- This is a quick tutorial on how to set up the SMTP settings for using gmail to notify you of movement on your cameras. This particular tutorial is for DVR model SDR-B75301, but may apply to other Samsung DVRs as well. Pardon the poor audio. Hopefully this will help you out when it comes to the proper setup for getting gmail to work with this system.
Ok so I've used this video as my go to in the past many times. And I just noticed my DVR wasn't sending photos/videos to my email anymore. So I looked it up and recently Gmail as of May 30th 2022 I beleive it was Gmail no longer supports the use of third-party apps or devices. Has anyone ran into this issue while using this DVR and know the fix!? Please help 🙏 😭

Hey Jeepdude! You are my HERO! Samsung did not help me. Hughesnet did not help me but you did. It was that "less secure apps " button was off. I set it to on and my DVR now sends out intrusion alerts. YOU ARE DA MAN! (P.S. My son is a jeep dude also!)

I don't have incense, but I have one of the heated fragrance gizmos which I will turn on right now (with my Google Home assistant) in your honor!
Dude your a lifesaver, i monkeyed with this for months off and on trying to figure this part out. The part about the 3party access in the gmail account settings did it for me. I have the same system as you.

Yes, there is a way to do that. I'm not in front of my system right now, but if you go to the Email Schedule tab (Main menu-Parameter-Network-Email schedule) you should be able to choose times you receive emails for each particular channel.
I got a question for you I'm trying to figure out where in the world I got to the mask out section where you could take the Red Blocks and masked out, so it didn't record Motion in those do you by any chance remember where that's at? I have the same camera system.

Thank you so much for your instructions, is the user name and sender and receiver using the same email? is the password the email password for the sender/receiver? can I use the same email for the sender and receiver?
How do you connect the dvr to a network to remote view it? I have the same model as yours. I also already have the dvr connected to a router.
I have tried several times to access the DVR remotely using a browser with no success. I rely purely on using the Wiseview app on my phone. If anyone can chime in on how they accessed theirs, I'd love to get this info as well.

Drew, it should be relatively straightforward to view it on your Wiseview phone app. You will download the app, scan the QR code on your DVR box, and it should be pretty much done by then.

Any clue how to setup the recording only when theirs motion.. mine fills in 4 days it records 24/7..
Yes, you need to go into the main menu and select Record Schedule.You'll probably have to select the camera # you want to set first (you have to repeat it for all the cameras in your system). You'll see a green bar which shows standard recording. You need to click on the green bars to toggle them to "off". You should then click the "motion" button and click and drag the motion recording (yellow) bars to cover the times you want it to record. If you want to go even further you can choose areas on the camera that don't trigger motion recording, but it's okay to just set the DVR up for motion record only. I usually get about 1.5 months worth of DVR using 4 cameras on motion record only, and high quality playback.

Yes. There is an option in the menu to record motion events only. I'm not near the system right now otherwise I'd be able to walk you through it. I will make another video if you'd like. But if you go through the menu system under the "record" menu, it should jump out at you...

Can you set up for iPhone?
You have to download the WiseView app from the App Store. There should be a QR code sticker on your DVR. Scan the code to link your DVR to the app. You should see the video pop up after a brief buffer time.

I had to use Port 465 for SSL to work with Gmail, same DVR.

I'm not getting my cameras to connect to wifi, do you have a video on how to get cameras to connect to wifi?
These cameras and DVR cannot connect to wifi, they need to be hard wired to your LAN into your modem. Get an ethernet cable, connect the LAN port on the back of the DVR to an open slot on your modem. Once you do that, upload the WiseView app and scan the QR code when asked on your phone (there's a sticker on your DVR usually). That will allow you access to the cameras using the app.
getting connection timed out message. I am about ready to just buy a new system. Samsung is NO help.

Plug your Ethernet cable into the back of the DVR. There is a port for it.

Do you use the wiseview app? If so, is there a way to receive push notification when motion is detected?
The app itself offers no notifications. You have to follow my video to set up the email notifications. If you want push notifications, you have to go with something like the Ring.
Do you know how to save security videos
RONNIA RUIZ the only way to save them on the Samsung system is to get into the menu and search for the video (date and time and camera #) you want to save. Once you have it, select “quick save” and plug your USB flash drive into the DVR port. It will save files as an MP4 or mpeg, depending on what you choose. Make sure you’re not saving too much data onto the USB, otherwise you’ll get an error every time.
Also, use your remote control to select the save option once your mouse is unplugged from the USB port. I wish Samsung had two ports for this.

@@jeepdude67 SDR-B74301 ( 8 channels) has 2 ports one in the back to connect the mouse and the second port on the front to connect the usb flash drive. Thanks for the video and explanation pd: you are right there aren't many videos about this Samsumg dvr. Thanks again
How do you determine what port to use? I am wanting to use my hotmail/MSN account. The system i have is set to 00025.
Rachelle Thompson you have to find out the outgoing mail port Hotmail uses. That can usually be found in your mail settings.

How can you connect to Wi-Fi
This model DVR is purely hard wired, it doesn’t offer Wi-Fi. You have to plug it into your router. From there, you have to scan the QR code on your DVR with your phone as you set up the Wise View app. It should connect automatically.
