Loving the idea of low light, low energy LPS reef. So many incredible softies here in Australia. With that combination of equipment on this tank it will feel like it's running on cruise control :)
Please show us every step. Your excitement for this build reflects mine. The idea behind this build sounds really achievable for hobbyists with 12+mths experience.
Great video! Really enjoying this build! I’m mostly super excited to see the coral - of course! In terms of most popular return in Australia I would say Vectra, Sicce or even Octo. 👌
Jake, if you see this I was wondering if you would take 5 minutes and scan his saltwater aquarium. It is my favorite outside of the bonsai style SPS on top of SPS in Australia and the large, mixed shallow reef that you have shared on this very channel. ua-cam.com/video/Ms_2qIDPDxo/v-deo.html From what I've gained about you I feel that you may be somewhat interested and entertained by this reefer and his philosophy. At least in my eyes, you two are similar souls. Thank you forever for your work in education and your inspiring passion for our hobby. x
Looking great, as far as return pumps popular in Australia, in Sydney at least it’s mainly sicce silents and ecotech vectra’s not sure about the rest of the country but Marco rock is very hard to find but can be done thankfully
Hello fellow Aussie here. Oh man I’ve watched 2 min and I’m frothing. I’ve just upgraded to this tank, I’ll be watching to see how this tank progresses.
I had two in the past but I had to give them away sold my house. Now I’m renting and it’s hard to do it again plus up in Darwin it’s hard to get fish and a lot of stuff for the marine fish keeping
Are bounce mushrooms 🍄 considered low light 💡 can go with the corals he’s pointing out? I think I want to create a tank like this but I’m in love with the bounce mushrooms 🍄
Is the bottom of the tank white like that from a leveling mat or did you put some type of whiteboard down for bare bottom? I am debating between this tank and a WB/IM the only thing I do NOT like is that the tank is so TALL height wise..I won't go higher than 22" I don't like getting my whole arm to my elbow in the water or standing on a step stool to reach the bottom.
@@ReefBuildersVideo excited to see this build. The silicon is clear on this tank as well compared to WB/IM is it me or does it have a blueish tint as well?
Hey Jake🙋♂️ i have a question if you remeber about a video on UA-cam about an asian guy, living in germany and breaking his acropora with an hammer 🔨? If i got it right it was around 2010-2012 but he quit his hobby.. Can you remember about this video? Got a link? Thanks and also good job your doing there!💪
I personally don't like tanks so big that the intimacy of a smaller tank, where you can see the corals and reef up close is lost. Still working on the 400 gallon SPS and that's about as big as I want to establish
Loving the videos. In terms of return pumps in Australia if people are looking for a budget pump jebao return pump. Super affordable, controllable and various sizes available and I have found to be reliable
Your aesthetics are top-notch. Simple, clean, not too much, not too little. Learned a lot!
This build is gearing up to be such a feast for the eyes!
Hoping you guys get to come visit Australia again soon
Love your videos and positive energy!
Class was in session I love learning about corals from your content ANOTHER TEACHABLE MOMENT THX CHAMP

That is going to look Absolutley awesome Jake!!! Cant wait to see the progress of this 😍
Awesome 👍👍, I can’t wait to see the new setup 🎉🎊🎉

Looking forward to see it finished!
Thanks Jake, love your videos.
This Cade build is going to look stellar Jake once it’s up & running. Great choice of corals to offset the low lighting. Will be following this build
Dope indeed my friend. Can't wait to see it come to life.
I'm def tuning in to the rest of the series love those corals man its going to be an inspiring tank 👍
I’m so excited for this one! I want to see every step!
You guys are blowing up👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤
Love that fluffy fox coral.
Super excited about this. Sure it’s gonna be real nice.
I'm looking forward to the next videos about the tank
Can’t wait to see this come together! Dedicated lps tanks are amazing! Don’t forget to give platygyra/goniastrea some love and real estate
Great video! Really enjoying this build!

I live in Australia and a really popular brand of return pump from my area is the hydor range I personally have a hydor delta 12000 and it’s fantastic

Hi. Could you show us more for this sump back to this reef? I loved!
What is your start up procedure of a new tank, how do you establish proper bacterial and algae balance and most importantly avoid pests? :)

You have monsoon Aquatica right in Darwin
Reef Builders I have Darren at Reef Secrets helping me out. (You did a video on his home tank and his store here on the Gold Coast) 👍
Great build Jake. Love the shirt, is that a Coelacanth?
You betcha!
CADE are a very good aquarium.

your the man
Great Coelacanth shirt.
Do you have that Dallas Acropora to add to the build? Seems very iconic down under
There's some around, but aiming to do an LPS environment for this tank
Wow… good to see Dallas Acro is still getting around, had it in my tank back in 03
All for Reef would be awesome for this tank along with an amino acid....
The controller locks interesting 🤔
BIG question: will you be putting in Austrailian fish?
Of course! I want to start with a school of yellow assessors
@@ReefBuildersVideo nice! I'm really looking forward to this build! You have some amazing corals picked out!
Reef Builders YESSSS what a brilliant idea

It came like that, but now that you mention it, I wouldn't mind seeing if I can make the bottom a darker shade

You should do an update or visit on reef 301
is that sand at the bottom of the frag tank or coraline algae? look so cool
Mostly coralline
How much better is Cade’s opti-clear glass than Starphire?
Probably the same in terms of clarity and hardness, negligible difference if any
Reef Builders Darn... I was hoping it was comparable to Elos Diamond
🔥
I feel like this one is a perfect sump for me,something perfect, can't figure out what is it
Is this a lower energy tank?
you betcha
Currently have a 40g breeder and 20g long display but now piecing equipment together. Wish to run AI or ecotech but wayyy out of budget.
👍👍👍 all I can say
whats the biggest tank you have aspirations of setting up, ever wanna crack 1000,10000 haha?

Very nice shirt lol
Did Jake found and Australian partner? Is that why he keeps going to Australia ?
Australia is awesome, that’s why! ☺️👍
Australian woman are in Australia which makes Australia awesome!!!
KN H hahaaa way to score some brownie points 🤣
aniafish any chance you are from Gallery aquatica TV?
aniafish I’m just speaking the truth ;)
