree us out here. Take good care of this handsome boy. He is afterall, a gift from GOD❤❤

It is incredible how Oliver looks now compared to when you'll brought him to the homestead. He doesn't even look like the same horse! He is the "Big Shiny Golden Boy" now. He looks so healthy now, and JR gave him quiet the workout running. He didn't skip a beat! Love you, Oliver. ❤❤❤❤
Your family are absolutely wonderful people. You knew how much work it would take to get Oliver healthy and you still took on the challenge. I am so thankful he ended up in your family. There seems to be valuable lessons on many levels in Oliver and your family’s story. The one that stands out in my mind is no matter how far you may fall or how poorly you may look, or how much you have suffered, there is still a chance, there is still hope, and most of all there is still the love that complete strangers will show you. If that’s not a miracle, I don’t know what is. With Oliver at Death’s Door, and seeing J.R.’s and your family’s love for him, combined with the love and generosity of all the viewers/strangers contributing, it just makes my heart so happy. Against all odds, you folks worked a miracle, and I really do believe you were meant to be there and find Oliver.

I think the stars aligned for Oliver to have been found by the Rosa family when he desperately needed help and love. Furthermore, that so many viewers saw that encounter and were moved so deeply that they funded the Rosa family’s pursuit of purchasing Oliver and bringing him to their loving home and healing him. He really is a beautiful horse.
Watching Oliver run and buck, so beautiful and strong and happy, just brings tears to my eyes. He was in such sad shape when you brought him home, I truly did not think he would make it.
